American Society Logo – Islamic?

I teach part-time at a local college and as I was walking through the hall and saw one of the computer monitors on the wall. As usual, it was advertising something, in this case a relay run for the American Cancer Society. I didn’t really pay attention to it.
After about the third time of walking past the monitor, the logo jumped out at me, and I remember thinking, “What does that logo remind me of?” As I looked at it, the light dawned. Well, I’ll be doggone! Looks like there’s the symbol that’s on the Islamic flag! Could it be? The normal logo for the American Cancer Society is simply the lower right hand portion of this logo, the part with the medical symbol (with red background) and then the blue shape to the right with the words “American Cancer Society.”
However, it looks like for this specific event, the individuals at the American Cancer Society added to their original logo, what looks to be a slice of the moon with the one star, in this case off to the left.
You can one version of the symbol for Islam used in the flag below. As you can see, the crescent moon with one star is obvious.
This leads to a question: did the folks at the American Cancer Society simply – by accident come up with the new logo for the relay without intending to do so? That’s kind of difficult to believe.
If they did not accidentally come up with it, then the only other answer is that they came up with it intentionally, however chose to make it look as though it was simply coincidental in nature. I don’t buy it. I’ve been seeing the star and crescent too much in society as it is and in fact, it seems to be permeating society on a global level.
So what do we make of this? Is it a conspiracy? Is it something that simply happens because the graphic artists all tend to think of crescent moons and a star? I think it’s done intentionally to undergird people’s thinking with things that are related to Islam. If this is correct, then that leads us to the question of why people (the movers and shakers) are doing this? What possible need does the world have to see the Islamic logo in everything?
Except for the fact that it sends hidden messages to radical Islamists, I’m not sure what other reason it could possible exist. But let’s go off the deep end for a moment. If (and that’s a fairly big “if”), this is all part of the plan to indoctrinate the masses, what does it say to radical Islam?
I think it can only say one thing. It says, “We’re with you. Go for it! Create chaos and we will look the other way!” If you stop to think about it, isn’t that what is happening throughout the world now?
As I wrote about the other day, the world is experiencing what many are calling “creeping Sharia.” We are slowly seeing radical Islam encroaching upon various areas of society. In Dearborn, MI, with the most recent Arab Festival, non-Muslims were unceremoniously spit on. Though this assault was caught on video, no one was arrested.
In various parts of the world, Muslims are burning down Christian churches, and gathering to demonstrate the fact that Jewish synagogues exist. This Muslim-on-Non-Muslim violence is getting out of hand mainly because those in authority are complacent about it, or simply do not want to do anything about it.
Can you imagine if one country was at war with another country – let’s say country A and country B. What do you think would happen if country A attacked country B and country B essentially did nothing except back up and get out of the way? Their thinking would be “If we leave them alone, they’ll stop attacking us.” If we saw a country do that, we would likely think of their leaders as morons. They are being attacked, yet instead of fighting back, they are simply giving in.
I believe that this is what is happening throughout the world. The problem though is that in our politically correct world, no one wants to say that the problem stems from one particular culture group. We don’t mind a war against a country, but against one particular ethnicity or religious group? So, at every turn, our duplicitous leaders have chosen to walk around the problem, giving Islam a wide berth. Their thinking is that, like a ferocious barking dog, if you give it enough space, it will leave you alone.
Well, how much more do we have to see before our leaders will admit that being politically correct is a no-win situation for us? In fact, being politically correct about the situation simply plays into the enemy’s hands.
We have leaders in Washington who do not want anyone to say that we are at war with Islam. That’s just not nice. It’s counter-productive. Okay, then I will say it this way: Islam is at war with the world! To deny this is to deny our own rights and freedoms. It is giving up before we even pick up our weapons.
The more the world lies down, the more emboldened Islam will become. The more I study Islam, the more I see a complete lack of love and peace. I’m glad for those Muslims who are peaceful. They see the world through rose-colored glasses. If they truly believe that Islam is a “religion of peace,” that’s up to them, but when I read the Qur’an, and watch the news, I see nothing that confirms that. In fact, Muhammad’s own life negates the idea that love is the center piece of Islam.
So what do we do? Simple. We do not give in to their thugishness. We do not roll over and play dead. We also do not start acting like they are acting (though we want to). We do not go out of our way to imitate their behavior, but neither do we ask them “how high?” when they say “jump!”
I firmly believe that Islam is being used by the powers that exist in this world to create the type of catastrophic societal breakdown that will usher in the New World Order. It is really that simple. Once that happens, I believe these same powers that be will come down extremely hard on Islamic radicals to regain the order that was lost.
To us, it seems like an uncontrolled, volitional problem that is going to simply rise to the point of explosion. In fact, it is likely a very controlled, planned demolition of society that these world leaders believe is needed to usher in the next level of global change.
If we know that this is what is happening, we can at least be prepared for it. We don’t have to succumb to the fear that drives the average person, and neither do we have to cave into the demands that we hear from the godless of this world.
The reality is that God is fully in control – always has been and always will be! There is nothing that slips by his notice.
