What Can I Do About This?

The other day, I received in my inbox a post from Peter Halligan titled, “Intelligently written version of ‘the end of the world is nigh!'” [1] The article discussed Edward Dowd’s points about what he believes will likely occur this year, in 2026. Dowd believes that this particular year is the one in which things will break down in serious ways economically and globally.

The article was not written by Halligan. He simply reposted the article from someone named Kyle, called “Breaking the Spell.” In a nutshell, while the article itself is long and involved, there are three specific points that Dowd brings to the surface and elaborates on and they are:

  1. U.S. Housing Crisis – Immigration-driven labor shortage + affordability collapse = predicted 25-30% price drop over 2 years
  2. Stock Market Bubble – Valuations at dot-com extremes driven by AI speculation, expects pop in 2026
  3. China Crisis – Entering acute phase of economic collapse, will cause global contagion through commodity markets and supply chains

The article makes great sense. Obviously, regarding the US housing crisis, there is going to continue being a labor shortage because of the emphasis by the federal government on deportation of those who are illegally in the USA. Working in construction has put me front and center on the issue because, by and large, without exception, the majority of laborers within the construction field in my state are Hispanic. Many to most do not speak English at all. Due to increased deportation, the workforce that is needed to build homes and commercial buildings is drying up.

Builders are forced to hire workers who are here legally to avoid having problems with the federal government. This means that they must pay more for those workers, but finding construction workers is often not easy because not a lot of Americans want to do that sort of work. For myself, the thought of driving a dump around a residential neighborhood all day is not something I want to do that much longer. It is extremely boring and tedious work and I am not built that way. My brain needs to be engaged and when I drive a dump truck, it is not engaged at all, so it wanders. Everything is done using muscle memory essentially. It’s just not a good fit for me. However, I know some drivers who absolutely love what they do. Everyone is built differently. This will ultimately mean artificial increases in housing costs and home values. It really isn’t sustainable.

The stock market bubble. We’ve been hearing about that for a number of years. Because we continue to hear so much about the possibility of a stock market crash (due to its alleged “bubble”), I cannot help but wonder if most people don’t even pay attention to it anymore? I think that is due to the fact that most of us have zero control over the stock market. If what Dowd is suggesting regarding the problems with the stock market driven by AI speculation, etc., to occur in 2026, that will flow throughout all of society and rather quickly.

When the Great Depression occurred directly due to the stock market crash, no one really expected it, except of course, the people who knew in advance, as Tal Brooke in his 1989 book When the World Will Be as One, alleges. It’s interesting to consider that the stock market crash, which caused the Great Depression occurred in 1929. Now, by 2030, it will be 100 years later (101 to be exact), and this is when the WEF says it wants everything in place to welcome the new world order. The Bible alludes to the fact that when everything looks really good, watch out because destruction is right around the corner (1 Thessalonians 5:3). It will take the world by complete surprise and will be devastating.

By the way, the article also notes that the political bodies and the courts have been favorably putting into place laws that are designed to favor one particular group in global society, those referred to as the “protected class” members of society. Of course, these are the people like Larry Fink, Klaus Schwab and a host of other very rich and powerful people who control much of the world’s assets.

The third bullet refers to China. Since the Trilateral Commission helped China create its technocracy in the 1970s, China has become the world’s center of manufacturing. Many countries including the USA have offshored its manufacturing to China, which has hundreds of thousands of manufacturing facilities. The problem? Besides the tremendous loss of jobs, countries like the USA simply become importers and sellers of goods made elsewhere even if it’s “designed” in the USA. Because of its manufacturing ability, China has much more power than many other nations. Countries that are now only importers/sellers are fully dependent on China for the goods to sell.

It’s easy to see how, because of the fact that China has the lion’s share of manufacturing facilities and makes just about everything, the rest of the world is dependent upon what China produces. In essence, all other nations must wait for China to produce. Little is under control of the importing nation.

This, of course, is why Trump wants manufacturing to return to the USA because he understands how precarious it is for any country to have to rely on a foreign country for its goods. Too many Democrats and Republicans in Congress don’t support Trump’s position. Why? It is very likely those politicians receive tons of campaign donations from the very countries that Trump wants to extricate the USA from dependency on.

It is very possible that what Dowd believes will come to pass in 2026 will actually occur, but who really knows? Only God Himself knows the timing involved. Having said that, there is a very large question that the article does not ask, but I must.

What can I do about this?

The short and long answer is nothing. I have absolutely zero control over the stock market, the housing industry, the economy itself or other things along those lines. So when I read an article like the one I’m referring to here, the temptation is simply to become fearful. That doesn’t help, does it? Nope. On the flip side, since I cannot directly influence the stock market, the housing industry, China, or the fall of the US dollar, what can I do? Ignore it?

One of the things I can try to do is pay off my home faster. Of course, that takes money and even though we’ve been paying a few hundred dollars additionally each month that goes directly toward the principal owed, it still takes a number of years for that total to come down. The best way to deal with it is to pay it off, however, who has that kind of money sitting around doing nothing? Not many.

If what Dowd says is true and if/when the collapse comes and my home mortgage remains, then apparently, it’s still owned by the bank. This means the bank can recall the loan at any point and if I cannot pay the whole thing off promptly, I can lose my home. But since I’m not in the position to write a check for the remaining amount owed to the bank, again, there’s nothing else I can do, is there?

The article notes also that the original Great Depression is going to be replaced by the coming Great Taking. While Schwab and his ilk have been bragging to us about the “You’ll own nothing and be happy” garbage for a few years now, the article states that what they actually mean by that is that “You’ll own nothing and die.” How so? Well if/when they gain control of everything they have set out to control, our lives will be in their hands. They’ll own it all. We will own nothing. By then a digital ID and currency will likely be in place and if we don’t play by their rules, they can turn everything off.

If you want to see this in action, Beyond the Reset, an animated short film[2] captures the tone of the future under Schwab’s totalitarian and fascist control. Schwab even makes a guest appearance in the film. It’s 24-minutes of interesting watching.

All this is to say that while it appears as though the reality the future is in the hands of global elitists, it’s actually in God’s hands. In fact, what Schwab et al are able to accomplish, they accomplish only because God allows him to do so. Why? Because ultimately, all this evil, corruption and self-worship will bring God’s glory into far greater focus.

We as Christians, can either spend our time worrying about things that we have zero control over, or use the time to draw closer to God, learning to depend on Him in greater measure along with His help to get us through any upcoming dark situation. If we choose the former, we will live utterly defeated lives. Should we choose the latter, we can gain the true understanding that God is in control, that we have nothing to fear and that He will direct our steps and ultimately provide for our actual needs.

In the end, the vast difference between the evil the elite envision and act on, will be seen for what it is when compared with the striking and vivid glory of God. The greater the evil, the more God’s glory shines and that, as I’ve stated before, is God’s ultimate purpose in allowing evil to exist in the first place.

If you find that you are worrying over every little thing in the world that happens or might occur (I’m often tempted to do so), take it to God and do everything you can to leave it with Him. That may take some effort, but we need to get to the point of letting Him deal with it because we really are incapable of doing so. We are finite, limited by what we see, feel and experience. We need to spend time focusing on God’s absolute sovereignty.

Either God actually controls everything all the time, or He really controls nothing at all. Which God do you worship?
