Prophecies of Daniel 11, Part 12
These faithful Jews had right on their side. They fought to repel Antiochus, his general, and his troops. They were right in doing so because Israel was (and remains) a theocracy, whether that is admitted to in today’s world or not. God Himself created Israel from the Hebrew people He created from one line of Abraham’s ancestry. God created Israel as a theocracy where religious life – first the Tabernacle, then ultimately, the Temple – became the focal point of everything that happened in Israel. Without God, the priesthood, the temple, there was no Israel and by the way, of course all of that pointed to Jesus.

What Is Your Church Practicing?
vTo the Christians who are so concerned about taking America back, I would caution you about doing that while your church becomes infiltrated with error. Why are you not concerned about that? Why are you unable to know if/when error starts to creep in?
Why is so much error taking root in churches today? It’s because Satan has too many Christians chasing after this thing or that thing, or that other thing over there in order to “fix” society. In doing so, it becomes relatively easy to ignore the lies that are taking hold in our local churches.
Prophecies of Daniel 11, Part 11
Many students of the Bible today point to the Roman attack on Jerusalem in AD 70, under Titus as fulfillment of Jesus’ words. The problem is that nowhere is there any historical evidence that Titus did to the Jews what Antiochus did. There is no record or evidence that Titus slaughtered anything on the altar or set up any deity inside the Holy of Holies. In fact, records do support the fact that Jewish priests were the ones who actually set fire to the temple so that it could not be desecrated by the Romans. The Romans removed every stone of the temple and melted out the gold overlay as Jesus prophesied in Matthew 24:2, Mark 13:2, and Luke 21:6, but they did not desecrate the temple itself.
Prophecies of Daniel 11, Part 10
Once again Antiochus counted on the support of those Jews who had long ago abandoned following the Mosaic Law (the holy covenant) and readily fell in behind Antiochus. You know, when people allow themselves to become corrupted, nothing can usually change that. Money corrupts. Political favors corrupt. Is it any wonder that no empire lasts that long before it begins to fail? It is happening with America today and that failure will culminate in a complete collapse.
Prophecies of Daniel 11, Part 9
People who live to deceive are merely imitating Satan’s character whether they know it or not. Most of us at one time have been the “beneficiaries” of such deceptive practices and it never feels good, does it? It’s what the best con men are made of, with their ability to have absolutely no concern for others to the point that they will deceive them out of house or home and then move onto the next victim.
Prophesies of Daniel 11, Part 8
So with Seleucus gone, “a despicable person” rises up in his place. Note the phrase “on whom the honor of kingship has not been conferred” in the above verse. It would appear that this despicable person – Antiochus Epiphanes IV – did not really have the right to rule, yet somehow managed it. Antiochus Epiphanes IV was not the only son of Seleucus IV and was not necessarily next in line for the throne, but history shows us that he simply took the role of king upon himself. He also did more than that because he also made himself as though a god by taking the name “Epiphanes,” which means “God manifest.” This was also the term used on coins of that era.
No Enzymes? No Life. Just Ask Daniel
I believe that Daniel eating vegetables and drinking water was extremely good for Daniel because in a perfect world, people should be getting naturally occurring enzymes from the foods we eat. In fact, while I’m not advocating a vegetarian diet by any means (I like beef!), the article at Mercola states that we should be getting naturally occurring enzymes in 75% of the foods we eat. What is the best source for that? The best source is found in RAW (that’s right, raw) vegetables and fruit! Let’s not forget that God Himself did not forbid the Israelites from eating meats. However, there appears to be no greater source of enzymes in nature than in fruits and vegetables and raw ones at that.
Prophesies of Daniel 11, Part 7
Unfortunately for Antiochus, Rome did not want to have to deal with these types of problems and even though the Roman Empire did not officially begin until approximately 27 BC, elements of Rome were gaining power. The Roman Empire wasn’t built or installed over night. It took time, like any other faction that ultimately became an empire, whether the Babylonian, the Medo-Persian, the Grecian or the Roman. It took time to build momentum and power that allowed them to become ruling empires over large portions of geographical areas in that portion of the world.
Prophecies of Daniel 11, Part 6
It’s a fascinating trip that gets us from Antiochus I through the III. Ultimately though, God is going to get us to Antiochus Epiphanes IV, who is a type of Antichrist, or final “man of sin” whom Paul refers to in 2 Thessalonians 2. To me, it is fascinating how the Lord leads us right to the Antichrist’s door, but gets us there through concrete history. Remember, all of this involves Israel, which is why Daniel is learning about it from the angelic messenger.
Mindfulness is Simply Buddhism by a Different Name
People too often prefer to divorce contemplative practices like meditation, silencing your mind, etc., from religion, believing only that Yoga, mindfulness, and other practices are simply exercises that help people achieve a relaxed or focused state of mind. They do not necessarily see these things as connected to the metaphysical, religious and/or spiritual realm at all. For people who think that way, Mindfulness then is simply an exercise that one enters into to help regulate breathing in order to become more focused and intentional.
