Britain Exits from the European Union (EU)

Will other countries follow suit?

Will other countries follow suit?

Well, things are changing over across the pond. The conservatives in England have voted to withdraw from the European Union (EU) to the chagrin of Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel, President Obama, and other world leaders. People have had it and the only ones who resolutely fail to see that are those on the left who have forced every country that is part of the EU to open its doors to “refugees” from war-torn areas of the Middle East.

To the average person who doesn’t understand what has happened that led England to this point, the truth is that many of the conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa in Muslim countries were fomented by world leaders who called it “Arab Spring.” In reality, it most likely had to do with toppling existing regimes (Mubarak, Qaddafi, and the constant attempts with Assad in Syria), replacing them with puppet governments that would immediately become beholden to either the United States, the EU, a combination of both through massive “loans” forcing new leaders to do the bidding of the west.

Another reason these conflicts and skirmishes occurred is to not only gain a controlling voice or influence in those countries, but to redraw borders as well. Beyond this, the goal of moving “refugees” from some areas to countries in the EU or America without vetting them creates massive potential problems for those country’s citizen, not to mention the added financial burdens absorbed by those new “foster” countries.

Beyond all of this though, one thing has become clear. With the resettlement of these Muslim refugees, rapes, assaults, and crime in general has skyrocketed in the countries that have been forced to accept them. In essence then, it would seem that much of what is happening in the world has been fully contrived as a means to an end. The people of Great Britain have finally and collectively had enough and said “NO MORE!” They voted to leave the EU in spite of chiding and even threatening verbiage from President Obama, who during speeches to the folks in England acted more like President of the World, as he stuck his uninvited nose into England’s politics. It is likely that other countries will follow suit.

It is of course, interesting what many are saying, claiming, and predicting about this whole thing. Now that England is leaving (and PM Cameron has resigned), what will happen now? Will other countries follow? If so, which ones? What will happen to the EU?

Others are claiming they predicted this and it is a “win for God.” Such is the sentiments and voice of Walid Shoebat, who recently opined on the situation over there.

The trend we predicted has begun and the clock is turning in reverse of what many falsely predicted.

In the U.S. it will be Trump’s victory of Americanism vs. Hillary’s Globalism. Prophecy teachers for decades were dead wrong on the EU. They spoke of the European Common Market controlling the ‘buying and selling,’ that the EU is “the revived Roman Empire”, that the Eurocentric and the globalist one-world-government was this coming Antichrist, that the single European currency will become the standard, that the Treaty of Rome with all the nonsense will control the world … they were all dead wrong.

At least he says it like he means it. Like many, he believes Donald Trump will win the next election to become God’s “appointed” man of the hour. There are many who see him as a mirror image of Nebuchadnezzar. Unfortunately, these same people continually (and wrongly), connect America with Israel. In extreme cases, they believe America has replaced Israel and if we don’t do things correctly, God will replace America.

For the record, while many believed that the EU is (or was), the revised Roman Empire, I was never convinced. It looked promising but the final, revised Roman Empire will rise up from an area similar to the old Roman Empire. Certainly, in some ways, geographically, the EU seemed to resemble the old Roman Empire so there was always the possibility that it would become the final phase of the fourth empire as revealed in Daniel 2 and throughout that book.

But I also think Shoebat is getting way ahead of himself because he sees things from a completely Dominionist perspective. He believes that Christians are supposed to work really hard to take control of society. Once we have gained enough control of it, Jesus will be enabled to return to this planet physically. Our gift to Him then, will be global society that He can then rule. The absurdity here has been discussed in a number of articles and series here on this blog.

An example of Shoebat’s absolutely horrendous exegesis (interpreting Scripture) is seen in this comment:

The prophetic question many failed to ask is this: if a one world government is to take place or a European Union is to control the entire continent, how then will God “divide the nations”? How then will “nation war against nation, kingdom against kingdom” and how will God “divide the nations” “sheep from goats”?

He is clearly (though unbeknownst to him), mixing things up here. I’ve gone over the “nation against nation, and kingdom against kingdom” aspect of the Olivet Discourse of Matthew 24 and it is not how he is using it at all. He groups that with “dividing the nations” and “sheep from the goats” as well. Clearly, according to Scripture, the sheep and the goats judgment occurs after Jesus returns physically to this earth. The “nation against nation, kingdom against kingdom” is a Jewish idiom noting world wars, the first of which occurred with World War I. Shoebat is so far off base here, it would be laughable if it were not so sad. But we need to remember that he sees things from a completely Dominionist perspective and because of that, his understanding of Bible prophecy is completely skewed. He truly does not know how to “rightly divide” God’s Word at all and it doesn’t take long to see that by reading his articles.

