The Firestorm Surrounding Chick-fil-A
In my heart, I believe things are ramping up behind the scenes. Christians and other conservatives may believe that a victory has been won through the fact that we have inundated Chick-fil-A stores everywhere, but victory has not been won. In fact, the greatest victory of all – seeing a homosexual come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord has not been witnessed, as far as I can see.
I’m not talking about homosexuals who also believe that they are Christians and no change is needed. I’m talking about seeing a homosexual (or two, or three, or more) realize the truth that they are completely outside of God’s will and need the only salvation that is available through Jesus Christ.
Maybe Carrie Underwood and her husband can feel good about attending a church where gays are welcome as they are with no need for change, but that is not the biblical reality. We ALL need to change and the only One who can make that happen is Jesus Christ. The Bible repeatedly speaks of the fact that there is nothing good in me by myself and a simple prayer of “faith” won’t do much if anything.
The need is to understand that in and of myself, I am completely unable to please God because I am unable to change myself. This applies to me and it applies to gays.
I read an article this morning from a lesbian who works at Chick-fil-A. She stated that she believes the self-righteous Christians will one day eat their words because she “knows” she is right. Seeing all the Christians flock to Chick-fil-A wanted to make her vomit, but she restrained herself from spitting in their food.
She works at Chick-fil-A because she needs a job to pay for a roof over her head. Repeatedly, she spoke of the fact that Christians are against equal rights. No, we are against whatever God is against. True, some within Christendom go way overboard in their zealousness, but for the most part, Christians stand opposed to that which God is opposed to and that is the reason we are opposed to it.
I consider myself here on assignment. I am behind enemy lines and sometimes I feel as though I am deep within enemy territory. It is difficult to appreciate the amount of evil and vileness that is included in this life; to try to ignore it or set it aside in order to appreciate God’s Creation. There are so many things that mock God and Christianity. There are so many things that make it very difficult to live the Christian life here in Satan’s kingdom. Though I am no longer part of his kingdom (having been transferred out of it into God’s Kingdom of Light), I am affected by the continual presence of its evil. It doesn’t go away.
The lesbian who wrote the article lamented that she fully believed Christians want to take over America. Well, the truth is that she and her kind want to do the same thing. Why should we stand still and let them?
The problem becomes though – and I’ve said this before – that in attempting to join the battle, we are often pitted against other people, in this case, gays and liberals who support them. As such, it is easy then to see people as the enemy and we must absolutely understand that we are not in a battle against flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities in the spiritual realm (Ephesians 6).
I am no longer waging a war against gay people than I am against my lawn when I mow it. I mow my lawn because it gets long and looks ugly. It’s nothing personal. It’s simply something that needs to be done. That is why I stand up against the gay agenda, although the reality is that mowing a lawn has nothing to do with morality, while standing up against the gay agenda does.
I believe where we truly see the bare essentials (no pun intended) of the core of the gay agenda is with events like “Up Your Alley,” a Folsom Street Faire held in San Francisco annually. I would suggest you take some time to search this out on the ‘Net. Find out what you can about “Up Your Alley” and then look up “zombietime,” where you will see even MORE graphic images of what adult men and women do at this street fair – none of it apparently illegal either as police simply stand there and in some cases, watch.
I will warn you that “Up Your Alley” is raunchy at best. It is graphic, so please be forewarned that these images exist. The fact that what occurs in these images is not done secretly, but out in the wide open spaces of the streets of San Francisco should tell you something.
Are all gay people interested in doing what gays do at “Up Your Alley”? I don’t believe so, but what concerns me is that there are multitudes of gays who ARE involved in that street fair and obviously enjoy it. This is part of their life and it does not appear to be limited to merely a few gays on the outskirts of the gay movement. This seems to be their agenda at its root, though this is obviously not what is presented to the American people in the mainstream media. Gays on TV and in movies – for the most part, due to strong gay groups and activists – are presented as normal individuals who simply want to marry, settle down, and adopt children.
However, when you read books by people like Joe Dallas (who came out of the gay lifestyle as thousands of others have), you begin to see a picture that tells you that someone is lying; either the media or people like Joe. Who has more to gain?
