Face It: Anti-Semitism is Fully Satanic, Pt 2

Last time, we introduced the subject of Antisemitism and talked about the fact that it is very much alive, well, and increasing. This is in spite of the lessons learned from the Holocaust under Adolf Hitler’s Nazis. There is no room to be Antisemitic and refer to yourself as a Christian. It is impossible, but too many who claim to have Jesus as Lord and Savior, yet have anywhere from a mild dislike to a palpable loathing for Jews and/or Israel do so. Paul says we owe a debt of gratitude to the Jews as a nation (Romans 15:27).

We began by discussing Revelation 12, which is a summary of God’s plan of redemption. What we see in Revelation 12 is a pictorial snapshot of God’s plan to redeem humanity; all who would come to Him trusting in His sacrifice in order to gain salvation. Revelation 12 provides us with a very concise view of history past and takes us into the future as well as this current age draws to a close. The first couple of verses point us back to the origins of the nation of Israel. Verses three and four tell us more about Satan and the fact that not only did he fall through pride and rebellion, but he managed to convince one-third of the “stars” of heaven (angels) to follow him in his rebellion.

We also learned that Satan did everything he could to “devour” (destroy, kill) the “child” that was birthed by the woman (Israel). Let’s pick it up with verses immediately following these, Revelation 12:5-6.

“And she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up to God and to His throne. Then the woman fled into the wilderness where she had a place prepared by God, so that there she would be nourished for one thousand two hundred and sixty days.”

So the “woman” (Israel) gave birth to a male child, destined to rule the nations with a rod of iron. The fact that the Scripture uses the word “is” (to rule) means that purpose has never been defeated and He will reign over all the nations on this earth for 1,000 years in order to prove to the entire universe that He – Jesus – has the right to rule His world, the title-deed to which he regained at the cross (Revelation 5).

Notice also that Satan failed to “devour” the child. The text says that the “child was caught up to God and to His throne.” This of course is referencing Jesus’ life, death, resurrection, and ascension all rolled into one. After Jesus completed all of His redemptive work, He victoriously shouted, “It is finished!” (John 19:30). He ultimately ascended and sits at the right hand of the Father until His enemies are made His footstool (Psalm 2).

Satan lost. He was unable to stop Jesus from being born and he was also completely unsuccessful in stopping Jesus or even causing Him to fall through sin. Satan lost every round. Once Jesus died, rose again, and ascended to heaven, Satan could no longer even have access to Jesus. So what did he do then? Did he give up; wave the white flag in surrender? Nope.

Revelation 12:6 refers to what is going to happen in the coming Tribulation after the Antichrist defiles the newly rebuilt Temple, at the halfway point. Once this occurs, the Jewish people will realize they’ve been taken for a ride and those who can and are aware that something is terribly wrong will flee to the wilderness for safety. The 1,260 days references the second half of the Tribulation (3 1/2 years on the Jewish calendar with one year equaling 360 days).

Do you get this sense from Scripture that Satan hates Jewish people and Israel with a passion like no other? He has good reason because if not for Israel and the Jewish people, there would be no salvation for any human being on this earth. But God so loved the world that He gave His only son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). Satan was not necessarily counting on losing that one, but he did. Yet, his anger has not nor will subside. As his time of judgment draws near, his anger will become even greater.

Today, there are two groups of people that Satan loves to torment. They are Jews and Christians, in that order. From Israel, the Savior/Messiah was born into this world. Jesus accomplished what he set out to do and has made salvation available to all who call upon His Name. This is reason enough to hate Jews and Israel. It is reason enough to raise up godless men and women who take special delight in tormenting, torturing, and killing Jewish people simply because they are Jewish.

“Witnesses have told of how the Nazis killed Ukrainian Jews…’for fun’, ‘out of anger, boredom, drunkenness’, or ‘to rape the girls’.”

I’ll offer this warning again that if you click on the linked article, know that there are graphic and disturbing images and text. This is the evidence of Satan’s unadulterated hatred for Jewish people and for Israel. Why? Because it is through them that salvation has been made available to all who seek to gain salvation. Satan knows he has no chance of being forgiven and taken back into the fold. Yet, every day, all around him, he witnesses people receiving salvation in Jesus. He blames Israel and specifically, the Jewish people.

The Bible tells us that even until the end of this age, the Jewish people and Israel will be a stumbling block for the world and for all the nations. Ezekiel is filled with such language warning the Jews that they are not safe, that the enemy of their souls will work through leaders of various nations in many efforts to destroy Israel and its people.

This blood thirsty rage can only come from one source. Satan, whose hatred for God and for the Jewish people from whom the Savior/Messiah came seems to know no bounds. Whenever you hear of someone who hates Jews or speaks rabidly of boycotting Israel, know that they are prompted by a hatred they do not understand but give in to. Though they are not guiltless, they certainly need our prayers. They need salvation. This is the best way to defeat Satan repeatedly. As each new person comes to know Jesus in a salvific way, Satan is once again defeated.

Hatred for Jewish people and Israel will increase as this age heats up toward the Tribulation. It will be Satan’s last chance to accomplish his own ends. The Bible says he will lose…again.