I may be completely wrong about what I’ve said here today (except for the previous paragraph). Maybe the world powers have nothing to do with the rise of Islam. Maybe they are not trying to bring us to the brink of chaos so that they act the hero by setting up a New World Order. I don’t believe that is the case. I go by what I see and what I see in the world is telling me that something behind the scenes is catapulting this world to the brink of insane chaos. If you disagree with that, then I’m wondering if we are looking at the same world and I do not mean that sarcastically.
Look at everything that has been happening since before Mr. Obama was elected. The tsunami of support that literally swept him into office (or so it seemed) changed the fate of this country.
Since taking the oath of office, Mr. Obama has seemingly worked diligently to do everything in his power to undercut the policies of our founding fathers. Now, through the ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), rather than work through Congress regarding illegal aliens into this country, the administration (though remaining in the background) has been working to change policy so that the hands of the individuals in the ICE are tied when it comes to determining who is and who is not here illegally.
Mr. Obama has defied Congress on several occasions (including the ongoing situation in Libya). He has been spending hand over fist the money from taxpayers of this nation. Tell me, with our economy as it is, why does the First Lady need to go to Spain, or to Africa by herself?
We are experiencing food shortages throughout the world that are elevating prices at the grocery store. Gas prices continue to fluctuate. Flooding, earthquakes, tornadoes, and more are routine in the U.S., breaking records. Are these things happenstance, or are they being controlled? Is HAARP the common link? We know that it’s capable of producing extremely high-quality images on the horizon as was recently done in China. Is it capable of creating heavenly signs and wonders as well?
This country is on the brink of financial destruction and our government seems unwilling or unable to do anything about it. Yesterday, during discussions of how to reduce the debt, many politicians simply walked out of the meeting led by VP Biden because they are fighting to keep new taxes off the table. The White House says it wants a “balanced approach” to debt reduction. Great, let’s start with putting a moratorium on how much Mr. Obama can spend!
So what we are looking at the world over is tension that is often erupting in violence. Presently, Tunisia, Egypt, Sudan, Libya, Greece, and other areas of the world are experiencing social upheaval. Many countries are starting to crumble under the pressure of economic woes.
On top of that, we have Islamists demanding to have things done their way and if that means that other people are denied their rights, too bad. This kind of upheaval in society causes the hearts of the people to fail them out of plain, old ordinary fear (cf. Luke 21:26). People are scared and they have good reason to be. However, we were warned in Scripture that these days were coming. They are now here and we have people who deny this reality.
Recently, Preterist Gary DeMar held a prophecy conference that derided those who still hold to a Premillennialist position, especially those of us who believe in a PreTrib Rapture. People like DeMar do not believe in the coming physical return of Jesus either, because they believe He returned in A.D. 70 when Rome crushed Jerusalem.
Yet, when I look around, I see the words of Scripture coming to pass. I don’t look at the newspaper and see where I can fit a specific event into the Bible. I look at the entire landscape and can clearly see that things that Jesus spoke of in the Olivet Discourse are now happening.
This is the problem though when you only look at one or two things. It takes the ability to see everything that is happening on the horizon. What is the overall picture?
I teach computer courses, using Windows operating system and Microsoft Office. It is always interesting to me to see students who focus on the details losing sight of the overall picture. Normally, each new chapter in the book teaches several skills for either Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access. It is easy to simply focus on the this skill, which leads to that skill, which then leads to the next skill. What I try to do is help students understand what the project will look like when they are finished with it. The individual steps get them to the end. If they lose sight of the end and simply focus on each step as if that step is the end in and of itself, all they will become is thoroughly frustrated. Seeing the big picture helps them know that the steps are there for their use, not as an end in themselves.
I believe that God is fully and intimately involved in what is going on today. We can choose to focus on this or that as if those things will overcome us, or we intelligently understand that the whole picture is designed by God, therefore He will give us the strength and wisdom to know how to react to the situation.
One thing is for sure. We are not to fear anything. There is absolutely nothing to fear. Do you fear Islam? You shouldn’t. You should be willing to calmly stand against it. Do you fear running out of food? You shouldn’t? You should take necessary measures to stock up food and water and grow a garden if you can. If you fall prey to fear, you will be overtaken.
Instead, understand what is coming – and is already at the door – and make plans for yourself and your family. While God does not want us to fear, He also wants us to use His wisdom to know how we should prepare for these events.
Yes, these are dark days. However, I firmly believe that Christians have the best reason in the world to be filled with His joy, while overcoming the circumstances that are thrown in our paths. We worship the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! He will never leave or forsake us!
Islam is coming at us from all sides. Godless leaders are doing what they can to bring this country to its knees. Satan is doing everything he can to break into our world from his dimension in a more concerted effort than ever before. So? Our job is to be as gentle as doves and as wise as serpents (cf. Matthew 10:16). With that attitude, nothing can overcome us. We need to be aware of what is going on in our world. This is a must. We do not, however, need to fear any of it. God will supply the wisdom necessary to push through these problems with aplomb. God is GREAT!
God is still on the throne and in fact, has never for one second been off of it! Authentic Christians need to start acting as if we believe it. Praise be to the God we serve!

