Mark of the Beast – Physical or Spiritual?
In reality, as I’ve said before, Eschatology (the study of end times), is not a hill to die on, at least not for me. Yes, I have strong opinions about what the Bible says regarding the end times and I tend to take Scripture “literally,” meaning in its most plain and ordinary sense. Others believe they have good reason for seeing end times events as allegorical or symbolic. I’m reminded that God expects not unanimity, but unity. When we disagree over things that are not hills to die on, we need to agree to disagree and carry on in the cause of Christ. Can we do that?
No Fear of (Offending) God and False Prophets
The false prophets Jesus mentions are here now. I just came across another person yesterday, named Mike, who at first seemed to be genuine. I listened to his 15-minute video where he made several claims related to CV-19 vax. He said the vax was rolled out initially with about 20% of the people getting the real thing, while 80% received saline. He said over time, this 20% will be increased with successive booster shots until most or all of those who received the saline vax will receive the real thing. Since most who received a saline version experienced no negative symptoms, they will without hesitation go back for all boosters, getting the real thing, ultimately resulting in forms of prion disease (like Mad Cow) over the next 3-5 years. Sounds plausible and a brilliant way to do it, if that’s what they did.
Greatest Need
I think of Bill now. I cannot help wondering of course if there was more I could have said or done to help him realize his need for Jesus. I am confident that God – who loves Bill far more than I ever could – has given Bill every opportunity he needed. Beyond this, God is the only righteous Judge and will judge accordingly, not just Bill, but all of us.
Dearth of Discernment?
There appears to be a growing discernment dearth, for the lack of putting it another way. Christians, by and large, are failing to see the signs. I’m guessing it’s because they are failing to read His Word or have that Word expositionally preached. For too long, it seems that seeker-sensitive churches have “warmed hearts” while not educating believers or professing Christians. The result is a growing tide of church-goers who cannot distinguish between truth and lies.
Discerning the Times: Wicked Scoffers, CV and More
Whether God chooses to take vengeance on the wicked in this life or when they stand before Him is immaterial. But we can rest assured that it will be accomplished. There is a rising tide of evil acts in society committed by people who are clearly sold out to evil itself. These people have no consciences anymore because any conscience they did have was seared long ago. They have become brutes (2 Peter 2:12).
Discerning the Times: Just Say Nothing
In other words, Job was admitting that it was best if he said absolutely nothing except to clarify his own position before God Almighty. Does this not take your breath away? Do you not see yourself doing the same thing?
Discerning the Times: CV-19 and Fear God, Shun Evil
But what is interesting about Job is even though he feared the LORD at the outset, God allowed Satan to put that fear of the LORD to the test. What is fascinating about the whole thing is that Job came out of the entire situation with an even greater fear of the LORD! This should speak to us all as a reminder that we can never fear God enough in this life. There is always another level of fearing the LORD that we must seek to develop. In fact, our fear of the LORD will not be perfected in this life, but only when we receive our glorified bodies and our sin natures are removed.
Discerning the Times: Nehemiah, The Chosen and CV-19
I tell you this so that your main focus will be the cultivation of the fear of the LORD. As a result, whether you find you have immense empathy for people and a desire to help them or you react toward sin the way Nehemiah did, we should always realize that without fear of the LORD, these things are often done from our flesh.
Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name. (Psalm 86:11 NKJV)
Discerning the Times: Equipping Saints and UFOs
Only as Christians are taught doctrine, theology and all aspects of Scripture, will they be in a far better position to go into the world when they leave church and be ready to provide an answer to anyone who asks about the hope that we have in Christ. We should do this with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15). In that verse, Peter also tells us to “sanctify” our hearts, meaning we should actively and continually separate our hearts to God, ridding ourselves of the things in this world that compete for God’s attention. This must be taught and lived by each Christian in order that they might become better evangelists. Obviously Christians have a responsibility to study the Bible on their own as well.
Would You Know God, Pt 1?
The reason “pride goeth before destruction” (Proverbs 16:18), is due solely to the fact that pride replaces fear. The two cannot coexist. It is one or the other. Which lives in you? Which lives in me? We cannot have both. We either want to live in fear of the Lord or we will live in proud ignorance.