He makes another statement referring to the above concepts, that is completely false.

For decades people ignored these key verses and have been fed hype about a single currency.

This is flat-out wrong, in my view. There have been plenty of people who know far better than Shoebat about these things and have written in-depth articles on them. Apparently, he has either missed them or ignored them. It’s not just about a one-world currency at all, but that is coming, I believe.

Shoebat persists in his ideas but what is fascinating is that he seems to not realize what he says.

And just in case you still persist in your view that south splitting from north as religious folktale, here is one major secular strategist, Stratfor’s renown George Friedman, just last month, he says that France will break up with Germany and will lead a “Mediterranean bloc”

Remember Nicolas Sarkozy, the past president of France? He envisioned a Mediterranean Union while he was still president and even had a coin to show the proposed currency for that union. I wrote about it the potential for the Mediterranean Union on this blog a few years ago. But I was not the only one. I said then as I state now, a Mediterranean Union (the one foreseen by Sarkozy), was actually much closer geographically to the old Roman Empire than the current EU.

It will take several years for sheep nations to split from goat nations. While the splits begin as result of national interest, it will take time and much turmoil to revive its Christian spirit which will only happen as gold is refined–through fire. This fire will be an internal revolution with Islam.

Again, Shoebat does not know what he speaks of here, in my opinion. The sheep and the goats will be physically separated into those two groups by Jesus Himself when He returns to this earth. Shoebat makes it appear as though God will do this or oversee this spiritually from the heavens as nations split away from one another. He’s simply wrong, in my opinion. His entire article from which I’ve been quoting is filled with one example after another of him yanking verses and passage of the Bible completely out of context to serve his preconceived notions. In short, he allegorizes much of Scripture, completely removing from it the normal, literal interpretation because of his Dominionist leanings.

In his article, Shoebat states that Great Britain’s leaving the EU is a victory for God. This is absurd because it implies there was a chance that God was going to lose in this epic battle! The hubris and knock on God’s sovereignty is extraordinary here.

I cannot stress this enough – everything that happens in the world is a victory for God! There is never a chance of God’s will not happening, ever. Yet, people like Walid Shoebat imply that God could have lost and God’s power is great behind Trump. The fact that Cameron came out against Trump (Shoebat believes), and ultimately stepped down proves (to Shoebat), that God has anointed Trump.

I am really getting tired of biblically illiterate individuals using the Bible as their own vendetta against the world as they push “nationalism,” which they believe is what God uses to push back the powers of evil.

What people like Shoebat fail to comprehend is that, according to the literal understanding of Scripture, the world will become one and the entire unified world will stand with Antichrist on the day that Jesus returns in a paltry attempt to keep Him from setting foot down on this planet! All is happening according to God’s plan.

Whether the EU completely fails or not is immaterial. Eventually, another “union” of nations will rise up and rule the world. This all may very well lead to the rise of the ten kings spoken of in Revelation 17. From these ten another will rise who will be the 11th. He will destroy three, leaving seven of the original ten and he himself will become the eighth (Daniel 7:24). The Bible is a holistic unit and must be interpreted against itself. Shoebat doesn’t do that at all. He simply picks and chooses which verses speak to him and seem to support his theories.

The final phase of the old Roman Empire – the Revised Roman Empire – will come to fruition. Shoebat’s Dominionist leanings do not allow him to see this and because of it, he also completely misunderstands current events in light of Scripture.

Time will tell what will replace the EU if it actually and completely falls apart. Know this though: something will and that something may well lead to the final version of the Revised Roman Empire of which the Antichrist will rise to rule the world. It will all occur because God wants it to occur. There should be no doubt about that.

I find it interesting that the ideals and/or goals of both Globalism and Christian Reconstructionism — i.e., Dominionism, etc. — have always paired together like ‘a horse and a carriage’ or, hand in glove, for that matter. (Hence apostasy at its best, or worst). At the same time, I find it ironic as the undoing of the ideals of the Global ‘Elite’ have gone to rubble (for a time and season), Shoebat, in ironic fashion, reveals those very ‘Dominionist’ leanings/sympathies in his theology and hence the irony. (!) Crazy. I, however, find Shoebat’s reference to the rise of this ‘new’ Germany via Islam an interesting one. In any case, for all that it is worth, a leader is to rise out of the rubble and fix what is broken, nevertheless — to restore what is once broken — and bring together, out of that rubble, a greatness (or abomination — depending on one’s perspective) that only the ‘Antichrist’ can bring…in what perhaps may be a ‘Revived Roman Empire’ after all, hmm. Only time will tell. But whatever scenario that may play out (geographically, et. al.), it is our redemption that draws nigh and draws nigh indeed.

