Narcissim is a funny thing. It often causes people to make decisions not based on intelligence, but based on their feelings about something. If Mr. Obama feels that Panetta got the one-up on him by announcing that the photos would be released, what better way to put Panetta in his place and remind the world (once again) that the dictator-in-chief is in charge and the world should never forget that.
