Scoffers Scoffing?

March 8, 2024 at 11:30 AM 5 comments

The Bible tells us that in the end times (the times we are living in now), scoffers will come. Peter explains.

…you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles, 3 knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. 4 They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” 5 For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, 6 and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. 7 But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. (2 Peter 3:2-7 ESV)

Peter notes a number of things in the above text that are important for us to understand. Verses 5-7 highlight what many ancients believed regarding God’s judgment. They understood that there are two judgments coming to this earth: the great flood and the fires of purification. The Great Flood of Noah’s day took place roughly 1600 years after Creation. So in that relatively short amount of time, God saw fit to destroy everything except that which was saved inside the Ark, due to the transhumanism and evil that prevailed on the earth then. From only eight people of Noah’s family, the world became repopulated again.

Peter also notes that at the end of this age, there will be another catastrophic purging of all things evil. Peter tells us that at that time, the heavens and the earth will literally be destroyed with fire. God will then make new ones.

Prior to this final fire judgment, God will pour out His wrath onto this world because it deserves judgment, just as in the days of Noah and the days of Lot (Matthew 24). Nothing will preempt the judgment that’s coming. Of course, if the world leaders and the people supporting them all decided to repent of their sin and desire to know God, He would likely set aside or at least postpone His judgment (as He did in the book of Jonah with Nineveh). However, according to Scripture that won’t happen because people will continue to reject God and refuse His salvation, becoming exceedingly evil in so doing. By the way, as an aside here, I’d highly recommend the Bible Expedition video on Nineveh.[1] It’s absolutely fascinating to see how the ancient records of Assyria’s Sennacherib connect with the biblical record.

People today are happy to ignore God, claiming He doesn’t exist and by their own errant beliefs, think they know better than God. They have exchanged any sense of biblical morality and truth for their feelings-based version. It is the most absurd thing in the world to listen to people who believe they are intelligent, tell us that a woman is someone who identifies as such and chromosomes have little to do with it. Science has told us that male and female sexuality is based on chromosomes. Yet all of a sudden, it’s now not based on chromosomes (which apparently, is only part of the picture). How a person views themself is the determining factor in spite of what their chromosomes indicate. We have the insane telling us that in order to make them feel comfortable we have to go along with their thinking regarding gender and if we do not, then we are obviously transphobic and penalized for it.

This whole line of thinking clearly follows the downward spiritual spiral of humanity listed by Paul in Romans 1. It is an a rush toward nihilism promotes Selfism at all costs. Next on the agenda is normalizing pedophilia, which too many are already saying is not an unnatural or specifically chosen lifestyle. It is allegedly natural and should not be dissuaded. Okay, whatever. These people will reap what they sow and is simply more proof that this entire world is on its way to judgment. Rather than stop and seriously consider what they are advocating, they dig their heels in as if almost deliberately poking God to force a response. But I digress.

But another area in which people are seriously digging in their heels is in the area of end times prophecy. The question, sarcastically offered by an increasing amount of people today is the words or attitude that essentially says what Peter in the above quote notes. The “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation” is a statement or question that many are asking or discussing today. You can hear the sarcasm and arrogance in their voices when they make their statements/questions. It’s not so much that they are truly interested in the answer either. They believe they have the answer already.

Regarding this topic, Greg Reese recently published an article on the subject of the Rapture.[2] From what I can tell, he is not a Christian, so he approaches this topic from a secular, non-Christian perspective. I’ve read a number of Reese’s substack articles and even followed him at one point. But he began targeting what he believed is Israel’s “apartheid” and aggression towards Arabs in Gaza and elsewhere. It was clear he was excusing Hamas’ murderous massacre of innocent people on October 7, in favor of blasting Israel (and Jews) for their seemingly “unprovoked” response to Hamas (my paraphrase).

As expected, Reese does the same type of thing with the Rapture. I’m not going to get into whether or not the Rapture is taught in Scripture to be PreTrib, MidTrib or PostTrib[3] Reese’s point is actually not focused on timing, but on whether it happens or not and if something that appears to be the Rapture does happen, is it really God perpetrating that event?Nephilim Nightmare Cover

Reese starts off talking about the military and their interest in what is known as remote viewing. This is where people are trained to “see” things that are occurring at a distance from them, with their mind’s eye.

Remote Viewing is the military term for viewing a target with the mind’s eye. Remote Viewings are conducted under double blind conditions. Meaning that the target assigner and the viewers are unaware of what they are viewing.

Reese goes onto say that in each experiment related to remote viewing, the people involved are not necessarily aware of what they are supposed to be viewing. The 2010 movie, The Men Who Stare at Goats is a dark comedy that includes this phenomenon known as remote viewing.

What is interesting is how Reese describes aspects of biblical truth, aka Rapture and the Tribulation. He speaks as an outsider, looking in and commenting on the biblical phenomena. However, what is most interesting are his conclusions. Wouldn’t you know it, he ultimately concludes that space aliens exist and apparently, they destroyed their own planet so they’re looking for a new one and ties any upcoming Rapture with them.