I don’t believe that gay activists like “Queer Nation” have even begun to fight Chick-fil-A. It would be dangerous for Christians to believe that we have gained a victory. We haven’t. Satan never sleeps.
I read an article in the Washington Post yesterday calling for gays to “infiltrate” Chick-fil-A. Gays should actually go there all the time. They should hang out in the lobbies. They should have birthday parties there. They should even get married there. This is going to be the tip of the iceberg.
As I indicated, I lived through the debacle called Prop 8. In spite of the fact that it was voted on TWICE in general elections by the people of California and the second time, it won by a greater majority, that did not stop gay activists from literally going on a rampage to get it overturned.
The tactics that were employed were, in some cases, vicious. There were incidents of alleged stalking of people’s children who supported Prop 8 with their donations. Those who donate to these causes can easily be found because this information becomes public knowledge (unless of course, you are Mr. Obama and those of his ilk, who find ways to keep these things secret, based somehow on national security). So once names were uncovered, addresses and phone numbers could then be determined and those people were added to the gay activists’ “hit list.” No, they had no plans to actually kill anyone (though I’m sure they would not have minded if they simply died). Their interests were in harassing them AND their businesses. These were the obvious things they did to instill fear in people.
One business received hundreds of phone calls per day with harassing phone calls. This of course did two things: 1) it unnerved the owners of the business, and 2) made it very difficult to carry on a business because the phone was tied up.
Gays said that the political system works and if Prop 8 was defeated, then Christians and other conservatives should accept the fact that they lost. This was something they were not willing to put into practice when it came to them losing. Eventually, of course, we had one of those activist judges – who himself was gay, but stated that it would not interfere with his decision – who overturned Prop 8, effectively canceling out the majority will of the people. While Democracy had spoken, one activist judge spurred on by numerous gay groups and activists, decided that it did not matter what the people believed.
So now we are facing the same issue again and the fight will not die. Gays fully believe that this issue has something to do with “equal rights” and “equal protection.” Not true. It has to do with their agenda, period.
Years ago, in California, we were told by gay groups that all they wanted was to be allowed civil unions. They would be happy with that because it would grant them privileges like those that married people enjoyed. They got their civil unions.
Then we heard that this wasn’t really good enough because they were still “second class” citizens in spite of the fact that they could now enjoy the tax advantages and health insurance, etc. This is what brought Prop 8 to the fore and became a statewide battle.
Now, the argument is that gays do not believe they have equal rights because they cannot marry in every state. Some have gotten married in one state, moved to another state, then sought to “divorce” each other while there. This was done for the sole purpose of forcing the state to recognize their union as an authentic marriage in spite of the fact that the particular state they relocated to does not recognize same-sex marriage. Had the state granted the divorce, it would have been used to show that same-sex unions should be allowed in that state since it recognized a marriage from another state while granting the divorce.
The states I am aware of did not fall for that and simply ruled that since that state did not recognize same-sex unions, it had no authority to grant a divorce in a situation where same-sex unions were not recognized. But it won’t stop there. Gays continue to push their agenda on the world and that’s really all they care about.
Too many politicians know they will not have much of a chance to be elected or re-elected if they stop supporting gay marriage. That to me is absolutely tragic that in spite of what else a candidate might stand for, it all hinges on whether or not they support same-sex unions.
I was on a social network website and posted some comments related to the Chick-fil-A situation and of course, it was not long before someone accused me of “hate speech” and discrimination. I pointed out that my beliefs are based on the Bible and they have nothing to do with hate.
One individual made the comment that I should be obeying Jesus when He said that I shouldn’t judge (a favorite among gays). When I pointed out that Jesus’ comment was directed toward judging a person’s INTENTIONS and MOTIVES, not their ACTIONS or WORDS, the person had no other retort than to simply attack me verbally.
Someone else pointed out that Jesus never said anything against homosexuality. I disagreed then and do now. In Luke 17, Jesus referred to the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah during Lot’s day. Jesus said that in spite of the impending judgment, the people of Lot’s day continued doing the fairly normal, mundane things that all people do: marry, give in marriage, plant, harvest, eat, drink, etc. Then Jesus points out that everything went along normally until the judgment.
