Liberal Media is at it Again!

How many times are the people of the United States going to fall for the bait-setting of the liberal media? This media got Obama elected to his presidency and refuses to deal with any hard questions related to him, whether it’s is country of origin, the health care package, his anti-gun stance, his Fabian Socialistic leanings (simply called “progressive”), or anything else.
Now, just under two years left before the American people will decide (or at least it will LOOK as though the American people decide), this same media is starting to tell us that things look really good for President Obama and a second term.
Just yesterday, I read on one of the liberal media propaganda pages that rather than looking like a defeated individual with little to no chance of success, apparently President Obama simply looks like a “tired Lance Armstrong.” I beg to differ.
Today, an NBC/WSJ poll is now reporting that Obama’s chances for a second term as president are really good! “If this is as bad as it gets for Obama, he’s in good shape for 2012… If not, watch out… What’s benefiting the president right now: a strong base and the fact the public finds him likeable… Palin’s poor poll position… A red flag for Obama on Afghanistan… Afghanistan review is out… House to vote on the tax deal… And Biden tells GOP senators opposing New START to let the Senate vote on the measure.” [1]
Apparently, in spite of his actual poor performance in the White House, he has two things going for him. First, most African-Americans and Latinos believe he has done a great job. Second, nearly 80% of the American people find him likable. Both of those statistics are tragic. It simply proves that a large percentage of people of color voted for him because he is a person of color. It also proves that most people go by outward appearances.
It is true that President Obama can be likable…at times. I find him personally boorish because he is so narcissistic. The man loves himself and anyone who knows anything about personality disorders knows that narcissists do what they do for one main reason: to preserve self. Obama is not quite a master at it, but he is very good. When he needs to pour on the charm, he does and people eat it up. The people of Rome also ate up Caligula’s charm as well and in spite of the fact that he was probably one of the worst (if not the worst) emperor of Rome, when he was assassinated, the average Roman citizen was very upset and called for the blood of the assassins.
Caligula was strange by any accounting, even though it is difficult to separate fact from fiction. Yet, as the first emperor given total and absolute control (Absolute Imperialism) by the Roman Senate, he played Rome for all it was worth, doing whatever he wanted to do and no one could stop him, except by killing him.
During his brief four years of rule over the Roman Empire, Caligula squandered the money in the treasury until there was nearly nothing left, but he also eliminated taxes, something that would make any average citizen jump for joy.
Caligula also began to spend large sums of money on projects…for himself, not the people of Rome. He was self-centered to the core. One time, he had engineers build a temporary dam across the opening of Rome’s main harbor, which kept ships with food and supplies from coming or going. The damn was created by positioning boats side-by-side all the way across from one side of the harbor to the other, reaching to the very expensive villas on the other side, owned by the elite of Rome. On top of the boats, a temporary road was created. On that road, Caligula road his favorite horse (the one he tried to have appointed to the Senate) back and forth, back and forth. He did this for three days, while ships waiting to deliver their cargo and take new cargo out. Caligula did not care.
President Obama has absolutely no specific plan about anything, except to convert this country or move it toward Fabian Socialism. Like Caligula eliminating taxes, Obama’s health care package appears to do something for Americans at large. The problem of course, is that like Caligula’s “tax break,” without taxes, projects could not be started or completed, except Caligula found a way to bring his own pet projects to fruition.
While the healthcare package generated by Obama appears to have real benefits, a closer look shows tremendous job loss and a need for nearly a trillion new tax dollars to make it work. The average individual apparently does not consider this. Why? Because they think they are getting something for nothing.
The media is beginning a blitz that will not let up until AFTER the election of 2012. Rather than dig to find out the truth, they are simply telling Americans that Obama has held up under all the pressure like no other president. In spite of the odds, he is doing a remarkable job. While the world seems to be against him, President Obama marches on, like a war hero, though now the media is simply comparing him with a great athlete. Wait for it because in due time, he will be compared with Kennedy and other great presidents of our time and even war heroes who did what the odds indicated they shouldn’t have been able to do.
Now, let me clarify here. God is certainly not out of the picture and I firmly believe that IF President Obama is re-elected, it is because God wants it to be so. There is no doubt within me about that. Yet, at the same time, I believe President Obama’s presidency is little more than the beginnings of judgment against this nation. While his presence in the White House has galvanized people across this great nation (TEA Party, ACT for America! and others), it may not be enough for God’s liking. It may be that this nation simply does not get it and never will, until Jesus steps foot down on the Mt. of Olives. Then the realization will hit. Of course, it will be way too late by that point.
In the meantime, God uses whatever and whomever He chooses in order to accomplish His goals and purposes. I am not happy with the fact that we have an individual like Obama in the White House. Even if it is God’s will that he is there, holding the highest position in the land, God still does not have to be happy about it either. He does things that are painful at times and certainly bring a great deal of havoc to the lives of people on this earth and He does those things because of righteousness, justice, and because of all that God is within His nature and character.