I, too, seen the resemblance to the Muslim crescent. In my searching I also found it connected to witchcraft and the occult. Sun and moon has long been symbols used in false religions. The star has also been commonly used in astrology and the worship of mythological “gods”.
Another concern I have about Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society is their support of embryonic stem cell research. I question the morality of using embryos in this manner, especially when so much more has been discovered from adult stem cell research!
I have supported and worked in Relay For Life events in the past, but will not be involved in the future.

Great discussion above. Thanks for ALL the insight. I am simply commenting here to also voice my concern that the ACS/Relay for Life logo instantly made me think “Islam.”
I too am a Christian, I make NO apologies for that. And, my wife is a cancer survivor, as is my sister. BUT, just because I am a Christian, and we participate in the Relay for Life does NOT mean there isn’t hidden meaning behind the logo.
The Susan Komen “Race for the Cure” has raised millions for cancer research, all the while, being one of the largest donors to Planned Parenthood. This is NOT a “Christian” organization, it’s a secular group. That isn’t to say there aren’t pro-choice Christians.
My point is, just because there are good, Christian people who participate in something, doesn’t mean that the agenda of said organizations are all pure. That’s like saying, if I stand in a garage, I must be a car.
I am a pastor, and I have had people warn me about being in the ministry because they are all perverts. Why? Because of the fall of a couple of very public TV evangelists and the Catholic child sex scandal. Are there even a handful of my peers who are like that? No, but I am associated with the few. Christians are denigrated in every public forum available, even though the vast majority are wonderful, God-fearing people who live by the great commandment, “Love the Lord your God with all your, with all your soul, and with all your strength… And, Love your neighbor as yourself…”
Sorry, my Muslim friend, sadly, the same is true of you. And because your holy book, which reinforces the supposed “eronious” notion that Islam is NOT a peaceful religion, the radicals are getting the press, and your religion is growing at a staggering pace in comparison to Christianity.
Do I think there is a conspiracy? Not per sey, but, I do think the Bible speaks of this, so it does not come as a surprise to me.