Not once did Jesus indicate or imply that God’s judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah was wrong. Not once did Jesus say that the judgment should not have happened. In fact, the reason he used the situation with Lot (and the situation with Noah) was to point out the fact that the SAME situation will exist when HE returns to this earth in judgment.
My comments were met with more vile comments. The ad hominem attacks had begun in earnest. This is the trouble with people who have no argument. All they know how to do is attack. That’s it. They assume if they yell “HATER!” loud enough, people will back down. No amount of calling me HATER will make it true though.
Christian, we need to continue to pray for a number of things. We need to actively support Chick-fil-A, but we also need to cover them in prayer. I’ve already begun asking that God will frustrate the plans of the enemy. I’ve also asked that God will – through His grace and because of His love – begin opening the eyes of homosexuals to see the truth of their situation.
God loves the homosexual, just as He loves the heterosexual. What He hates is the actions that people involve themselves in that are diametrically opposed to His will and His will is what is best for people.
Paul – in Romans 1 – highlights the terrible fall from grace that begins when people initially take their eyes off of God and onto some idol – whatever that happens to be. As people continue to resist God and deny His reality, they become more obsessed with their own wants and desires. Meanwhile, God continues to work to get their attention.
As Paul shows, in the case of the person who has homosexual tendencies, these tendencies begin to take root in a person’s life and instead of resisting it, they begin to resist God’s loving and gentle nudge. Eventually, if they continue to resist God, He will ultimately give them over to themselves to do whatever they want to do. This is why “Up Your Alley” exists. These individuals have seared consciences as they have been given over to their own vile lusts and degradations.
Everyone has them. All people have weaknesses that if left unchecked, will consume them. God does not want that to happen, but He will finally give people what they want if they are earnest enough about wanting to believe that He does not exist.
Some within the gay community believe they are Christian, however, this cannot be the case if we understand what the Bible tells us. What these individuals have done is fully rejected the biblical truth of God, replacing Him with an idol of their own making that they call “god.” Gene Robinson has done this as have a multitude of other gays who are in “ministry.”
There is hope for the homosexual, just as there is hope for the person caught in a myriad of sexual sin or who is addicted to porn, or who loves money more than anything else in this world. For the person who wants help, it is there.
If you are a homosexual or if you THINK you are, there is hope for you yet. One group that exists to spread this truth and help people like you is called “Hope for Homosexuals.” Their website is found here:
In order to be set free from homosexuality, you have to be willing to see the truth. If you are not willing, then there is no help for you until you get to that point.
You have likely been told that you were “born that way,” yet there is absolutely no scientific evidence for this assertion. In fact, how would you know, since you likely cannot remember all the way back to your birth? Moreover, it is also very likely that you did not come to “realize” you are a homosexual until much later in life. Did something happen to bring it about? Only you know.
Christian, we need to pray. We need to purpose in our heart to stand for God and His truth in spite of what comes against us and of course, the most difficult part is to do this in love. This love is not the world’s definition of love. It is God’s unique picture of love; the same love He lavishes on us. It was this love that opened our eyes to our own fate and helplessness. It is the same love that will free anyone from that to which they are enslaved.
In the meantime, let’s continue to pray for Chick-fil-A, its owners and everyone who works there, including gays and atheists. It’s not over by any means. Satan does not give up that easily.
If, ultimately, the battle is not won politically, that’s the way it is and it won’t be so from not fighting. The most important battle to be won is the battle for souls. Satan has blinded the minds of people in this world, who are perishing (2 Corinthians 4:4) so that they believe they are right and we are wrong. The battle for their soul is unparalleled. Satan is loathe to give them up because they are already part of his kingdom of darkness. This is the most important battle that occurs on a daily basis in this physical realm. That’s the battle that we need to focus on above the others. We need to do what we can to physically support Chick-fil-A, but we need to battle in prayer for the lives of gays and atheists who work at Chick-fil-A, so that they God might have mercy on them, opening their eyes to the truth of their unsaved condition. It can happen and I believe God will pull people from the fire. As Christians, we must never give up the fight for people whose souls are in the balance.
