Face It: Anti-Semitism is Fully Satanic, Pt 1
It is very likely that Satan indwelt Adolf Hitler. Certainly, it is very safe to say that Satan used Hitler in numerous ways, but chiefly to destroy the lives of Jewish people in Europe. While I fully realize that Jews were not the only people who were sought out for annihilation, the “final solution” conceived by Hitler had the Jewish people as its primary target.
If you need a refresher course on the Holocaust created by Hitler and his underlings, I would recommend you do some reading on the subject. I’ve made it easy for you by including a link to a very real history that Jewish people suffered at the hands of the Nazis and the Ukrainian people. Please be forewarned because the images and the descriptions of what occurred are very graphic and gruesome. The article – The secrets of Ukraine’s shameful ‘Holocaust of Bullets’ killing centre where 1.6million Jews were executed – is clear, unequivocal, and extensive in cataloging the atrocities perpetrated against Jewish people by others who call themselves “human beings.”
The real tragedy here is that Antisemitism is still alive and well today. However, instead of a growing resistance against it, we see a full-on growth of it throughout the world. While on one side we have many in Arab countries who either downplay or outright deny that the Jewish holocaust ever occurred, the other side ignores that and simply does its best to paint Jews and the nation of Israel as the source of continued problems, not only throughout the Middle East, but the world itself.
People like ex-president Jimmy Carter lambastes the Jews and Israel on a continual basis. Just look up Jimmy Carter and Israel on the ‘Net and you will find article after article highlighting Carter’s thoughts on Israel and the problems they have allegedly caused to keep peace from happening. What are we to make of this when seemingly intelligent people come against Israel? What are we to think when we read about hardened Nazis who seemed to go crazy as they lined up Jews and shot them, one after the other? What drives these people?
I think the biblical answer is very clear. Let’s take a look at just one place in Scripture, found in Revelation 12. This entire chapter provides us with a snapshot of Israeli history from conception until the end of this age. It also provides an extremely clear reason why Satan hates Jews and Israel more than anything or anyone else.
“A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars; 2 and she was with child; and she *cried out, being in labor and in pain to give birth,” (Revelation 12:1-2)
The “woman” here is Israel. That is clear in spite of the fact that John was prompted to use metaphors. The reference to the “sun,” the “moon,” and “a crown of twelve stars” takes us back to the book of Genesis 37. Let’s take a look.
“Now he had still another dream, and related it to his brothers, and said, “Lo, I have had still another dream; and behold, the sun and the moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me,” (Genesis 37:9)
The above text is taken from the time when Joseph, a relatively young boy (teenager) tells his parents and brothers about a dream he had where the “sun,” the “moon,” and the “eleven stars” would bow down to him. Joseph himself was the “twelfth” star so he of course, did not include himself.
But some might say, “Dr. Fred, you’re reading into the text and simply assuming that this is what Joseph meant.” No, I’m not. The second part of Genesis 37:10 states the following and it is Joseph’s father Jacob who is speaking here.
“”What is this dream that you have had? Shall I and your mother and your brothers actually come to bow ourselves down before you to the ground?”
Please note that Jacob understood the meaning and ramifications of the dream the moment Joseph told him about it, thus the question. Imagine the incredulity of being Jacob and hearing your youngest son say that one day, Joseph’s mother (sun), father (moon), and the other brothers would bow to Joseph. Jacob was taken aback to say the least.
Clearly then, the reference in Revelation 12:1-2 points all the way back to Genesis 37 and refers to Jacob, his wife, and the patriarchs. This is where the narrative of Revelation 12 begins, showing us that God is speaking of the nation of Israel before it became a nation. Notice also that this “woman” (Israel) is found to be with child and is labor as she starts to give birth.
Give birth to what? Let’s look at the following verses, Revelation 12:3-4.
“Then another sign appeared in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven diadems. 4 And his tail *swept away a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.”
While God was creating the nation of Israel, Satan was also on the move. He had been cast out of heaven because iniquity was found within him (cf. Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28). As he was cast out of heaven, he managed to convince 1/3 of the angelic host that they should follow him and they did. Imagine being in God’s presence and following a lesser being in rebellion to God.
This particular dragon (Satan) had seven heads and seven crowns. These represent the seven nations and ten rulers (Revelation 17:12). There we learn that ten kings will rule at some future point. Among them, another will rise to become supreme. He will “uproot” (kill) three and will become the main ruler of the entire earth. This leaves seven sub-rulers (cf. Daniel 7:7-8, 20, 24; Revelation 13:1). These will rule during the coming Great Tribulation. This is the literal interpretation of these verses.
Satan is cast out of heaven and takes with him 1/3 of the angels (“stars”) and together, they rebel against the Most High. But notice also that the dragon positioned himself before the woman in order to “devour” the child as she begins to give birth.
Who or what is this child? It is none other than the Savior of the entire world, for those who seek His salvation by trusting in Him. This child is Jesus Christ, who essentially comes from the nation of Israel and is Jewish Himself, in His humanity.
We’ll continue this next time to learn more about why people hate the Jews and Israel as much as they do. Without Scripture, it would be beyond explanation.
