A few days ago, midwife Brenda Capps was arrested in her Bakersfield, California home by armed officers of Medical Board’s Operation Safe Medicine. She has since been charged with a felony, “booked for violation of Business and Professions Code section 2052, which is unlicensed practice of medicine.” Both Mrs. Capps and her husband considered this a ministry and she has been involved in midwifery for over 20 years. Because she does not have a license to be a midwife, she was arrested for practicing medicine without a license.
This latest election has shown a number of things to me. For those who believe that the election was completely fair and above board, then at least some of what I am going to say will read like “sour grapes” to you. You will wrongly believe that I am simply upset that “my” candidate did not win and therefore, I’m looking for excuses to complain.
With the deadly storm called Hurricane Sandy fast approaching land near the northern part of the East Coast, Christians need to be in concerted prayer for the safety of people who will be affected.
The idea that Hollywood has produced a warehouse full of movies depicting bloodbaths and violence that most have become accustomed to seeing as well as video games that leave nothing to the imagination tells me that while some in Hollywood are at least getting that part of the equation correct, then then make a jump that defies logic.
After watching too many videos to count and exploring the information found at places like PoliceAbuse.com, I have come to my own conclusions, which I’d like to share. It would seem that many law enforcement officials today come from a military background. What are they taught in the military? They are taught that under NO circumstances are they allowed to disobey an order given to them by their commanding officer. If an officer says “jump,” the proper response is “SIR, YES SIR!” Don’t even bother asking “how high?” Just respond in the affirmative and start jumping. The order was given and it is to be obeyed.
I don’t normally write about things like this, but this is too seriously disturbing to ignore.
If you can stomach it, I would ask that you watch this video, but please be warned. The images and sounds are vomit-inducing. It is graphic. You may find yourself either so incensed or brought to tears when you see that this type of thugery can and does occur within the borders of the United States. The video is at the end of this article.
My son suggested I watch a movie called Idiocracy, because, as he said, I would probably write a blog about it. So, we watched it. Now, I’m writing a blog about it.
It’s an 84-minute comedy from Mike Judge (“Beavis & Butthead,” “King of the Hill”) from 2006, starring Luke Wilsom, Maya Rudolph, and Dax Shephard among others who auditioned and were found to be suitably moronic (or desperate) enough to be part of this movie. It had a limited release in the United States (gee, who would have guessed?) with a premier in Germany and then was essentially released on DVD following that. I note that in France, it was called “Planet Stupid,” and in the Czech Republic, it was called “Absurdistan.”
I will note up front that Prasch is not necessarily a Dispensationalist. He does not agree with a PreTrib Rapture for instance. What I thoroughly appreciate about his presentation is that as someone who does accept a PreTrib Rapture, I do not in the least feel condemned by him because of my understanding of Scripture. In a day and age when it has become the norm for people not only to castigate (but also to be referred to as a “heretic”) those of us who believe that Christ will come for His Bride before the Tribulation begins, reading what Prasch has to say is a breath of fresh air and certainly welcome by me. I have stated any number of times that I do not all knowledge concerning Scripture. I have made mistakes and it is possible that at least some of my beliefs now are not 100% lined up with Scripture. I hope that is not the case, but if it is, I also expect and welcome the Lord’s correction.
I received a broadcast email from one of the ministries I follow and the heading of the email was titled “Heal Our Land Prayer Campaign: Returning America to its Judeo-Christian Roots.”
The ministry rightly bemoans the fact that God-sanctioned marriage is under attack from all corners, especially gay activists who want to reimagine marriage to include unions between same sex partners. I believe they are correct when they argue “Instead of seeking to restore and strengthen marriages, politicians are trying to redefine what marriage means and to distance themselves from the Judeo-Christian heritage upon which this nation was founded.”
The book “The Harbinger,” by Rabbi Jonathan Cahn has created quite a stir and today, I’m going to add my thoughts to the mix. I’m sure my comments will not be the final word on the subject, and they should not be. I’m amazed at how quickly this book has gained such a following. There are hundreds of accolades connected to the book and that leads me to ask WHY?