There are many Christians involved in the Relay for Life and I and my wife are two of them. When I say we are Christians, I say that, we believe that man is depraved, unable to satisfy God’s demand for keeping the law without ever sinning one time. Man is a lost creature that deserves God’s wrath be poured out on him. That God in his love, sent his Son Jesus Christ to live in human flesh, all the while also being God, lived a perfect sinless life and then died on the cross to satisfy God and Jesus being our high priest, we put on his righteousness and he puts on our sin and we are made whole.
I qualify who I am in Christ, because anyone can claim to be a Christian and as the bible tells us that most will reject Christ. So now that I have explained I do know Jesus, I am saying we need to be oh so very careful that we do not jump to conclusions without having full knowledge. Just because this logo may look like something Islam uses, does not mean that was the intent when designing this. Homosexuals use the rainbow as a symbol of their perverted life style, but we know this symbol was God’s promise not to flood the earth again.
The relay for life starts on Friday evening and ends on Saturday morning and the logo has the moon and stars showing that Friday start and then we see the rays of sun for the Saturday ending of the relay. It may just be a coincidence that because of the nature of the relay that the logo has this look.
I am all for research on this and if someone has rock solid proof that this logo is connected to Islam, I want to know, but if it is not, lets not let this hurt an organization that helps many like myself that have suffered or are suffering from the ravages of cancer.

I saw the relay logo for the ACS online yesterday and was immediately taken by it resembling the Islamic symbol. So much so, that I did a quick search online for anyone else who had experienced the same whoaaa feeling. Although I didn’t find anything initially, when I put in 2 different search terms today and found this blog I certainly felt validated. You are not crazy. It nearly leapt off the page for me. How no one in the ACS could notice it would surprise me. Love to know who designed it. I’ll do some research and let you know what I find out. Enjoyed your post. Be well. God bless.

I’d like to apologies for the first part of my post, I did not intend to call you stupid, instead I meant to put accross how you blew up the logo used to dig at parts of Islam, I don’t think I explained that clearly. Apologies if you took that the other way.
I agree with you golden, however I do not think that these type of Muslims are outnumbered. OK, maybe the 99.9% figure was exaggurative, but I was wanting to spark up some debate 😉
I have in fact read the Quran and many hadith, and while it does say Muslims should defend their people and religion if it means killing, that is only if another group of persons is threatining to kill/eradicate them. It also explicabely says that one should spread the word of Islam peacefully, and respect other religions. That is Jihad. Jihad is not the hate-filled attacks that the modern world has come to assosciate with, and I am not taking away harmful parts of the Quran, since there isn’t anything to hide which encourages attacks on innocent people for no reason as you put forward. Indeed, as one verse says, ‘one who kills another human being is as if they killed mankind, and one who saves another human being, is as if they saved mankind’. The true case is that radicals read the Quran in an entirely different way, and this isn’t the correct way as you suggest.
And also, in no way does Islam encourage lying to spread it’s word. You say that I haven’t read the Quran, but what claim to have studied seems to be some dodgy copy made by some western hate group against Islam, spinning its words to prove false quotes. Allah hates those who lie, and this is put forward very clearly. One shouldn’t lie, and one shouldn’t force others to become a Muslim, so your claims are completely untrue. Radicals may think that, but they are radicals, radicals do not represent Islam! I’m not denying there is such thing as radicals, nor am I defending them, however you appear to have gone under the interpretation that the words of the radicals is the true word. Perhaps read the true, Arabic Quran, not a translation.
@ Nelson, I fail to understand the reasoning behind your claims with Jesus. You say Jesus was crucified because he claiming to be God, which is wrong in Christianity and Islam. Plus, you say that Allah claims to be the only God. Doesn’t Christianity say the same? God is one? So therefore, under your reasonings, the Christian Jesus is a false Jesus?
And also, can I just set something clear which it appears some fail to understand. Allah is not ‘our’ Allah, Allah is not different from God. They are the same, Allah is simply the arabic word for God. A Christian who speaks Arabic would call God ‘Allah’, it is not a ‘Muslim’ word, since the word itself has been around since the arabic language itself was formed, long before Islam itself was founded.

