News and Notes Update: September 14, 2020

A few things to bring to your attention if you’re not already aware of them today, Monday, September 14th.

Riots in Lancaster, PA
A police officer shot and killed a 27 year-old man who began running at him brandishing a knife. The officer was responding to a domestic call in the city of Lancaster, PA. The officer’s video cam, which has been released by the police department clearly shows the officer come near the front door, a woman opens the door and starts to come out, when a man pushes past her and begins running toward the police officer, screaming and flailing his right arm in which his right hand is holding a knife.

Initially, the officer retreats and tries to run from the perpetrator, but then, turns toward the perpetrator and shoots. The perpetrator falls onto the sidewalk, with the large knife landing in front of his head toward the officer. The perpetrator died of his wounds on the scene. Because of this, BLM started rioting in Lancaster.

Yesterday, two deputies in Los Angeles County were sitting in their patrol car as someone came up to their car and shot them both. While bystanders shouted with glee, the two officers took refuge behind a concrete pillar and did what they could to protect themselves while trying to apply first aid to their wounds.

They were taken to the hospital where groups blocked the emergency entrance to the hospital and chanted that they hoped the two officers died. Last word was the officers were in critical condition.

What we are seeing of course are the results of Marxism that has swept society. The call to defund police is part of the Marxist campaign that has worked in other countries like Venezuela and of course, decades ago under Hitler’s regime. Defunding the police is necessary for Marxists to gain even more power than they currently have in society now. Many elected officials either refuse to condemn Marxist violence or urge them on by making statements such as “Chickens have come home to roost.” Several police departments like Austin, TX have been defunded.

This type of thinking is unconscionable, yet it persists throughout society. BLM and AntiFa – both groups founded on Marxist principles – have gained tremendous power in society because of their invisible puppet masters who pump tons of money into those organizations. We are aware of just how many corporations have donated millions upon millions of dollars to BLM. We are also aware of how both the NFL and NBA are either wearing helmets or jerseys with the names of police “victims” (in spite of the fact that often these victims have multiple felonies to their name).

Word of warning: if you go out, try not to go out by yourself and always be aware of your surroundings. Do not let down your guard. Pray always.

POTUS Tweets to Vote Twice
A few days ago, President Donald J. Trump took to Twitter to tweet out a recommendation, especially to people in North Carolina, a state that polls suggest he may lose to Joe Biden. You can see his tweet here, but if you go on Twitter, there is a warning covering it.

This has got to be one of the most irresponsible things he’s ever tweeted out. In spite of the fact that people are saying, “Oh c’mon, he’s not REALLY asking people to vote twice!“, he’s actually doing just that.

North Carolina has a Democrat at the helm. Do you think he will let it slide if he learns that people have voted twice – once by mail and once in person?

Consider seriously what our “law and order” president is actually asking people to do here. He is saying that AFTER you send in your mail-in ballot, then go to the polls and check with the polling people there to see if your mail-in ballot has been counted. If it has NOT been counted, then vote in person. How is this not voter fraud? How is he not encouraging people to break election laws?

Some have already said, “Hey, if I mail-in my ballot and it doesn’t get counted, then I have every right to vote in person!” No, you don’t.

If you’ve already voted by mail, chances are great that counting all mail-in ballots will take a great deal of time. It’s not “automatically” registered like voting in person. People have to open the ballot, cross check and then count the vote on the ballot. If thousands and thousands of people vote by mail, this will take a great deal of time to finalize. Don’t expect results by November 4.

So, in the meantime, after you’ve voted by mail, you decide to take POTUS’ recommendation and go in person to check and see if your mail-in ballot was counted. If they show it has not been counted yet, then you decide, “Well, no one’s going to steal MY vote!” and then stand in line to vote again…IF they let you because you’ve just told them you mailed in your ballot.

But let’s say you are allowed to vote in person (after mailing in your ballot that most likely has not been counted yet). So you vote. “There, that’ll show them!”

Months or a few years later, the police come knocking on your door with a warrant for your arrest for voting twice, a felony. You’re hauled off to the police station and booked. Now, your legal troubles are just beginning. Your argument that you went to the polls physically to find out if your mailed in ballot had been counted won’t help you out at all.

Why not? Because if you were able to go to the polls to check on whether or not your mail-in ballot was actually counted, then you could’ve gone there in the first place to actually place your vote, correct? So why didn’t you? Then there would be no question that you voted and your vote counted.