Yesterday evening, I went on my weekly visit to the local county jail. As a volunteer chaplain, I routinely visit the men in a particular “tank” (group of cells) where I talk with the inmates about God and read the Word as well as pray with them. Last night, we read through Exodus 12, which speaks of the preparation for the coming night of Passover. Though I’ve read it before of course, reading again with these men opened my eyes to new insights.
The Lord credits Himself with the deaths of all those first-born individuals from every family. This is in spite of the fact that it was actually someone named the Destroyer who did the killing. Any house without blood was fair game and someone from that household would die. The text in Exodus even points out that those who were in the dungeons, or the palace – everyone would suffer loss of their first-born unless they had blood on the lintel and door posts. For each of these homes, the Lord would not allow the Destroyer entrance. The point is clear – that as vicious and terrible as that judgment was to all who did not have blood covering their household and in spite of the fact that the Lord was not the One who did the actual killing, He credited Himself with it numerous times throughout chapter twelve.
What is President Obama’s presence in the White House saying to us? How is it galvanizing us? How is it making us want to serve God more? Probably the most important question we can ask ourselves is what is God saying to us through President Obama’s presidency? I believe the message is very clear. The message is shape up, humble yourselves, repent, and turn your face to Me (God).
For those who are willing to listen to that message, salvation can be theirs. Once again, as I have said before, this is where authentic Christians come in. We must be the ones who tell people. We must be the ones who live the life of an authentic Christian. If not, how will people see? How will they know?
It is difficult to live the life at times, but it is not an option. Simple things like driving in traffic can cause us (or at least tempt us) to forget we are Christians and react in a way that is decidedly unChristian. If that describes you, then put some bumper stickers on your car that tell everyone you are a Christian! Once you get into the habit of realizing the message that your car is stating to everyone who sees it, you will begin to think two, three, and even four times, before you do or say something to some other driver that brings your Christianity into question.
Here is what the Christian is up against. In many ways, the authentic Christian is like the prophet of old. While I am NOT saying that we ARE prophets as Isaiah was a prophet, I AM saying that our purpose and position is to tell the world what they are doing wrong, while remaining free of the world’s stain. If you read the prophets – both major and minor – and you are at least familiar with the Old Testament saints, you know what they were up against. Most of the time, they were reviled, laughed at, persecuted even to the death because people did not like or want to hear their message.
This is exactly what is happening today. The world does not like to hear us point out the problems with Obama’s presidency. They do not want to hear our “hate” messages about Islam. They want nothing to do with anything that smacks of God and His commands. They want to be left alone to do their own thing, just like Israel did so many times in the Old Testament, in spite of how many prophets God raised up to show them their error. They wanted nothing to do with it. They even had false prophets to tell them that what God’s prophets were saying was hogwash!
Today, consider yourself a prophet of sorts and consider the liberal media the false prophets. This is what we are up against. However, we need to realize that we are not the ones who are up against anything. We need to see ourselves as simply doing the work of our Master, come what may. He is the One who is in charge, not us, and certainly not the liberal media, the modern-day false prophet.
God uses us as He sees fit and authentic Christians gladly bow to His will, with no reservations. At the same time, just as God used the false prophets of Old Testament times to bring His remnant of people who much closer to Himself, so is He using the false prophets of the liberal media to do the same.
Nothing happens in this world with God’s permission or direction. It is impossible to think otherwise and still believe in a God who is fully sovereign. There are people yet who will come to Him, willingly and with complete adoration. It may well only be that as the chasm between the “light” and the “dark” of this world grows larger, the blinders of those who have lived in darkness will finally begin to see the light of Christ.
We can expect the false prophets of the media to continue their false claims in order to create a ground swell of support for a president who in many ways, is already completely fallen and done. The media’s spin is hoped to create another situation (as they did the first time), in which a completely unqualified Fabian Socialist will gain access to the highest job in the land. They are able to do so because God allows us and may even be directing it. Through it, others may realize their need for Him and turn to Him. Still others may become more firmly ensconced in their utter rejection of Him.
The only thing that matters when all is said and done is that God’s purposes are accomplished. In Exodus 12, God was glorified, in spite of the fact that many died because they were not under the protection of the Passover blood. Though it seems cruel and unrelenting to us, God’s purposes are not man’s. He WILL be glorified and He will use the dark as well as the light to do it. Which side are you on?

What a powerful message. I hope people hear your “voice” as you call them to wake up and STOP believing everything they hear on regarding the ‘wonders’ of our President! It seems like it doesn’t take much of a spin to get people are excited about perceived positive accomplishments of Obama!

Thanks for your comments. It boggles my mind how many people seem to be totally unaware of what this president is doing. They are allowing his charm to blind them to the reality.