No worries. No apology is necessary.
Currently, Muslims make up roughly 23% of the world’s population, which translates to 1.4 billion out of a total world population of 6.8 billion. Of those, I believe you will find a far greater percentage of Muslims who are radical than the less than 1/10 of a percent you claim (based on your statement that 99.9% of Muslims are peaceful).
For instance, Dearborn, MI has become known as “Dearbornistan” simply because it is clear that the Muslims there are not at all interested in living by anything except Sharia law. Do YOU live by Sharia? The population of Muslims has grown significantly in Dearborn, as well as in places like Murphreesboro, TN. The difficulty is NOT that these individuals want to practice their religion. The actual difficulty is that these people do NOT want to be bothered with U.S. Constitutional law in civil OR criminal matters. This is a growing concern in the areas of the country in which Islamists move to and live.
We have seen this and the problems that have been caused by it in The Netherlands because Geert Wilders was arrested and charged with “hate-speech” because he spoke out about Islam with his concerns. This has been happening in France, Australia, Belgium and other places that I mentioned previously. It is even beginning to happen in Canada.
In a nutshell, we in the west are aware of the two main interpretations of Islam. On one hand, you have the moderate Muslim who sees “jihad” as the “inner struggle” and seeks to live a life of peace. On the other hand, you have the radical Muslim who sees “jihad” as the violent physical struggle against all enemies of Islam. To the radical Muslim, anyone who is not Muslim is considered the enemy.
I would strongly suggest you do some research into groups like CAIR, ACORN and other Islamic organizations that routinely use Constitutional laws against America in order to support and enhance their standing and position within this country. Look at the mosque that many Muslims want to be built in the shadow of the World Trade Towers. If they really cared about the people of America, they would move it someplace else. It is not as if NYC is devoid of mosques. There are well over 100 of them. To put one right in the shadow of the buildings that once stood is repugnant. While we are being told that all people will be welcome in their “mosque,” that’s a lie because not all people WILL be able to worship WITH Muslims unless they ARE Muslims.
Here are some interesting quotes that you may or may not have read:
• Mohammed said, “Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him.” (Hadith Al Buhkari vol. 9:57)
• Sura 5:51: “O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: they are but friends and protectors to each other. And he among you that turns to them for friendship is of them.”
• Sura3 3:64: “Verily Allah has cursed the Unbelievers (whom he defined as Christians in the 5th surah “Believers, take not Jews and Christians for your friends.) and has prepared for them a Blazing Fire to dwell in forever. No protector will they find, nor savior. That Day their faces will be turned upside down in the Fire. They will say: ‘Woe to us! We should have obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger!’ ‘Our Lord! Give them double torment and curse them with a very great Curse!’”
• Of the Unbelievers: Sura 4:89 “seize them and slay them wherever you find them: and in any case take no friends or helpers from their ranks.”
• “Slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush.” (Sura 9:5)
• 4:101 “When ye travel through the earth, there is no blame on you if ye shorten your prayers, for fear the Unbelievers May attack you: For the Unbelievers are unto you open enemies.” 4:102 “For the Unbelievers, Allah has prepared a humiliating punishment.”
• 8:19 “(O Unbelievers!) if ye prayed for victory and judgment, now hath the judgment come to you: if ye desist (from wrong), it will be best for you: if ye return (to the attack), so shall We. Not the least good will your forces be to you even if they (were multiplied: for verily God is with those who believe!”
• 8:59-60 “Let not the unbelievers think that they can get the better (of the godly): they will never frustrate (them). Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of God and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom God doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of God, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly.”
• Sura 2:187-189 “And kill them wherever ye shall find them, and eject them from whatever place they have ejected you; for civil discord is worse than carnage: yet attack them not at the sacred Mosque, unless they attack you therein; but if they attack you, slay them. Such the reward of the infidels…Fight therefore against them until there be no more civil discord, and the only worship be that of God: but if they desist, then let there be no hostility, save against the wicked.”
• Sura 9:29-33 “Make war upon such of those to whom the Scriptures have been given as believe not in God, or in the last day, and who forbid not that which God and His Apostle have forbidden, and who profess not the profession of the truth, until they pay tribute out of hand, and they be humbled.”
• “Take not the Jews and Christians for friends … slay the idolaters [infidels] wherever ye find them. …Fight against those who … believe not in Allah nor the Last Day” (Sura 5:51; 9:5,29,41).
