New Age Beliefs
We started this series with our last article, Dawn of the Satanic Age as an introduction. If you’ve ever taken the time to read some of the well known authors past and present within what is known as the “New Age Movement,” which incorporates all branches of anti-Christian philosophy, you’ll likely read a great deal of ethereal-sounding language, making it often difficult to understand. Also interesting is the idea that what they present is somehow based on truth, though no proof is ever offered. People searching for hidden knowledge found within the New Age movement simply take it for granted that truth is inherent within the teachings there.

These authors generally speak of mystical things that was initially revealed to them through some other-worldly being. It very likely came with all the attendant feelings one would assume to be associated with the world of mysticism. These feelings were the very things that confirmed to their inner mind that it was/is truth. This is often how people determine truth today, via feelings.

Madame Blavatsky, Manly P. Hall, Albert Pike, Annie Besant, and numerous others do this. They sound so other-worldly that it is easy to see why many embrace their teachings because it itches their ears with forbidden knowledge.

People like Alice Bailey, David Spangler, Barbara Marciniak and other luminaries within the New Age are much easier to understand because they’ve written their books using today’s vernacular. Often, these people come right to the point and explain with clarity what it is they are trying to achieve and how to help you get there as well. Alice Bailey is one such person. She began what was originally known as the Lucifer Trust, but shortened the name to Lucis Trust for obvious reasons.

Lucis Trust has a direct connection to the UN. David Spangler is also associated with the UN as a consultant. Bailey and Spangler, along with others in the New Age constantly spill the beans to us, but for the most part, Christians remain unaware of what they’re saying because many do not see the need or have the interest to spend time researching the tenets of the New Age (which is again, modern day Satanism). That’s fine and it is up to each individual to decide for themselves. However, for me, I like to know what the enemy is up to, what they’re thinking about, what they teach and ultimately, how they are working to bring it all to fruition. It is interesting the way sports teams will spend hours watching videos of opposing teams to learn where their weak spots are and/or what to expect from them.

It is important to understand that the New Age firmly believes their revealed knowledge to be true. Of course, it is NOT true in any way, shape or form. However, there is a grain of truth in what they teach, just like there is a grain of truth in what Satan teaches. But as a grain and not the whole, everything they teach is based totally on lies.

Back to the Beginning
Let’s go back to the beginning to see how this worked with Adam and Eve. In Genesis 3, Satan had somehow gained the use of the body of a serpent. It appears that the serpent was a willing accomplice, which is why God later issued His curse on the snake. Satan used the body of the serpent to sidle up to Eve and began asking questions that contained a grains of truth but were still lies.

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? (Genesis 3:1 KJV; emphasis added)

Notice the serpent’s question, “Yea, hath God said…?” Eve responded with a lie of her own (which was actually the first sin), about not even touching the fruit. Just as importantly, notice God is labeled as the “LORD God.” Satan simply used the term “God.” Important? Yes, quite so. The phrase or title “LORD God” signifies God’s mercy (LORD) and judgment (God). Satan simply referred to Him as “God” signifying only His “judgment” and Eve repeats the error (below) in her response to Satan.

And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. (Genesis 3:2-3 KJV)

So immediately, God is seen as only “judgmental” by Satan. This suggestion is then taken up by Eve, who also sees God as only “judgmental” for not allowing them to eat of every tree. But God never said they could not “touch” the tree that was off limits. He said they could not eat of it; two entirely different things, although it is clear to touch it is the second step towards eating it, with the first step being lusting after it with the eyes.

From that point, Satan through the serpent called God a liar by disputing the fact that they would die. Satan said, “No, you won’t die! God is trying to hide the truth from you! He doesn’t want your eyes open so that you’d become like Him! See how “judgmental” God is to you?

Satan was a liar from the beginning, but let’s back up a bit. How do you think he managed to convert 1/3 or 33% of the angels of heaven to his side after he himself had fallen and these were all constantly in God’s holy Presence? Satan probably used the same tactics with them that he did with Eve. He discounted His “mercy” and also LIED to them. His misrepresentation of God’s character and lies managed to convince 33% of the angels that he, not God, was telling the truth. They certainly know now they were conned.

