Who is in Control?

November 5, 2012 at 6:26 PM 3 comments

As I read through Scripture today, I once again marvel at how involved God is in the lives of people on this planet.  Throughout Scripture we read text that supports the notion that God is fully in control, even if He does not control every aspect of our lives here.  That is not a contradiction, because while God can control all things, does not always do that.  He controls the events that affect His plans and His purposes.

We know that Colossians 1:17 tells us that Jesus holds all things together.  Without Him doing that, things would fall apart.  But why does He do this?  I believe it is because it proves to us that He is intimately involved in His Creation.

He created this world and everything in it for a purpose.  That purpose will be ultimately fulfilled.  All things will come together in praise to Him and for His glory.

We note that in the book of Daniel, we are given more than a glimpse into the future from Daniel’s perspective.  There, the Lord through angelic messengers, outlines the history of the world before it even happened.  Starting in Daniel 2, we learn of the Gentile kingdoms that will hold sway over this earth until those times are fulfilled.

We see that God began the times of the Gentiles with Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom, which is the old Babylonian Kingdom.  God explained to Daniel through Gabriel that eventually, Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom would fall to the Medes-Persians.  They would rule for a predetermined amount of time, but would eventually fall to Alexander the Great and the Hellenistic Empire.  That kingdom, in turn, would give way to the Romans.

We know that all of this was not only foretold to Daniel, but has occurred in history accurately.  We also learn not only in Daniel, but in Revelation, that another kingdom similar to the Roman Empire, yet different would rise after the Roman Empire fell.

It is this kingdom for which we are waiting.  In the book of Daniel, there were really no time parameters for each kingdom – how long they would last before they fell.  They simply rose, existed, and went the way of the dinosaur.  This does not mean that God did not have a specific time frame in mind for each, as I firmly believe He did and does.  It simply means He did not tell Daniel before hand how long these kingdoms would exist, with the exception of the final kingdom.

In Daniel and Revelation, we learn that this final kingdom will be controlled by one very evil tyrant and his kingdom – the last of the Gentile kingdoms – will last only for seven years (one “week” in Daniel 9:27).  However, in this seven-year period, he will do quite a bit.  He will come to power during a time after the earth has already been divided into ten kingdoms, or parts, each one governed by one individual.  Once he achieves the power he seeks, he will become the world’s worst nightmare.  He will rule with absolute imperialism.  What he says goes.  What he desires will become reality.  Anyone who stands in his way will be eliminated, pure and simple.

The Bible tells us that this coming man is the man of sin and fully lawless in 2 Thessalonians 2.  Further, Paul tells us that this man will do whatever it takes to exalt himself in an attempt to make himself equal with God.

By the time the seven years will have passed, this evil dictator will have amassed most of earth’s armies in a final, desperate attempt to literally overthrow Jesus Christ as He returns (physically) to this earth to set up His own Kingdom.

Now, I know, if you’re not a believer and you’re reading this, you’re likely laughing until your sides hurt.  Here’s another crazy Christian who is preaching that the world is going to end.  Unfortunately, this world will end according to the Bible and if truth be told, you have nothing better that you can point to in an attempt to negate what the Bible clearly teaches, except of course, your own set of beliefs.

I have alluded to this several times before recently, that this world steadily moves toward a time when it will be drastically changed.  What precipitates that change?  We do not know specifically, though many have guessed.  Some say the Rapture will be the thing that destabilizes this earth politically and socially.  That could very well be.  It could be a complete catastrophic change in our economy due to a global currency failure and economic stall.  That could be as well.

What we do know is that at some point in the future, something major will happen that will cause this world to come together as one.  This will result in a new world order rising from whatever happened that brought the world to that point.  Once the world – as a global order – arrives at that point, something will obviously need to be done.  Bankers, capitalists, and the like will come together to create a new currency and a new way of life.  Having only one currency will make it that much easier for the global elite to control nearly every aspect of the new global economy and the trade that occurs within it.