• Mohammed said: “No Muslim should be killed for killing a Kafir (infidel).”(Hadith vol. 9:50)
• Sura 9:3: “Allah is not bound by any contract or treaty with non-Muslims, nor is His Apostle.”
You might argue that I am taking those quotes out of context, but in truth, there is precious little context to the Qur’an. It is not like the Bible, which is filled with narrative.
I could go on and on, but you said you’ve read the Qur’an and much of the Hadith.
Please understand something. Muhammad lived 600 years AFTER Jesus, yet he disagrees with what the Bible says ABOUT Jesus and we are to BELIEVE Muhammad? He stated that Jesus did not die on the cross, yet Paul the apostle as well as other apostles – who lived during the time of Jesus – knew full well that Jesus DID die and THE reason He died was for the remission of our sin. Without the shedding of blood, there is NO remission of sins (cf. Hebrews 9:22). Muhammad directly disputes Scripture repeatedly and he bases it on himself. THAT is his authority.
You say what I believe about Jesus is wrong because of Muhammad says so? To try and explain to you the Scriptural basis for the Trinity or for the truth that Jesus IS God is extremely difficult to do in such a short space. There are many areas of Scripture that point to this. Have you ever read the Bible? Let me just point you a few references.
John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” In other portions of Scripture, the “Word” is a reference to Jesus. He was in the beginning. When was the beginning? Before Creation. We learn in Colossians 1, that Jesus was BEFORE all things and that THROUGH Him, ALL things were made.”
We also learn in John 20:28 when Thomas said “My Lord and my God” TO Jesus. I have read arguments to the contrary from people like Bassam Zawadi, who is sorely mistaken because of his complete lack of chronological understanding with respect to the events that occurred in the life of Jesus. This particular situation occurred AFTER Jesus rose from the dead, not before.
The Islamist (as well as Jews, Jehovah’s Witnesses and others) all mistake the phrase “God is one” to mean that He is only one PERSON. The doctrine of the Trinity does NOT negate God’s oneness when it teaches that God is ONE, in three persons. There is a good deal of Scriptural evidence in support of this doctrine, but people have argued about it for centuries. You and I are not going to come to any conclusions about it here.
Regarding “Allah,” I realize that it is a term Muslims use for God. However, there is no way that the god that Muslims worship is the same God that Christians worship. It is impossible simply because the two are diametrically opposed to one another. I understand that it is an Arabic word for “God,” however to use it today is synonymous with Islam. If I began using the term “Allah,” people would assume that I was Muslim.
It is like the use of the word “Palestinian” today. Years ago, ANYONE who lived in Palestine was called a Palestinian. This referred to Jews as well as Arabs. Then Yassar Arafat came along and essentially took that term – Palestinian – and literally created a separate culture group, claiming that the “Palestinians” are a separate culture and therefore deserve their own land in Israel. This is nonsense. The “Palestinians” Arafat referred to have no unique language and no unique culture. They are Arabs and Israel is currently surrounded by Arab NATIONS.
None of this matters to the world though because as far as the world is concerned, the term “Palestinians” applies only to a special group of people who are at war with Israel and have been demanding their own nation for decades. The world in general is NOT aware that the term “Palestinian” used to apply to anyone who lived in Palestine.
The same thing applies with the term “Allah.” Because of the way the world thinks, if I use “Allah” instead of simply saying “God,” people will believe I am Muslim. To avoid that, I do not use the term. The reality is that the god of Islam is in no way, shape, or form, like the God of the Bible. Just read the inscription inside the Dome of the Rock mosque and you understand where Islam is coming from with respect to me and other people “of the book.”
I would like you to consider that within Christianity, we do not have to earn our salvation. It is God’s free gift to us (John 3:16). In EVERY other religion – including Islam – you must earn your salvation and the tragic part is that you have no clue until you reach the afterlife whether or not Allah is going to view you favorably or not. Why would you spend your time with a religion that keeps you in the dark?
Christianity promises through Scripture salvation to all who come to Him and that salvation is irreversible. The 8th chapter of Romans opens with the fact that those who receive salvation are no longer condemned and the same chapter ends with the promise that nothing can separate us from God’s love. Do you have these assurances in Islam? Not if you do not keep working for it and even then you can’t be 100% sure.
As far as I can, Christianity stands alone, yet people continually reject it because it is too simple. Even a child can understand it, but people don’t like that. They feel better working for something, even if it’s salvation that they can never really successfully earn anyway.

