Dan Savage Is a Bully AND a Hypocrite

Funny how gay activist Dan Savage got so emotionally involved in pelting students with verbal jabs at a recent conference.  Of course, his ire was directed only towards Christians and many of them left when he began his diatribe.

The founder of the “It Gets Better” project did both during a recent speech at a high school journalism convention in Seattle. He called the Bible pro-slavery and argued that if the Bible got something like slavery wrong then anti-gay protestors shouldn’t use the book as a defense for their views. As you can see in this video, some students applauded while others walked out. Savage called those fleeing the room “pansy ass” and later apologized if he “hurt anyone’s feelings.” [1]

Dan Savage has been known as someone who is anti-bullying, but apparently forgot that when he stood before young people gathered for a journalism conference.  In fact, he simply proved that he himself is not above bullying people and for that he becomes a hypocrite, just like the many Christians he chose to attack.  He can wear that label with pride…

Look, he doesn’t like that orthodox Christianity believes homosexuality is wrong, so while on his soapbox, he chose to deliberately berate a group of people he assumed hated him.  What a buffoon.

I’m not pro-gay, but I certainly do not hate gays.  I’m not pro-radical Islam either, but likewise, I do not hate them.  They need Jesus, period.  In fact, everyone needs Jesus, but most will reject Him through to the day they die.

The problem here is that the liberal media will continue to embrace Savage, even swooning over him, though if the shoe were on the other foot, and a conservative Christian misspoke, the forgiveness would not soon be coming, if at all.

Dan Savage needs to take a breather.  He really should be completely above all of this, but obviously isn’t.  I have a difficult time believing that in spite of the fact that he is legally married to another man, he still deals with the problems of people finding his union wrong.  What’s it to him if I think that homosexuality is wrong?  He shouldn’t care, but his slip of the tongue showed that he is also not above being affected by conscience.

He says he’s sorry he offended anyone.  Really Dan?  You’re sorry you offended people, calling students “pansy a–es” as they quietly and respectfully left the auditorium.

Dan Savage is widely known as a radical, homosexual activist, who created an obscene site that redefines Rick Santorum’s last name as the byproduct of anal sex.” [2]  Savage is a quality guy, or at least thinks he is and there are many who agree with him.

Yeah, this is the guy you want as a keynote speaker for a journalism conference to young people, or anyone for that matter.  It’s really too bad Savage allowed his own prejudices to color his speech.  He probably could have done a lot to promote quality journalism (as I’m assuming he was supposed to), but instead preferred lambasting a group of people who are known for turning the other cheek.

For the record Dan, you didn’t offend me.  I’ve gotten used to the snarky remarks from people like yourself.  Nothing surprises me anymore because we are living in the End Times; times where people major in loving themselves.

I can only imagine what might have transpired had Savage decided to unleash his ire on the Qur’an and Muslims.  Nothing to say there, huh Dan? Afraid for your life, Dan?  In fact, in America, homosexuals are not executed for their “crime” of being gay, with trumped-up charges, and that’s a very good thing.  They are executed in places like Iran and Iran is – interestingly enough – an Islamic country, controlled by the Qur’an.

Why don’t you come unglued on Islam, Dan? In fact, if you lived in Iran, you would not be openly married to another man and your marriage would not be legally recognized at all.  Because you are gay, chances are good that you would not be a homosexual activist if you lived in Iran either.  You would likely be dead because of the laws contained within the Qur’an.

Yet, you bully and condemn Christians and the Bible because of your flawed views?  Not only are you a hypocrite, but you are obviously a coward as well.

People like Dan Savage are lost.  They need Jesus and unbeknownst to them, the have been written about by Paul in Romans 1.

Mr. Savage, it’s not too late for you to get your head above water.  Simply understand that you (like all of us) are sinners and without a way to save yourself.  But never fear, because Jesus offered Himself as a propitiation for your sins (as well as everyone else’s) so that you could have life and life eternal at that.

Romans 10:9-13 reads like this:  “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for “WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.”

That includes you, Dan.  Salvation is available for you, just as it is for me and anyone else who believes that their own sin keeps them from heaven.

If you choose to ignore God’s call on your life, tragically, that’s your option.  However, I would think a man of your intelligence and stature could at least try to practice what he preaches, by providing information without bullying.

Give it some thought, will you Dan?  Thank you.

Dan Savage is indeed a hypocrite, but so are many of his followers. I uploaded a video on YouTube calling him out on his hypocrisy for the use of the word “f****t” and the vid was pulled, even though I did not use the word. I find it galling that it’s called “bullying” when you call out a bully for using a term that most homosexuals don’t appreciate.

Hypocrisy seems to be part and parcel of the Left and it is something they indignantly deny. Intelligent people see it though, just as you’ve done.

Dan is less than a man I would say and a bully at that. He can only bully Christians. I dare him to bully the Muslims who are also very anti gay and anti his life style but then since he is less than a man, I doubt he has the “nuts” to bully Muslims.

Good point! I support Dan’s ability to speak the way he does and would NEVER use govt force (or otherwise) to shut him up. However, if he agitated the wrong crowd in say, Pakistan…

Which is something I find interesting, to say the least. Countries involved in OPEC actually execute gay people, yet the gays in the United States seem to have little problem with that, finding Christians a really easy target.

Would Dan Savage be so unbridled in his hatred say, toward the Qur’an? Not on his life (literally)!

Yeah, I’d say that scripture verse fits perfectly. Imagine that, it may be illegal to use the word, “illegal.”

In today’s world, if you tell someone that their sins and sinful lifestyle will send them to eternal torment if they do not repent, it is a “hate crime.” They may as well say that keeping a toddler from touching a hot stove is hateful, afterall, the child just wants to explore and touch everything, like toddlers were born to do. It is a truly backward world-what is a loving gesture and a stern reprimand for a sinner’s sake is considered hateful. Allowing destructive hedonism is loving.

      I agree, Sherry.

You probably already know there is a movement afoot to eradicate the legal use of the word “illegal” when referencing illegal aliens. Some want the inclusion of the word “illegal” to be classified as hate speech.

I guess this what Paul meant when he said, “But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,” (2 Timothy 3:1-4; emphasis added).

This is the world we now live in and Paul’s words are being fulfilled more so every day…