Even though the earth will be as one – just like was becoming in Genesis 11 during the time of the Tower of Babel – for practical purposes, it will seem best to break the world up into ten parts.  That will make governing the world far easier.

While this may seem far fetched to you, please note that a number of years ago, the Club of Rome took up the task of doing just that.  It’s on paper and it’s part of a plan they developed way back in 1973. [1]  Please see the link at the bottom of this article which will take you to a page that has everything all mapped out.  Please also note that the Bible told us of this several thousand years ago.  Is the Club of Rome’s version of the ten-part world system the one that will be used?  Who knows.  What’s clear though is that other people who are not Christians do not see this as something that cannot be done.  It simply makes sense.

Once the world is divided up into its ten parts, it will be at that time that the Antichrist (the man of sin Paul speaks of in 2 Thessalonians 2) will make his play for absolute power.  He will that by killing three of the current rulers.  “And another shall rise after them: He shall be different from the first ones, and shall subdue three kings,” (Daniel 7)  Once he subdues three kings, the others will commit themselves to him in complete loyalty.  From here, Antichrist will simply build on the power structure that has already been created and will become the final world ruler, ruling in absolute imperialism.

It’s interesting to me when I think that one day, this world will look as I’ve described.  If not for the Bible, who would guess that this would be the final course for the future history of humanity?  Most outside the church envision a time when war is no longer needed or seen, people get along despite differences, and the world is at peace.  They see this in spite of the lack of complete evidence and even logic that points to a contrary outcome.

People, left to themselves, will not make this world a better place.  This is why Socialism nor Communism, or Marxism, or anything like that will ever work.  They never have worked and never will.  Even in those systems, the rich simply get richer and the Middle Class is essentially dissolved.  Why is that?  It is due to the fact that most people love money.  They yearn for and chase after wealth because they believe that with it, they will find peace.

Do you ever wonder just how many members of Congress are wealthy, whether they are Democrat or Republican?  As of a few years ago, it was estimated that 261 members of Congress are millionaires.  Before you think that they are all Republican, think again.  While GOP Senator Darrell Issa is worth slightly over $300 million, Representative Jane Harmon (a Democrat) is reportedly worth just under $300 million, followed by John Kerry, another Democrat, whose estimated worth is right around $240 million.  At this same time, it was determined that “The median wealth of a House member in 2009 stood at $765,010, while the median wealth for a senator in 2009 was nearly $2.38 million.” [2]

There’s nothing wrong with being wealthy.  It’s simply wrong to love wealth and to pretend – as many Democrats do – that the idea of being wealthy repels them and only Republicans are the ones who want to protect their rich friends.  There are enough rich friends to go around for both Republicans and Democrats in Congress.  It’s a show they put on for the rest of us, pretending that they want financially accountability and to share that wealth with us little people.  If they truly believed that, nothing is stopping them from donating a good portion of their wealth to our government, either directly, or by not claiming so many tax deductions.

This is why Socialism or some derivative of that, will never work for the world, at least not equitably.  Do you really believe that these leaders who have so much wealth are not going to be part of the new system that eventually takes hold of the world?  Do you really believe that they are simply going to turn over the reigns to the rest of us?  Uh…no, that won’t happen.

They will be thoroughly involved in creating a new world order that is designed to do one thing:  benefit them, allowing them to retain and even grow their wealth.  Everyone else will simply be working for them.  Unfortunately, since it will be a worldwide system, there will be no opportunity to go to a better country.  It will all be the same.  The rich will be thoroughly rich and will grow richer, the Middle Class will evaporate, and the only the poor will remain as second class citizens.

So how close are we to that vision of loveliness, that euphoric future state where war won’t exist, everyone’s needs will be met, and the rich will not only still rule the world, but will continue to grow richer?  I don’t know, because the Bible does not tell us.

One thing is for certain though.  We have been moving in that direction for quite some time.  In fact, ever since Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylonian Kingdom, this world has been steadily marching toward the time when God will allow Satan to establish his final kingdom in his final attempt to overthrow God.  Yes, I know, to the unbeliever, that’s hogwash.  Believing something is hogwash doesn’t make it so, although I will certainly admit that for those who are not believers, it is a difficult and even implausible scenario to wrap one’s brain around, isn’t it?