I have never met an Indian Muslim that I did not like. Here in India, Muslims are just regular hard-working people. That is because we took away the harmful parts of their Qur’an. Some of them even support Israel and the Indian army against the Arabs.

How can one know who the peace loving Muslim is and is not. Your Quran teaches you to lie to further your cause. If you are one that is peace loving and truly do want to get along with Christians and Jews, then you are a bad Muslim just as I would be a bad Christian if I denied that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God.
We learn about others by the fruit they produce and Muslims that hold to the teachings set forth in the Quran are dangerous and unpredictable. You could be my neighbor, doctor, teacher etc, etc… and one day when the Muslims in this country feel they have sufficient numbers can and will turn on the society of this nation and force yourselves on us. Muslims are very good at acting.
Off subject just a bit. Muslims like to say that we all believe in the same Jesus. Jesus was crucified for claiming to be God. Allah claims to be the only God and so this means the Jesus of Islam is a false Jesus. Jesus Christ the second person of the trinity came to seek and save. He gave his life for the Muslim just as much as anyone else. In Islam you really never have assurance of whether you will go to heaven. In Islam Allah bases where you will go based on your works. In Christianity you go to heaven based on what Jesus did on the cross. Your sins can be wiped out by his death, burial and resurrection. Dear Muslim, repent today and put your faith in Jesus Christ and know for sure today where you will spend eternity. Jesus has paid the way for you to be accepted.

Now I may be a little (ok alot) late posting this, but I really think this is a stupid article. Don’t take this personally, but what you have said is naive and unfounded. I myself am Muslim, a very unbiased, equal being, and I can say that 99.9% of Muslims are ordinary, peaceful, law-abiding and hard working citizens! But that tiny 0.01%, if not less, of false people with extreme views, not accepted by Islam itself, are blown up by the media, giving everyone (like yourself, as it appears) a false view about Muslims, making them think they are radical extremists wanting to force the word Islam into everyones mind through killing and murder. This is NOT the true Islam. You say it is Muslims spinning false facts, bringing hatred to the world, but think again about that. Really, who is it bringing hatred-filled conspirecies?
The above people have already proved you wrong about the logo, and I suggest that before you go posting about matters like this, educate yourself more on the topic, don’t just listen to the news. The news won’t bring you pictures of westerners and muslims working together in harmony, muslims practicing their religion in peace. No, they’ll show you what you’ve explained here. Now stop expanding false, self-created propaganda, and try working on making this world work, as one, together, in harmony, rather than posting dull-minded and unfounded hatred which will only take us backwards.

