Lack of Discernment is Becoming the Norm

God gives wisdom to those who ask for it and it often doesn’t come with any type of ecstatic experience. It’s just knowledge born of wisdom and discernment. It’s very “pedestrian” compared to the antics that are on display at too many meetings and churches today.

Selfishness is Next to Godlessness

The people who live their lives doing only what is best for them (“I want my dog to roam around and not be fenced in” or “I’ll just toss this beer can here and someone can pick it up because I don’t want to get caught with an open container” or “I don’t want this litter in my car so out on the road it goes”), are thoroughly selfish people who have no concern for others. While they might dress the part of a Christian on Sundays, it’s the rest of the week that tells their story and offers us a glimpse of the reality that is their life.

Neflix’s Tragic Descent into Hell

I’m appalled. As I watched the trailer, all I could think of was that Satan and his demons actually managed to get a gig writing scripts and drawing cartoons for Netflix. It’s as though the denizens of hell sit at the writing table and literally spew their filth onto the television screen. It’s that bad. Yet, remarkably, there are adult fans of the show.

Quitting Coffee

What I do want is to be as healthy as I can possibly be with the number of days I have left in my life. I see people all around me every day who are terribly overweight, who shuffle along, use electric carts in grocery stores, and generally appear very unhealthy. I’m sure they’re not happy but they’ve not made the connection between what they eat and drink and their ill health.

Called Home

I really do want to spend the rest of my life doing what the Lord wants me to do. I’d love to hear at the end of it before I pass, my name being called and the veil that separates this life from the next pulled back. But whatever happens, I know that once I pass from this life to the eternal realm, that’s when I will really start living because the sin nature will be surgically removed by Physician Jesus Himself.

This and That from Around the World

That’s actually been the problem with churches today. I’ve talked to numerous pastors who agree that the church needs to “change,” to update itself, to do whatever it takes to bring the unchurched into the church. But is this the actual goal of the Church itself? In other words, it appears that many have made the Church something that is man-centered instead of God-centered. For too many, the goal or purpose of the Church is to mainly and even solely reach out to the lost of this world and that’s it.

18 Years Ago Today, America was Attacked

Vigilance is required by all God-fearing Americans. We cannot close our eyes to what is happening. We cannot simply say that “It doesn’t matter because God is in control.” While that is certainly true, He does expect us to stand and fight for what is right. If we can, we should live quietly, minding our own business, but those days seem to be gone. We are being invited into an ideological war whether we like it or not.

Impartations and Feelings

Too often Christians don’t see the obvious because they are too busy trying to see beyond the curtain that separates us physically from the spiritual realm. Sometimes, the answers are far more obvious but because of the way the pharmaceutical and food companies have brainwashed society, we rarely consider the fact that many of our health issues (including depression), might be connected to what we eat! When I began to wake up to that fact, it changed my life.
