Yes, It’s Treasonous, But Does It Really Matter If It Opposes Conservatives?

The one thing that seems absolutely sure today is the fact that the Constitution, and therefore, our rights, are being attacked as never before. What is truly telling is how many individuals (mainly Democrats, like AG Mark Herring, who says he will not support the state’s ban on same-sex marriage), are coming out in the attempt to overturn aspects of the Constitution and they’re not even concerned that their actions are treasonous.

Yes, I know using the word “treasonous” seems, by many, to be over the top. The problem though is that it’s true. Anyone who ignores or deliberately sets aside the rule of law within the United States Constitution, that they’ve sworn to uphold, is entering into the area of treason.

Because of that mindset, “thirteen House Democrats are trying to push a new bill, The Hate Crime Reporting Act (HR 3878), that will launch a new investigation into the use of hate language on the internet, mobile phones, television and radio. When they say mobile phones, they are talking mostly about the social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook and others.”

Of course, there are a number of problems with this bill. First, it conveniently overrides the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. That amendment states:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This is very straightforward, but apparently not for those who are either not aware of the verbiage or simply don’t care. Notice in the first amendment, while it specifically states that Congress “shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,” it also continues to declare that Congress cannot make laws that wind up “prohibiting the free exercise” of religion. Yet, this occurs and has been occurring in this country for decades. People continue to misapply (because they misunderstand) this amendment. We are talking about Congress making laws that either establish or prohibit religious expression. Too many believe that by placing a nativity scene on public property (normally property owned by local, state, or federal governments), it is wrong and they constantly cite the words “separation of church and state” (that do not even appear in the Constitution itself) to bolster their argument.

Look at the statement in the amendment related to freedom of speech. It clearly says that Congress shall make no law “abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press…” yet this part of the amendment constantly takes a hammering.

“According to one of the bill’s sponsors, Rep Hakeem Jefferies (D-NY), the bill is designed to study the use of hate language that is used to ‘advocate and encourage violent acts and the commission of crimes of hate’.”

Ultimately, who determines what is hate language? It’s patently ridiculous, not even considering the fact that the First Amendment prohibits such laws from coming to fruition. In effect, those 13 Democrats in the House are attempting to create a law that will wind up abridging part of the First Amendment. The First Amendment itself states that this shall not be done. It doesn’t say that it shouldn’t be done or might not be done. It says (like the 2nd Amendment) shall not be done.

We can then assume that these 13 law-makers are entering the area of treason because they are effectively attempting to overthrow a portion of the First Amendment. It is the same with the 2nd Amendment or the 4th, or the 10th. When law-makers stand against portions of these amendments (or any portion of the Constitution), they should be immediately removed from office and jailed.

It is one thing write a new amendment, which in and of itself is difficult to get passed into law. But it is quite another to create a bill that, if it becomes law, would effectively set part of the Constitution aside. That is treason and it cannot be denied. Yet, the left has little difficulty doing this because they are more concerned with political correctness (which is an ever-changing palette of seeming virtuous rhetoric. It is not based on the rule of law, or what is absolutely right and wrong. It is based primarily on emotion, or how someone feels about something.

The stupidity of trying to create a definition of (and a way to legally enforce) hate speech is never absolute and simply winds up stifling society. Beyond this, the only groups who benefit under the rules of political correctness are those groups deemed to be “minorities” within society. Whether they are women, gays, blacks, or browns doesn’t really matter. Ultimately, it is the same group that always loses – the white male because it is thought that nearly all other groups need a helping hand to reach the same level of equality that supposedly has existed in America for so long (and continues to exist, apparently) that the white male has enjoyed.

It is tragically absurd that this is what society is coming to, when the government decides what is considered hate speech (based on movable standards) and then steps in to adopt laws designed to curtail such speech by levying fines and/or imprisonment. Moreover, it does these things in spite of being forbidden to do so by the very Constitution that our law-makers have promised to uphold.

It is clear. Ultimately, the left wants conservatives to shut up. They don’t want the conversation. They want only their voice to be heard and they are illegally moving toward that end. Because of it, we will see more conservatives arrested and jailed illegally. Because of NDAA, it could wind up being like tossed into prison with the key thrown away.

The fact that those on the left are willing to put people in that position solely for having an opposing opinion is truly the worst kind of tyranny. Next time, we’ll talk about attempts to rewrite the Constitution during the 1960s. Guess who funded that effort?
