Wrestling Against Spiritual Powers

August 31, 2019 at 11:24 AM 4 comments

Ephesians 6:12 makes this very clear for us as to the war that we are all involved in. In fact, it is very easy to forget this so it is something that we Christians must remind ourselves of daily.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (KJV)

It is too easy to point to people as the culprit of the ever-increasing evil throughout the earth. Certainly, people are culpable whether they believe this to be the case or not. However, Paul states that the power working behind and even sometimes in and through people rests in the spiritual realms, realms we cannot see with our physical eyes. Because of this, it is very easy to judge on appearances, but it is much more important to look to the underlying and often invisible cause.

I’ve come across a few people in my life whom I believe were demonically inspired/possessed. It has been a bit weird. Ultimately, I believe the devil and his fallen angels prefer to hide themselves from us as often as possible. This again is made much easier because we cannot see the activity that exists within the spiritual realms we cannot see. We know that realm exists because the Bible informs us of this often throughout Scripture. Whether the examples exist in books like Daniel or Ezekiel (or other prophetic books), or in the life of Jesus or elsewhere in the New Testament, the Bible is clear that Satan controls his minions and together they work to overthrow God. To this end, Satan often “inspires” or even controls the actions of people here in this physical realm.

Here is a video that showcases an individual I believe to be possessed. You’ll notice as he exits the abortion mill, he goes right up to the individual preaching repentance. Notice also that his voice is weird and you can hear him exhale sharply several times, which sounds like growling. Then notice what he says and how he responds to the person preaching Christ. This man – a doctor – revels in the fact that he kills babies all day long. He says “I love it!” in an unearthly voice.

Notice also when the security guard woman comes up to him, his voice immediately changes to a far more normal tone and ambiance. Now it’s possible that the doctor is not possessed, that he is simply using a fake voice to make fun of or intimidate the preacher. I lean toward believing the doctor is in fact, possessed. It’s as if the demon(s) inside (if truly possessed), is responding for the man.

(Warning: if this type of thing freaks you out, it would be advisable not to watch it.)

Notice how agreeable the doctor is at various points. While he agrees he’s “evil,” he seems to delight in that fact. The female security guard smiles along with the doctor’s responses. He agrees that he “loves” killing babies. The doctor states he will “never go to Christ” in repentance. He doesn’t “listen” to Christ. In this last statement, he is lying because he ultimately will stand before Christ for judgment and he will ultimately listen to Christ pronounce sentence on him. He agrees with the preacher that he has a “darkened” heart (“I do have a darkened heart, yeah. I do…I do…very much so”). Then he agrees he will stand before God in judgment. Demons lie all the time because the devil lies and they simply imitate what he does because they know it works where humans are concerned all too often.

Notice at the 0:50 time stamp on the video, the security guard comes over to the doctor to get his attention. He turns to her and all of a sudden he has a normal voice and then goes inside likely to continue his slaughter/murder of innocent children.

According to Lifenews.com, abortion is the leading cause of death for black Americans to the tune of 20 million. History proves that abortion mills began because of racist Margaret Sanger’s hatred for blacks. She was funded in part by John D. Rockefeller.

You cannot willingly murder innocent children for a living and not be affected by it. You cannot submit yourself willingly to an abortion once, twice, three times or more and not be affected by it. The guilt experienced must be overwhelming and while my heart goes out to these moms and doctor-murderers, they are still accountable for their actions.

Does God forgive? Of course He does and He proves this over and over again, but people need to be willing to recognize their own guilt and confess it.

If the doctor in the above video is ever awakened to his own evil, confesses it and asks for God’s forgiveness, it would be granted. However, it is hard to believe that this would occur in such a man who is likely so far gone (and quite possibly possessed) that he has little to no free reign over his own life anymore because he is fully subjugated by demons and/or the weight of his own guilt.

But God is the God of miracles and release. Jesus came to set the prisoner free and He evidenced that many times during His public ministry here on earth.

I commend the preacher who was respectful and calm to the doctor in the face of the evil that he presented. Note the preacher didn’t get angry. He didn’t become emotional. He didn’t get sarcastic. He simply preached the truth to this man who so desperately needed to hear it. There are many videos on the ‘Net like this where street preachers calmly and quite ably deal with crazy people to those who are likely possessed by demons. Thank God they do what they do because it may be through their contact with these imprisoned people that truth will eventually set them free.

It is a reminder to us that it can be too easy to focus on the people we come in contact with as being the “problem” when in fact, it is the power that inhabits them that is actually the problem. While the person is not innocent and may be possessed or demonized in some form due to their own choices, the tragedy is that what they’ve become is heart-wrenching and their release can only be created by Jesus, who came to set the prisoner free.

Let me end this with a section of Scripture that I come back to constantly; 2 Timothy 3:3-5.

1 But understand this: In the last days terrible times will come. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, without love of good, 4 traitorous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Turn away from such as these!

A person does not have to be possessed to become like this, however, it will happen much quickly and more powerfully with the presence of demons acting from within a person. The abortion doctor seen above could have simply started feeling guilt over his murderous profession. Instead of allowing his guilt to guide him to God, he eventually seared his own conscience, giving himself over to the demons that (may) reside within him.

The abortion industry is today’s worship of “Molech.” Centuries ago, ancient people sacrificed their own children – passing them through the fire – in order to appease the various gods. They believed giving these blood-thirsty gods their own progeny would be acceptable and pleasing. Yes, it pleases Satan whenever innocent life is destroyed. This is far different from executing someone who has murdered another individual with malice (Genesis 9). The two don’t compare. The death penalty was given by God Himself to help keep order in society and as a warning to criminals who take another person’s life without considering the ramifications of it.

While many within the abortion industry argue that an unborn baby is not “life,” these same people will support efforts to punish someone who destroys an eagle egg for instance or they’ll cry loudly about cultures who painfully and brutally kill dogs for food or other uses. Certainly, these things are horrific, and should be categorically condemned, but how much more important are human beings? To those who support abortion without limitation, the only way they can do so is to teach and believe that unborn babies are not alive and are only human beings after the actual birth and then only if the mother wants that child.

We Christians are not wrestling against flesh and blood but against very powerful entities who exist in the spiritual realms. We must not forget that. Because of it we must have our armor on and we must realize that ultimately, it is God’s fight and it is He who fights against these powers. “Not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord,” (Zechariah 4:6).
