Camping’s Failed Prediction
Folks, it’s already May 22nd in parts of the world. There have been 41 earthquakes as I write this (5:12 PST) and one of them was over 6.0 on the scale (6.1). The rest were well under 6.0 on the scale.
Camping said a worldwide earthquake would occur at 6:00pm today. As far as I can tell, he did not say what time zone that was, however, since it is already May 22nd in parts of the world, his prediction was a huge FAIL!
In a large part of the world we are already into the morning hours of Sunday. People are sleeping or they are getting ready to head to church, or they are milking the cows. The rest of us are still watching May 21st wind down.
As my wife and I went about our business today, I made sure to talk to as many people as I could – store clerks, average shoppers – by bringing the topic up and then briefly explaining that while Jesus said He WOULD be coming back, He said we would NOT know the day or hour.
IF the Lord chooses to give Harold Camping more time to live on this earth, then I pray that Camping will stop this idiocy! He is no prophet and he cannot even rightly divide God’s Word! He should not be taken seriously by anyone, much less by those who are willing to turn over their bank accounts to him!
For those of us who are still in Saturday, tomorrow is another day. Could the Lord return? Sure. Will He tell us about it ahead of time? Nope.
In the meantime, what are we to do? Authentic believers are supposed to be about the Father’s business and that business is not playing guessing games with the Lord’s return or the timing of it. Our business is to be involved in introducing people to the only person who can save them – Jesus Christ!