Why is President Trump doing this? He has to know that what he is suggesting could end up biting people hard. Does anyone really think that President Trump will pay for your attorney to help you in your legal dispute with the state over voting twice?

The whole thing is absurd and even though I don’t agree with social media’s attempts to censor, they were right in this instance of placing a warning over his tweet, noting that what he tweeted goes against established election laws.

However, on the other side of the issue, it once again proves that Twitter, Facebook and other social networks who place warnings or “fact check” information posted by average people, are nothing less than PUBLISHERS of information. Their status needs to be changed by Congress so they can be sued.

I truly hope no one is even considering doing what President Trump is recommending. If you vote by mail, then try to vote in person and succeed, you will be guilty of breaking elections laws. DO NOT DO THAT.

I’m not sure how President Trump can continue to tweet about being the “law and order” president, when he is clearly pushing people to commit voter fraud, but maybe that’s just me?

Grace Community Church’s Woes
The state of California and specifically the county of Los Angeles gained a victory against John MacArthur and Grace Community Church last week.

Officials in Los Angeles County convinced a judge to shut down indoor services at a popular Christian megachurch after failing in four previous attempts in court. [1]

The presiding judge issued a preliminary injunction against Grace Community Church citing health concerns and mandates issued by Gov. Newsom. The judge’s ruling essentially prohibits Grace Community from, “conducting, participating in, or attending any indoor worship services.”

The ridiculous part of this is that the survival rate of Coronavirus is extremely close to 100%. Most of the people who actually do die from just CV are elderly with compromised immune systems and underlying health problems.

Since Grace Community Church restarted indoor services, there has not been an outbreak of CV infections or deaths from the people who attend worship. As Grace Community Church’s lawyers are arguing in appeal, the government does not have the right to abrogate or infringe on the First Amendment. In effect, there is no “pandemic clause” within the Constitution. The government does not have the right even during a so-called emergency health situation or crisis to determine who gets to remain open and who must close. This is absurd to even consider. Grace continues to meet in person and indoors.

In no other previous health issue, whether SARS, H1N1, H5N1 or even during every flu season, has the economy literally been shut down and the burden of draconian measures instated in an attempt to keep “society safe.” South Dakota, Sweden and other areas of the world that did not shut down, did not force masks and social distancing have weathered the storm and are now benefiting from Herd Immunity.

The more we social distance, wear masks, and remain apart from other people, the less likely our immune systems will be able to fight off ALL of the colds, flu bugs, and viruses that are constantly roaming around in society. In every previous situation, we’ve relied on Herd Immunity to help us. Now all of a sudden, that’s the “wrong” thing to do?

Christians are all too quick to point to Romans 13 as the go-to text that seems to say we must obey the government, but then they’ll throw in the “exception” to that obedience. The problem is that the government has arbitrarily decided that churches aren’t essential and should be closed until further notice, while allowing rioting and other businesses to remain open.

It is better to obey God than “Caesar” in this case. Even though the government is “kind” enough to say, “Hey, you can use Zoom, you can meet outside (if all of our conditions are met), but you may NOT meet indoors,” we need to see that for what it is and it is advocating something Marxist, something that is forbidden by the Constitution. We do not live in the Roman Empire. We live in the only Constitutional Republic and we have certain inalienable rights that cannot be denied by government. If no one fights against this absurdity, the government will force worse things on Christians.

You do what you need to do, of course. I’m not going to tell you what to do. As for me and my house, we will continue to take Daniel’s approach found in Daniel 6. There, we learn that certain men prompted the king of Persia to create an edict that prohibited anyone from praying to any god except the king for 30 days. The king, without thinking of all the ramifications, signed it.

These same men, who knew Daniel’s loyalty to God, immediately went and found Daniel doing what he did every day; praying. The new law had no effect on him. He opened his windows and prayed to God three times each day facing Jerusalem. Evil men thought they had Daniel where they wanted him and told the king, who had no choice but to throw Daniel in the lion’s den.

God saved Daniel by shutting the lions’ mouths and he was brought out of the lion’s den the next morning safe and sound. The king was exceedingly angry at the men who had used him to try to execute Daniel so he had them, their wives and their children thrown in the lion’s den.

As Christians, we need to realize and understand that persecution is ramping up, even here in the USA. It is all part of Satan’s plan to bring the final world empire to fruition that will be ruled over by his “spiritual” son, Antichrist.

Every Christian needs to answer this every day: “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve” (Joshua 24:15).

Anything else is serving Satan.