If you stop to consider it though, you would have to admit that in spite of humanity’s best efforts, no government that is any form of Socialism can really succeed.  This is all due to the fact that greed will always be with us.  There will always be someone who wants more power and the only real way to gain that is by having the most amount of money.  It is money that breeds and creates power. Without it, not much can be accomplished at all.

Whether people think so or not, greed destroys everything in the end.  No matter how altruistic a program is when it is first created, eventually, someone comes along with a tremendous longing to be “in charge” and it is that greed that creates within them the desire to do whatever is necessary to accomplish their goals.

In the end, I truly believe that most politicians who yearn for socialistic policies, do so because it is simply another way to control the populace.  They’re not interested in actually helping people and if the populace doesn’t keep them in check, it wouldn’t be long before they run roughshod over all of us.  If they truly wanted to help, there would not be people still waiting to receive help on the heels of Hurricane Sandy.  There would not be people in the inner cities of Chicago demanding better treatment and to be included in the process.

Tomorrow is election day.  I’m sure most have decided for whom they will vote.  Any undecided at this stage will probably just flip a coin.

So what can we expect tomorrow?  Probably a good deal of hype, some confusion, and anger.  Someone is going to lose and though we may not know who the winner is for certain tomorrow, there’s a good chance that we will have a great idea who it is at some point tomorrow evening.

It would be great if it was over quickly, wouldn’t it?  Who wants the process to go on for days or weeks, as it did when Al Gore ran against George W?  Not fun at all and there is the business of running this country.  Things need to get back on track.

I’m sure depending upon which pundit or network you tune into tomorrow, you will hear everything from Mr. Obama being declared the winner to Mr. Romney being declared the winner, to everything in between.  Word has it that the Obama campaign may just take it upon themselves to announce an Obama win based on early voting numbers, in the hopes of demoralizing the Romney forces. [3]  Interestingly enough, the person in the article says he gained that information from a good, solid source…in Chicago.

This was kind of the game plan in 2008 when the networks began calling states early on for Mr. Obama.  It served to create the sense that it was pointless to even vote (for those who could not vote until after they got home from work…for those who have jobs that is), so why bother?  Obama had already won their state.  Their one vote would not make any difference.

Beyond this, we learned recently that Lockheed is going to lay off 123,000 employees in the weeks before this Christmas.  That’s 123 THOUSAND employees.  This is due directly to the defense cuts that Mr. Obama’s administration is making.  But that’s not the worst of it.

Mr. Obama did not want Lockheed to make this announcement to employees before the election takes place.  It could be a damper on things and make him even that much more undesirable as a president for a second term, hence the request to Lockheed to keep quiet about the layoffs.  So, because these employees will not receive a full 60-days notice as the law requires, Mr. Obama has stated that the government (aka, the taxpayers) will cover all expenditures related to the severance packages for employees let go by Lockheed.  That will cost tax payers millions in dollars.  Normally, the company itself – in this case, Lockheed – would have covered those costs, but because Mr. Obama is asking them to do something that numerous people on Capitol Hill are saying is simply illegal, he is volunteering government money to subsidize severance pay for laid off workers.

So will we see more of this type of chicanery from Team Obama, with respect to Tuesday’s election and situations connected to it?  I have no doubt that it could certainly happen and I would not at all be surprised if political pundits add to the fun by trying to throw their own monkey wrenches in things too.

But how does any of this tie in with the Times of the Gentiles and the various kingdoms that will bring us to the return of Jesus?  In short, it all leads there.  If God choose for Mr. Obama to remain in power for the next four years, clearly, we are going to get there much faster than if God chooses to appoint Mr. Romney as president instead.

If Mr. Obama is re-elected, then it will give him a mandate that basically says he can do whatever he wants to do without any fear at all.  He won’t have to worry about re-election after that and if he plays his cards right, he might even find a way to eliminate future presidential elections through martial law or some other variant.