Hi Everybody. I live in England and voted brexit and I am a Christian.
I am not a church leader or pastor or anything like that, I do not hold any formal religious or educational degrees in Thelogy or any other form of acedemia. I am just a plain Joe Bloggs.
I was called by Jesus to serve Him some 37 years ago and spent 17 years as a lorry driver sharing the Gospel message with other truckers. Then some 15 years doing the same in the railway industry. Since I retired I spend my time sharing the gospel with anyone who cares to listen. AND of course as always studying my bible and in prayer whenever I was not carrying out my earthly worldly duties which are also required by the word of Father.
I do not claim and probably never will, apart from a Balshazar feast type writing on the wall experience, to know the time line to the fullness of end times prophecy. Al I know is that I have been called according to His purpose to serve Him in accordance with the skills he has given me and empowered me to do and basically trust him for the rest. He Jesus is our hope of Salvation however it works out.
My simple timeline is Church rapture—-Tribulation—-1,000 year reign—– Jesus comes again. But I have an open mind on that and will continue to read pray research that topic until I have a better understanding. BUT i will stand or fall on my own understanding and not somebody else,s. I apologies if that sounds arrogant or full of pride but there are so many “PROPHETS” out there it is difficult to know who is standing on there own understanding and who is not. Therefore any final understanding has to be mine. My prayer is that as i STUDY KNOW GROW, His spirit will guide me into all truth whether that will be in this life or the next for our salvation is not on how well we know Father but rather how well He knows us.
I voted Brexit because to my mind any move towards ‘globalization / dominion ism ( another topic with which I am not totally familiar with but am looking at ) is not the express will of Father but something which he allows. As I saw it remaining in Europe was a move in that direction so I have to vote against it. Even allowing for your comments about nation against nation then, for the renewed Old Roman empire to become a reality, then Europe has to cease to exist as an entity as it stands at the moment. The Lord works together for good for ALL those that Love Him. I am always in a win win situation so long as I vote with an honest heart and a clear conscience and trust Him.
If you on the other side of the pond could hear the vitriol and insults that have been poured out on us poor uneducated ignorant people who did not understand the ramifications of the situation then you would probably understand the dissent of Satan in our leave vote.
Its amazing how Jesus chose the poor and uneducated ignorant people of His time to spread His gospel. Maybe he chose those same people to say no to globalization / dominion ism.; at least, not yet.
My thoughts are not your thoughts
My ways are not your ways
As far as the heavens are above the Earth,
So Far away are your thoughts and ways different to mine.
    SAYETH THE LORD.
Surely the task for Christians today is to spread the Gospel so that as many as can be saved will be saved before these terrible events off the end times come to pass.
Yes we have to be aware of the signs of the times but surely that should make our task more urgent for nobody knows the day or the hour ( depending on your own understanding of the timeline. ) So despite our different understanding of the end times eschatology if that is the right word, we should never cease to promote the Gospel of Jesus. Not every one who declares his name actualy bears it. The time of testing will find them out.
Thank you for reading and please be assured that I will continue to use this sight to help my further understanding.

      Hi Paul,

Thanks for writing and sharing your experience and insight with us. Yes, spreading the gospel is the main purpose of people once they become saved. One beggar telling another beggar where the bread is, so to speak. Keep on doing that and may God bless your endeavors as you seek to honor Him and bring Him glory.

I understand…print definitely gives you the ability to scan quickly…so many articles, blogs, websites, books and videos…and so little time.

Only reason I sent the links was because of all the pretrib guys making videos, his are best researched, and least hyped up.

How anyone can extrapolate that a revived roman empire (of some sort) is out of the question now, because of the Brexit, is completely silly. We have no idea how prophecy will be manifest in the future…everything is the world is changing at breakneck speed and as far as I’m concerned anything is possible…except Dominionism.

I don’t get it either, frankly. Things are moving very quickly and they are certainly outpacing Dominionism completely. The Bible will be seen as true, period.

No, I haven’t heard of Hallers. I’ll try to find the time to check him out but I generally am unable to sit through long videos. Articles are better for me to scan through.
