The UN’s Earth Charter as the New Religion for the Globe

The Earth Charter as a godless religion

The Earth Charter as a godless religion

Way back in 1987, something called the Earth Charter originated “when the United Nations World Commission on Environment and Development called for a new charter to guide the transition to sustainable development.” Since that time, it has undergone a number of revisions, but the gist of it is the same. It is to bring the world to what is known as sustainable development.

The full charter itself is four pages long and can be found here as a PDF.

The Preamble states in part, “We must join together to bring forth a sustainable global society founded on respect for nature, universal human rights, economic justice, and a culture of peace.”

Interesting that “respect for nature” comes first, isn’t it? This is different from what God said to Adam and Eve and then to Noah. “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground,” (Genesis 1:28).

God was not telling us to “respect” nature. He was, however, stating that we should be good stewards of the earth. The Earth Charter’s Preamble simply states that we should “respect” the earth and unfortunately, we have come to learn what that means because of the “green” movement that has literally become the new religion of the Global Elite. Why is that? I believe it’s because they want us to live one way so that the earth will be around a long time…for them.

Also under the Preamble heading, the document states, “The choice is ours: form a global partnership to care for Earth and one another or risk the destruction of ourselves and the diversity of life.” I’ve added emphasis here to point out the reality that there are forces in this world who yearn to see a truly global partnership emerge between all nations. In order for to happen, someone has to be in charge, don’t they?

Essentially, the Earth Charter breaks things down to simply being “one” as a people, all living on one earth. “We are at once citizens of different nations and of one world in which the local and global are linked.” The document goes onto say, “The spirit of human solidarity and kinship with all life is strengthened when we live with reverence for the mystery of being, gratitude for the gift of life, and humility regarding the human place in nature.” Again, I’ve emphasized the last portion to point out the hypocrisy enmeshed within the culture of the Elite.

While they talk about the reverence and gratitude for life, they show no humility whatsoever because they are doing their level best (and have been) to overturn traditional values everywhere they find them. They are proponents of abortion on demand, which proves they are filled with deceit and have no respect for life unless it’s theirs. If you are a Christian and support abortion on demand, that should be a cause for concern. Instead though, you will dig in your heels and grow angry at my comment as if God supports abortion. You wonder, how could I not see that?

Almost laughably, the authors of the Earth Charter state, “We urgently need a shared vision of basic values to provide an ethical foundation for the emerging world community.”

We can assume then that as long as those basic values they speak of have absolutely nothing to do with the Bible, God, or Jesus, then they are ready to promote them. Essentially, what they will settle for are those values that are completely opposite of the biblical values.

As we continue reading through the Earth Charter, we note the principles laid out within it that are separated into four areas, with a total of 16 principles:

  1. RESPECT AND CARE FOR THE COMMUNITY OF LIFE
  2. ECOLOGICAL INTEGRITY
  3. SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE
  4. DEMOCRACY, NONVIOLENCE, AND PEACE

Many of the principles put forth in the Earth Charter sound reasonable. They appear to yearn for the best in humanity. Unfortunately, the way they are attempting to bring it about is through fallen humanity, which is guided by Satan himself.

Only in Christ does each member of humanity become a new creation as they commit themselves to Him and His service. Only in Christ does the possibility exist that humans can become what God intended us to be. Only in Christ can we bring true glory to God and reflect His image within us toward others.

Satan always has a shortcut. He always wants it done his way and too many unenlightened individuals fall for his charades and nonsense all because it sounds good. It produces a type of emotional virtue within people that makes them feel as though the Earth Charter is exactly what we need.

Unfortunately, the Earth Charter has no ability to make anyone better. It has no ability to save the earth. What it does is crush human spirits by killing opportunity and ingenuity. The Earth Charter essentially says “hands off the earth’s resources!” It diminishes man’s role and elevates nature above man. It denies God by ignoring Him. It assumes there is something within humanity that can overcome when there is not.

The Earth Charter is the new religion of the world. I firmly believe that the Global Elite does not buy into the Earth’s Charter, though they want us to do that. Ultimately, once they have subjugated all humanity, we will be the serfs underneath their rule. They will do what they want then as they do now. They only care about the earth because it means something to them. They want us to stop “abusing” the earth so they can control it and all of its resources. In the end, the Earth Charter is not for them. It’s for the rest of us.

In fact, it may well be that Revelation 17:16 applies to this. “And the ten horns which you saw, and the beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her desolate and naked, and will eat her flesh and will burn her up with fire.”

The ten horns is the same as the ten toes of Daniel 2. Revelation 17 tells us that these ten horns give their power will give their kingdoms to the beast (Antichrist). Once the Global Elite get what they want, they have no further need for the religion of the Earth Charter and will get rid of it.

The Earth Charter came into being in 1987. Here we are 26-years later and seems as though we are rapidly moving toward that time when the principles of the Earth Charter will become reality. In fact, many of the individual principles have come to pass already.
