Does the Gaza Strip Really Want to Join Russia?

March 20, 2014 at 3:07 PM

gazastripIt’s always interesting to read the latest news from the numerous Internet sites. I long ago gave up on any and all of the mainstream so-called news bureaus (yes, including Fox News) because as far as I’m concerned, they all lie, often by omission. What they refuse to cover is too often news in the world. When they do cover it, they cover it bathed in innuendo or outright lies. Watching TV news is really pointless anymore. If you haven’t figured that out yet, maybe you will.

But with the various blogs, news, and opinion sites, there’s a great deal to choose from and it doesn’t take all that long to vet the information. In this latest case, only days after Crimea voted to secede from Ukraine and join with Russia, word is that now Russians in the Gaza Strip want to do the same thing. Russians in the Gaza Strip? I wasn’t aware that there were enough Russians worth counting there. But apparently, Russia is willing to defend them.

Of course, it’s important to understand that this initial information regarding the Gaza Strip comes from Russian news sources. According to Voice of Russia, the recent action in Crimea “has prompted the setting up of an initiative group that will draw up a proposal for the Palestinian enclave in Israel to hold a referendum on joining the Russian Federation, too.”

Hmmm, sounds like everyone wants to jump on the Putin train back to Russia! According to the report, if this is actually true, then Russia (aka Putin) would have a foot in Israel. If that doesn’t shock you and make you think of Ezekiel 38 – 39, then you haven’t read that section of Scripture.

For a number of years, people have bantered and debated the whole “Invasion of Israel” event that is highlighted in the Ezekiel 38 – 39 passage. There, God refers to a leader who comes from the north as Gog, who is in charge of Magog, an area north of Israel. Interestingly enough, people have argued about whether this area north of Israel is Russia (Moscow) or somewhere else, like Turkey. Maybe we’ve been missing something.

When Nebuchadnezzar attacked and conquered Jerusalem, he did so from the north. This makes sense because of the large mountain range on the east side of Israel. Who wanted to have to go over those mountains in his day? It was much easier to simply ride west then head south after he passed the mountains, which then would have been on his left.

Putin is in Russia. It’s an area north of Israel. If he turns out to be Gog of Magog, attacking Israel (the conflict that is highlighted in Ezekiel 38 – 39 has never happened yet, by the way), he would have to do so from the north, just like Nebuchadnezzar did. In 168 BC, Antiochus Epiphanes IV attacked Jerusalem and the Jewish Temple from the south, but that was because he was on his way back from a defeat with Egypt. Normally, he would have come from the north too. When he got to Jerusalem, he actually went into the Jewish Temple, slaughtered a pig on the altar, sprinkled the blood around, and according to Josephus, he even set up a statue of Zeus in the Holy Place. This eventually led to the Maccabean revolt and ultimately became known as the “abomination that desolates.” This is the same label that Jesus used in His Olivet Discourse of Matthew 24.

At any rate, getting back to Putin, Ezekiel 38 – 39 clearly speaks about a time in the future when Gog will decide to attack Israel. Interestingly enough God says He puts hooks in Gog’s jaws and turns him about toward Israel. Gog simply goes with the idea that enters his brain as a “thought.”

Over the past few years, the world has learned that Israel has large deposits of both natural gas and oil under the surface of the land. Most believe that getting to these deposits will allow Israel to become completely independent as far as energy is concerned. This is something most world leaders (including the Global Elite) never saw coming.

If Putin gains access to the Gaza Strip, could the next step be to fulfill his role as Gog (if he is in fact, that man)? Time will tell and right now, what we’ve heard is just that, hearsay. As the article I’m quoting from states, “But then, the report about setting up this kind of initiative group has thus far failed to be confirmed by other sources, as well as by other language versions of the Palestinian Information Centre, owned by the radical movement HAMAS, currently at the helm in the Gaza Strip.”

Certainly, I’m sure Russia (aka Putin) would love nothing more than to have Gaza Strip as part of a Russian territory. Think of how often he would visit there. At the same time, the Gaza Strip is doing quite well economically, something that the mainstream news of all colors and stripes never points out. There are resorts, high-end shopping malls, and excellent places to live in the Gaza Strip to be sure. As one example, just a few years ago, so-called Palestinians invested $20 million in new resorts for Gaza. Gaza Strip is nothing like the mainstream media would have us believe – nothing.

Like everything else, including Ukraine, Crimea, Russia, and the U.S., we’ll learn over time just what is truth and what is propagandist fodder. The war of words continues between the U.S. and Russia over Ukraine. Crimea made their wishes known via a democratic vote, which the U.S. says won’t be recognized. This is hilarious because in President Obama’s books, he talks about how much he hated the U.S. for its colonialism, which continues at a greater pace under Obama. But when Russia tries it, President Obama condemns their actions. Talk about hubris giving birth to hypocrisy!

I’m certainly not convinced that the people of Gaza want to join Russia. However, this could also be Russia’s way of spreading propaganda to plant the seed. It’s an Alinsky tactic that is simply not used just in America.

We will see where all of this goes and hopefully, soon. In the meantime, turn off the TV, do your own research and see what you can find. The talking heads will still be there when you turn the TV back on again.
