First Draft of Book on Urantia Done

I’m pleased to say that the first draft of my next book, Why Should We Believe Them is complete.  Now for the rewrites and then off to the editor!

After studying these books especially The Urantia Book and A Course in Miracles, it is absolutely fascinating what people will believe when it allegedly comes from an “ascended master,” or “alien”!

Why Should We Believe Them?

That’s the tentative title of my next book currently in the works.  In it, I dissect the teachings and tenets of The Urantia Book, A Course in Miracles, Scientology, UFOs, and The Book of Life purportedly transcribed by Archangel Michael.

So far, it’s been a very interesting read on things.  A number of chapters have already been written (totaling 70 pages), but it’s a long way to go before it’s complete.  The main portion of this next book will deal with what The Urantia Book teaches on Jesus; His life, death, resurrection, etc. and of course, I’ll take the time to compare that with the Bible.  It’s been fun so far.

When necessary, I’ll bring in quotes and information from the other books I mentioned.  The reality seems to be that there are many ways to God, at least that’s what we’re told.  The problem is that if that’s the case, then Christianity is totally and completely wrong.  Obviously, I don’t believe that and while I’ve certainly tried to keep an open mind as I pour through the nearly 2,100 pages of The Urantia Book, it has become too clear that there are contradictions not only between Urantia and the Bible, but within Urantia.

I note with at least some measure of amusement that the people who are busy pointing out what they believe are contradictions in the Bible do so in an attempt to prove that the Bible cannot be trusted.  However, any contradictions found within The Urantia Book are normally overlooked or explained away without denigrating the book itself.  Funny how that works.

It will probably take me a good month or more to write this first draft.  After that, the rewrites begin and then it’s off to the editor.  Stay tuned to these pages for more on this and other topics.

Oh, and don’t forget that this Saturday, May 21st, Jesus is supposed to return, at least according to Harold Camping, the loon in Northern California.  He’s made a guess about this before and was wrong then.  I’m confident he’ll be wrong this time as well.  It’ll be interesting to read what excuse he provides for Jesus’ physical absence this Saturday.  That’s also going to be the topic of my radio broadcast on KAHI too.  Tune in if you get a chance at Noon on AM950 KAHI.  If you’re out of the area, head over to their web site at and click on the “on the air” button to hear it live.  That’s noon Pacific Standard time, this Saturday.