I do not know anyone – Muslim or not – who is unbiased as you say. In fact, some of your comments disprove it. Are you aware of how Muslims have created “No-Go Zones” where only Sharia law is practiced? Do you know what is going on in France, Australia, Belgium and other places?
You are blaming my naivete on the NEWS? Which news? CNN, HLN, and many liberally-based news bureaus do not blow anything out of proportion. In most cases they do not report ENOUGH because they are afraid of angering Muslims who will respond with violence.
There are many Muslims who believe that Islam WILL rule the world. I’m sorry that you believe otherwise. How many times have you actually READ the Qur’an? How much of the Hadith have you read?
When you get done labeling me, calling me names, and attempting to belittle me with your vapid comments, maybe I’ll take some time to listen to you. As for me, I am well aware of Muhammad’s history. I have read the Qur’an and at least some of the Hadith. Whether YOU think you understand Islam or not is really besides the point.
Instead of blaming ME for “taking us backwards,” maybe you should spend some time talking to your Muslim brothers who will not stop until every Jew has been eradicated. Maybe you should go to The Netherlands where EVERY rape from the previous year was perpetrated by Muslim men against Western women. Maybe you should learn about the Muslim Brotherhood and maybe you should spend some time going face to face with Muslims who routinely beat their wives. Maybe you should spend some time in a country that practices Sharia law and stones people for committing adultery. Maybe you should spend some time in Egypt where peaceful/moderate Muslims are routinely killed (along with Christians) by radical Muslims because those peaceful Muslims are not radical enough.
Look, you may well be a peaceful Muslim. But I’m sorry, it is IMPOSSIBLE to be a “good” follower of Islam AND peaceful at the same time. The only reason you are so is because you are part of the branch of Islam that tends to allegorize the meaning of the Qur’an. Unfortunately for the world, there are way too many Muslims who take the Qur’an literally.
I don’t get what I learn from the news. I learn from a variety of source – books, social networks and alternative news sources. ACT for America! is one of the best sources to learn the truth about Islam. I hope you will begin to learn the truth.
It is amazing to me that if you speak the truth about Muhammad in certain societies, you can be arrested. If you deign to speak against the politically-correct view of Islam, you can be jailed. Ask Geert Wilders of The Netherlands. That was no conspiracy.

Muslims could take it as symbol of Islam, but to the best of my knowledge the logo was designed pre-9/11. Before that I think most of us knew very little of Islam and it symbols. Check out some of the Govt’s logos and you will see Islam all over them. Something that seemed to happen after the POTUS took office.

I do agree many organizations do have Islamic emblems in their logos, but I really in my heart do not think this is one of them. One thing I would like you to look at on the logo is the little triangles to the right of the moon. These are rays of the sun and this as I said in my other response is because this event starts at night and goes till the morning. I just think we have to be careful that we do not see something we may think has an evil intent without some proof that it really is meant in that way. I don’t remember what it is called, but on the NIV there is a emblem that is symbolic of the trinity and because some have used this emblem in for pagan purposes, some have said it means the NIV is Satanically inspired. I think the NIV is a poor translation, but I do not think it is Satanically inspired. Sometimes a symbol can just be a symbol with no malice intended.
I do appreciate you being a watchman on the wall. We need more like you and I hope you do not take my response as a negative. I read your article and post many of them on my Facebook and Twitter. Take care and God bless.

Whether or not this particular logo is actually in some connected to Islam or not, I think more companies need to be extremely careful about their logos. Do you think it’s possible that radical Muslims seeing that logo might actually think it is in some way connected with Islam? It’s certainly possible and for that reason, American Cancer Society should have taken greater pains to ensure that it could not be construed as symbolic of Islam in any way. They could have made the sun, its rays, and the stars more obvious. As it is, I’m sure I’m not the only one who thought of Islam after seeing it.

Fred I normally agree with you on many things, this one I don’t. I have been personally involved in this event for the last 15 yrs and actually this event has many good sound Christians involved. The reason for this logo is the fact that it starts on a Friday evening and continues til Saturday morning. It is an all night event, hence the moon and star. One of the slogans is ‘The Night of the Stars’, talking about cancer survivors.
As I am writing this I am at a Lamb and Lion Bible conference here in Allen TX and one of the subjects is Islam. I am a student of Islam in America and I know this logo is not a subliminal endorsement of Islam.
As a cancer survivor I am making a request I have never made of anyone. Please take this article off the web, so that it does not start rumors and hurt an organization that helps people like me and others that have had their lives turned upside down by this horrible disease.

Thanks for the information, Nelson. While it’s certainly possible that the American Cancer Society is not connected – either directly or indirectly – with Islam, the problem is that there are way too many organizations that DO use the crescent and star as part of their logo.
I’ll continue to do more research on the subject. You may wish to do the same. For instance, here is a book, written by a doctor and cancer survivor, who lambastes both the National Cancer Institute and the American Cancer Society. The book is called National Cancer Institute and American Cancer Society: Criminal Indifference to Cancer Prevention and Conflicts of Interest.