But why didn’t Eve immediately turn to the LORD God and ask for His help in her confrontation with Satan? Why didn’t she turn to Adam at least? Seems Adam was just standing around watching the whole thing (though some believe Adam was elsewhere and not even present). Eve didn’t turn to God because she was already in the process of wanting to sin! Because her view of God was marred by Satan’s misrepresentation of Him, Eve may not have felt comfortable reaching out to God. She had started to distrust God.

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. (Genesis 3:6 KJV)

In Genesis 3, we see quite clearly how Satan works. We need to pay attention to it.

Job Tells Us More
Moving to the book of Job, in the first chapter, we learn more of how Satan works. Notice clearly please that because Job obeyed God and he likely did so out of a very healthy, reverential and profound fear, God had placed a “hedge” of protection around Job. We don’t know what that hedge was or looked like. It could have been a group of angels directed to protect Job and his family. It could also have been simply a command from God that told Satan and his venomous helpers that Job was off-limits to them. In either case, it is clear that those who fear God and seek to obey His commands because of it come under special protection. This does not apply to Christians who deliberately turn toward and embrace sin, grieving God and possibly shipwrecking their own faith. In such a case, God will often allow Satan to attack these Christians in various forms for their own good, to help bring them back to Him (cf. 1 Chronicles 21:2 – 3).

So, it is natural to assume that if Satan began his fallen career in heaven by lying and extended that same M.O. to the first citizens of earth, we should have no trouble believing that everything he has done since has also been based on lies. When I read writings of Alice Bailey, David Spangler, Barbara Marciniak and many others within the New Age movement (Satanism), I expect to find lies. They do not see any lies at all believing the revealed forbidden knowledge is designed to help humanity.

Alice Bailey’s Fruit
Alice Bailey wrote about how to destroy Christianity.

  1. TAKE GOD AND PRAYER OUT OF THE EDUCATION SYSTEM
  2. REDUCE PARENTAL AUTHORITY OVER THE CHILDREN
  3. DESTROY THE JUDEO-CHRISTIAN FAMILY STRUCTURE OR THE TRADITIONAL CHRISTIAN FAMILY STRUCTURE
  4. IF SEX IS FREE, THEN MAKE ABORTION LEGAL AND MAKE IT EASY
  5. MAKE DIVORCE EASY AND LEGAL, FREE PEOPLE FROM THE CONCEPT OF MARRIAGE FOR LIFE
  6. MAKE HOMOSEXUALITY AN ALTERNATIVE LIFESTYLE
  7. DEBASE ART, MAKE IT RUN MAD
  8. USE MEDIA TO PROMOTE AND CHANGE MINDSETS
  9. CREATE AN INTERFAITH MOVEMENT
  10. GET GOVERNMENTS TO MAKE ALL THESE LAW AND GET THE CHURCH TO ENDORSE THESE CHANGES. [1]

Gee, where did she get these ideas decades ago, long before we saw any of this really begin to occur? Obviously, from Lucifer himself. Bailey died in 1949, yet these ideas sprang forth from the entity known as Satan (Lucifer to her, the “light-bearer”).

In the video I previously highlighted from Atliyan Childs, he notes that after he left Freemasonry and began publishing information about them, he received an email from a high-ranking Mason, who simply said, “We will not stop until every church is a brothel.” I have no doubt that they mean it. However, let’s also be very clear here that if that occurs, it occurs because God will allow it and He will allow it for His purposes and His purposes only.

This is what the entirety of the Bible reveals, including the fact that the dawning of the Satanic Age will occur and there is nothing to stop it. As I’ve said before, while it can be fine to be involved in political efforts to change bad things in society, we cannot put our faith in that arena. We must understand that Satan has been given the green flag by God to create the Satanic Age, which is the final global system of governance that will be the most terrible government that has ever existed. It is not an accident that this will occur, neither is it in any way, shape or form, a signal that God has somehow “failed.”

We will be back next time with more on this subject.

