Wolves? Who is Heidi Baker?

In Acts 2, when actual tongues of fire sat upon the heads of the disciples gathered in the upper room, did it hurt? Was there screaming as though their skin was burning off? There was only one sound that the Bible records: a mighty rushing wind (Acts 2:2). There was no screaming of the disciples when the Holy Spirit descended. None. The disciples then went outside and spoke in tongues (known languages by those who heard them though unknown at the time to the speakers).

Leading the Sheep Toward Romanism

For several years seen a growing embrace of aspects of Roman Catholicism from well-known and influential speakers and authors within Protestantism including Beth Moore, Rick Warren, Kenneth Copeland, Randy Clark, Bill Johnson, the late Tony Parker, and too many others to list here. It almost seems as though these folks believe their mandate is not so much the Great Commission of Jesus (Matthew 28), as it is to help unify all people under the umbrella of the Roman Catholic Church. They do so under the guise of simply desiring to include those within Catholicism regardless of theological differences, even though those differences are the very things that keep us apart and unable to worship together.

Kenneth Hagin’s Version of God’s Anointing

As with everything, Christians must learn to use discernment to determine whether the things being taught and the signs and wonders seen or experienced are actually of God. When we fail to do this, we leave ourselves wide open to all manner of deception. Society – globally – has adopted Cultural Marxism (emotional virtue), which has taught people to rely on how they feel about something. This has infected the Church to an alarming degree. Depending upon how our emotions react to something tells us whether or not the event or teaching is valid. But that’s not how Scripture tells us to determine things.

Are You Seeking Signs and Wonders?

When we seek experiences, aren’t we ultimately catering to self? From many of the videos watched over the past few days that this is exactly what appears to be happening. People want to feel good about themselves and others. Christians are starting to rely more and more on how they feel about things, just as those of the world do. If an experience makes them feel good, then it is good, regardless of whether or not it is biblical.

Growing Ecumenical Deception Taking Hold, Pt 3

If Antichrist walked onto the religious scene right now, he would very likely be fully accepted and even worshiped by many with the New Age, the Charismatic Movement, NAR, and elsewhere. Why? Because of a complete lack of discernment on the part of many. Just consider the way Steven Furtick (Elevation Church), introduced Bishop T. D. Jakes to the platform at his church, who referred to Jakes as the greatest preacher of this generation, yet Jakes holds several heretical viewpoints regarding God’s nature that do not square with Scripture at all. Or listen to Mike Bickle (IHOP) talk about Bill Johnson (Bethel, Redding CA), as though he were God’s gift to the Church. This ought not to be but it exists.

Growing Ecumenical Deception Taking Hold, Pt 2

We are now being told that we must simply get along and if that means setting even the fundamentals of the faith aside, then so be it. Doing so will apparently allow the world to see that Christians truly love one another and start to see Christianity as authentic, true, and something to embrace. But what will the world be actually taught? Doesn’t sound doctrine do the teaching as well as a graceful and humble demeanor? You can love someone all you want but if you never tell them about the sin in their life that keeps them from God and their need for Jesus, your love means nothing. This push for unity is most certainly moving toward something huge. What is it?

Growing Ecumenical Deception Taking Hold, Pt 1

It is very disconcerting what is happening today, even though clearly foretold in God’s Word. It is the result of the continuing push of the Charismatic Movement into various offshoots, each with leaders stating that God is doing “something new.” Normally, this “something new” is seen in new experiences. Conferences are held across America touting unity within Christendom, yet I have yet to see any serious, ongoing changes that last. That is, except the watering down of sound doctrine. That is the only real change. Solid doctrine is being pushed out the door for the sake of unity, which then translates to “brotherly love.”

Being Sincere But Sincerely Wrong

The hatred and jealousy from the religious leaders kept them from seeing the truth about Jesus. This very same thing happens to people the world over today…every day…as roughly 150,000 people die into eternity, most without Jesus (Matthew 7:13). This was the primary reason for their constant attacks on Him. Motivated by Satan through and cooperation of their pride, they did whatever they could to stop Jesus. This ultimately resulted in God allowing them to wrongfully arrest, convict, and execute Him, God using the evil devices of demons and people to work out His plan of salvation. Not even Satan understood that he was actually assisting God though he worked against Him!

Jesus Shows Us How NOT to Retaliate

Jesus actually rebuked His disciples for wanting to destroy the Samaritans. Jesus was living the example of His own preaching from the Sermon on the Mount. He also seemed to understand this rejection by the people of Samaria as the Father’s will for Him and used the situation as a sort of compass to determine what His next step was going to be. The text tells us He and His disciples simply went to another village.

Zechariah’s Near and Far Visions, Pt 3

If we live according to the desires of our sin nature (even after we have received salvation), we will continue to “die.” We will die spiritually because our fellowship with God in Christ will be broken. Out of fellowship, we will begin to act no different from those who are lost. However, if we do what we are obligated to do – put to death the deeds of the body by submitting ourselves and our desires to God – then we will continue to live and even grow spiritually.