If that happens, then it is clear that things will progress quickly toward the end, toward the time of Jacob’s Trouble and the final “week” of this world prior to the return of Jesus Christ.  We should know by the end of this week!

    Hi Amy,

I checked your IP Address and either you’re using a proxy IP address, or you live in the Belgium/Germany area of the world. That makes sense and now I understand why your English is as it is and you are misunderstanding some of the things I write. English is your second language and yes, you’re pretty good at it, but not good enough to gain my actual meaning.

At any rate, you’re actually wasting my time since you’re not part of the United States of America and this election has absolutely no bearing on you, at least not directly. This is probably just a game to you and I don’t have time to play games. I gave you the benefit of the doubt, but now that I know what’s up, the game is over.

So go find another conservative blogger to harass, will you? I have no more time for you. It’s not that you are not entitled to your opinion, but to attempt to pass yourself off as someone who could actually vote for Obama and has a direct stake in what is happening in the United States is disingenuous to say the least.

    Take care!

A lot in this one again. I agree with many econ points, inc re socialism and communism or other worldly utopias never working. But what do you mean by socialist policies exactly? The only truly privitised system was medieval iceland. All nations, inc gop us, has socialist policies. Army, police, fire brigade, nat guard, mint, fed reserve, irs, fema, nat parks, pub teachers, prisons, ss and med for children, seniors and vets, air space regulators, nasa and yes big bird all involve socialistic policies. Moreover, if it is a service by a state or local gov it is still socialistic – socialism isnt limited to the fed gov as a political philosophy. This may be socialism but it is what you pay your taxes for under rom 13.

Also your earlier comments siggested the new world order, a bushism, will be ushered in by capitalist bankers, not so called socislist. Capitalism of small buss and midsle class has more to fear from vulture capitalists, who destroy jobs, than imaginery red mcarthy reds under the beds. The 1980s prob wants its red peril hyperbole back.

Also, why is it capitalism when wall st makes money but expects gov to socialize their losses? If you want to find some socialists go to wall st.

Finally, you cant be serious with the patriot mov claim about obama imposing martial law and not stepping down? You know how crazy that sounds? Do you really think gop backed military wiuld allow that – or the nation? We successfully had an election in the civil war!

Obama is not great but he is not the antichrist. Was that you not so subtle inferrence with all the end times stuff followed by crazy suggestion at end re martial law?

Socialistic policies are when the government provides more hand-outs for the populace, plain and simple, but they do it on the backs of the Middle Class, which is what has been happening since Mr. Obama took office. He promised that he would NEVER raise taxes on anyone making less than 250,000, but he has done that. (By the way, I’m not yelling when I capitalize words – I’m emphasizing and there is a difference.) I don’t complain about all your abbreviations or your atrocious spelling, that makes it very difficult to read, do I? I can understand a typo here and there, but it’s a bit much.

If you really take the time to study the countries that have EXTENDED Socialistic policies, you’ll find that they don’t work there at all. The only ones who benefit are the poor and the rich and the more socialistic policies put in place, the more the Middle Class is squeezed until they no longer exist.

The “new world order” is not merely a “Bushism.” George Soros and many global leaders have also used that phrase. But, I based my understanding on Scripture, not George Bush or George Soros.

Without capitalists, there would be no real jobs. I find it fascinating when people like Michael Moore (who is worth roughly $50 million dollars by the way), pretend that they are part of Occupy and they hate capitalism. They made their money BECAUSE of capitalism. So have people like Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi. They are worth MILLIONS, yet they pay little in taxes because on paper, they claim their career is “bee farming” and they live in New Jersey, so they have a ton of write-offs.

Whether it sounds crazy to you about any leader instating Martial Law to remain in power makes absolutely no difference at all.

I never said Mr. Obama is the Antichrist. He’s not intelligent enough to be. Mr. Obama is merely a puppet, controlled by the global elite and I honestly believe they wanted him as president so they could play the race card as much as possible. It’s gotten old.