Dawn of the Satanic Age The Missing Key

    Hello Dr. DeRuvo,

How very true that “Christendom has become largely syncretistic in its approach to life” which is no different than the eclecticism of the New Age Movement, tragically. I find it sobering that the church today has become largely “pragmatic” in that approach as well in that result. In other words, a “if it ain’t broke, why fix it” mentality. Really a status quo Christianity comfortable and complacent in every respect.

This reminded me of the utilitarians of their day when you mentioned Finney as a philosopher. A “whatever works” mindset as it relates to pleasure and pain. The greatest amount of pleasure (happiness) with the least amount of pain. Apostasy to its favor really. Especially when suffering and persecution come into play.

I find it interesting how this kind of thinking/compromise took me to a reference from R.C. Sproul’s book, “If There Is A God, Why Are Their Atheists?” Though a little heavy handed with the Reformed/Calvinist perspective one would expect, Sproul does make an interesting case in what he termed (by definition) “practical atheism” among believers.
Practical atheists are simply “believers” who live life or their lives as though God does not exist. I believe this is what we are seeing today more often than not, Dr. DeRuvo. This kind of thinking has become far too common in Christendom by default (COVID 2020 did not help).

With all the complacency/stagnancy finding its way into the church, it appears to be the prevailing attitude. I believe the fear of persecution (not actual persecution) will add to the compromise (obviously) as the enemy continues to target the flock. Unbelief/doubt (self-preservation) will likely increase and take precedence over any hope, trust or faith one may have in the Lord (no perseverance/endurance). Easier said than done but this kind of thinking will still fall largely on the utilitarian side, unfortunately, and sobering to think about. The following article does not help with statistics like these the last few years to reinforce and remind us of the large tide of apostasy heading our way in the days to come:

All this aside, thank you for the encouraging articles, Dr. DeRuvo. There is no refuge like our refuge in Him as fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. (Proverbs 9:10). You take care and God bless.

Hi Eric, thanks very much for your thoughts and comments. Really appreciate your perspective.

RC Sproul makes some valid points regarding “practical atheism.” I think it will fuel the coming falling away, which appears to have already begun.

Thanks for the link to the article, which I will check out.

        Hi Dr. DeRuvo,

I noticed my typo as the book should read, “If There Is A God, Why Are There Atheists?” In any event, for all of the reasons stated, the tendency to slip into old habits of sin can creep up on us at any time and any moment, and with good reason reason we, as believers, must remain vigilant at all times and steadfast in our walk/faith more than ever.

Thank you again for your wisdom and encouragement, sir. God bless you.

Just curious how you determined that LORD means Gods mercy and that God means judgment. Thank you!

It is from the original Hebrew words in the text. God’s attributes are often seen and expressed in the various names He chooses to use for Himself throughout Scripture. The text in Hebrew literally is YHVH-Elohim.

Elohim denotes His power and judgment while YHVH – a Tetragrammaton – denotes his mercy according to rabbinic understanding.

It seems clear that either Lucifer even before his fall had no understanding of God’s mercy or he chose to deliberately ignore it in his dialogue with and temptation of Eve.

It would not surprise me to learn that Satan, who seemed to have no working knowledge of God’s mercy, expected that if he could successfully get Adam and Eve to sin they would experience only God’s judgment (like he did and will), with no possibility of any mercy from God at all.

      Fortunately, Satan was wrong.

Really helpful, Modres. It never ceases to amaze me how intertwined the redemptive themes of the Bible are..and also how perfectly predictable man remains. One thing that has always caused me to ponder satan’s deception is that as you point out, much of the deception contains some inherent truth that is the draw, but soon after the destructive intent of the lie becomes clear. Our LORD Jesus warned us that satan has no truth in him…yet he is a master of presenting his lies as truth, and sometimes they are based on “a” truth, but not THE truth.

Eve’s choice seems to go back to the issue of free will. If, as you rightly point out, Eve was already in the process of wanting to sin, how could that be since sin had not entered the human race? Free will was basically neutral at this point? Does free will fall under the category of the flesh? I have always thought so, and yet Her flesh was unblemished by sin, so the issue must be free will? The fact that God created man with a free will, and that eve exercised her free will in rebellion against God, in my judgment, destroys the argument of Finney-ism that with man’s free will he can will himself to righteousness. I understand at the same time, however, that without free will, man is not really capable of faith? Very rich ideas to ponder and I recognize that free will is not exactly the point of your warnings in this article. In the end though, and you will likely expound on this further, isn’t one of the main tenants of satanism the idea of “do you thou will”….so the will of man figures greatly into this concept of satanic deceptions.

Thanks for summarizing Alice Bailey’s agenda so clearly. We see this happening and it has been for decades. So, do you think the harlot system in the end times is the false church system of rome? Or, ecumenical movement/new age in it’s final state? I am reminded that the anti christ system hates the harlot and destroys her..I always thought that the harlot was the false church.

One thing this brings to mind is that Jesus promises the gates of hell will not prevail against the true church, his called out, regenerated and sanctified believers. The believer is kept and preserved through the Holy Spirit, and can not be unborn Or unregenerated or separated from Christ. So, with the last few decades of “decisional” christianity where thousands of young people go to the altar under no conviction over sin, and are emotionally committing to a church group, it is no surprise that we see the churches being overcome with doctrines of demons.

It is disheartening and heartbreaking to see the church system morph further into humanism and all its denominations and its man made methods…however one cannot help but see comparison again as it was in Gen 3..that given his own free will, without the redemption and in dwelling Holy Spirit, man will chose against God.

One last thing, have you thought recently that just as it was at the LORD’s first coming it is now in terms of Israel wanted their Messiah to be a liberator from oppression. They saw themselves under the heel of Rome and wanted to be in power. Much like today, many in the church system are fashioning a jesus that will be their liberator and give them power over their perceived oppressors. They aren’t sinners needing salvation, but victims needing liberation. This will likely be the new age pseudo christ they accept…he will promise to liberate them but is incapable of redeeming them and offering them eternal life. This is the biggest lie.

Free will is a tough one, Jen. Bible scholars have “argued” over it for centuries. I recall when I was studying for my Masters in Biblical Studies, one of my professors argued that free will tends to incline people toward sin. Paul refers to this in his letter to Timothy when he mentions the “elect angels of God” (1 Timothy 5:21), which is believed to be referred to specifically chosen angels. In essence, God specifically chose some angels to NOT fall with Satan and were protected from it. The same concept applies to those chosen to become Christians. As you can see, the difficulty arises from this regarding the possibility of truly having a “free will” to choose. At the same time, I see what my old professor was getting at with the idea that having a free will means a tendency toward sinning. It’s simply a matter of time.

Eve’s wanting to sin may have been nothing more than the temptation to complete the act of sinning. We don’t know how long Satan hung around the Garden and simply watched our first parents until he determined the time was right to make his approach directly.

Yes, Finney was more of a philosopher than a theologian. His heresies are still with us in many forms, unfortunately. Without free will, it would certainly be difficult to exercise faith, wouldn’t it. It would simply be knowledge, which is likely where all true believers will be in the afterlife (our faith becomes sight).

In my opinion – and I could easily be wrong here – the harlot system will likely include Rome, yes. In fact, it appears that the current pope is hitching his cart to Islam and Jews are also coming onboard to create a one-world unified religious system. I’m quite sure that Pope Francis will play some huge part in that coming system. As I say, I could be way off base here though.

Yes, sadly the church is being overcome with doctrines of demons. Sadly, with the “easy believism” that has been bandied about for decades, it should not be a surprise to anyone when more and more people depart from the faith. Of course, this has nothing to do with the true Church that God Himself in Christ is building. That church is doing fine. It simply appears disheartening to us due to the fact that there is so much heresy within Christendom (the visible church).

I believe because the true fear of the Lord is gone missing, there’s not the heart for living as God would have us live. In effect, Christendom has become largely syncretistic in its approach to life.

It seems that man will choose against God every time and proof of this is seen at the end of the 1,000 year reign of Jesus when a multitude of people are convinced by the recently released Satan that to follow him is better than following Jesus. Unreal, isn’t it?

“They aren’t sinners needing salvation, but victims needing liberation. This will likely be the new age pseudo christ they accept…he will promise to liberate them but is incapable of redeeming them and offering them eternal life. This is the biggest lie.”

Well said and very likely true!