Also apparently, those involved in remote viewing experiments, “…saw what appeared to be another planet. One with an inhospitable atmosphere that required domed cities. They saw underground bases. And they saw the infamous grey aliens.” Kewl, isn’t it? Demons strike again, making it believable that space aliens exist to pull people away from God.

According to UFO research, the most common story is that the Greys destroyed their own planet and came to Earth to experiment on mankind in a desperate attempt for survival. No longer able to reproduce sexually, they experiment on mankind with genetic science and technology to sustain their own species.

And here we thought space aliens were higher beings, far more intelligent than humans. Apparently not. They destroyed their own planet, then came to earth to experiment on humans all in order for their own survival. Yet, they can’t apparently reproduce sexually so they had to rely on genetic experimentation to continue to exist. How are these beings so supposedly astronomically intelligent?! They’re not. They sound like they’re clueless about their own survival. It’s simply demons playing the long con on humanity.

Why did they allegedly come here to genetically experiment on people? Reese continues.

And according to the RA material, there are two factions of non-humans on Earth. One is on the path of service to others, here to help humanity spiritually liberate itself. And the other is on the path of service to self, here to enslave humanity for their own selfish needs.

Ah, so apparently, two factions; one self-centered and the other service oriented. Gosh, who knew? How is it allegedly higher beings that have the supposed technological ability to fly through the universe at speeds of light and the ability to experiment on humans genetically are still self-centered? Come on, can we move on from this? These space aliens are nothing more than demons playing huge games. Their ultimate goal is to kill all people but they are not allowed to do that because God! So, what do they do instead? They create this huge multi-faceted story about how they’re higher beings, but destroyed their planet so here they are on ours. Scoffers of the Bible believe this tripe, but no one who has God and critical thinking skills does.

Reese is essentially a biblical scoffer. Though he believes himself to be a critically intelligent thinker. Nonetheless, he’s a scoffer when it comes to the Bible, God and the doctrines revealed within that Bible by God Himself. In his same article, Reese speaks of a person who allegedly saw the human spirit, how it was attached to the body and “…how it is removed, and how these creatures were attempting to manipulate the process with a neurolink.

Ah, neurolink. Where have we heard that before? Elon Musk. Reese also makes that connection and here’s what he says about it.

Allgire saw several images of how the soul is attached to the human body, how it is removed, and how these creatures were attempting to manipulate the process with a neurolink. And practically the whole team saw barbaric experiments on mankind with brain chips, animal mutilations, animal-human hybrids, and trans-humanist hardware. As if creating some sort of human Frankenstein was the only way for their species to survive. They could be viewing the biblical Mark of the Beast. And also, the Orion group from the RA material, otherwise known as the Greys, who seek to use humanity for their own selfish needs.

This is major scoffing. Reese is attempting to provide a pedestrian explanation for biblical doctrine. He also states that people involved in remote viewing experiments stated “…They saw UFOs, major events in the sky, and a mass exodus.” The “mass exodus,” what is that? Could it be the coming Rapture? Anyone who has spent any time reading alleged first person accounts of their involvement with space aliens understands that these supernatural other worldly beings have been laying the groundwork for the biblical doctrine of the Rapture for decades. If demons cannot stop people from believing in the Rapture, they will try and dissuade them by helping them to see that the coming Rapture is the same as the New Age “Great Evacuation” that leaders within the New Age have been talking about for years.[4]

In the end, there’s nothing new under the sun. Satan has always been trying to cover his rear and making his best guess regarding God’s prophetic timetable. Problem is that Satan is not all-knowing. He can only guess, although his guesses are likely superior to ours. Satan knows what’s coming but he spends his time convincing people that things like the Rapture are not really biblical events, but events perpetrated by space aliens. If people buy this view, he has successfully weaned them away from the truth of God and His Word.

Scoffers are here and they are scoffing. They try to sound intelligent but in the end, we see them for what they are – resolute in their rejection of God and His Word.

[3] Since the majority of first, second and early third century church fathers were clearly Premillennial and PreTrib, having been taught by the original 12 apostles or a disciple of the apostles), that, along with Scripture is good enough for me. However, I will take this subject up again in the future, though that’s not really part of this particular article now.

I have heard so many Christians say, “I will be raptured, I do not have to go through the tribulation.” I personally choose to “contend for the faith” until Christ takes me. Just wondering if when many realize that we as Christians will have to endure some things, that will turn many to apostasy?

You’ve heard the expression, “when the going gets tough, the tough get going.” I personally believe there is too much evidence in support of a PreTrib Rapture, both from Scripture and from early church fathers of the first, second, and early third centuries, to ignore.

However, as I’ve said repeatedly, we do NOT know when it will happen even if BEFORE the Tribulation. I personally believe things will get fairly difficult and even possibly be horrible for many Christians before the Rapture occurs. I base that on both Noah and Lot who lived in very difficult days before they were “raptured” (the Ark for Noah), and Lot escaping Sodom/Gomorrah before God’s judgment fell.

I honestly believe that it is because of that, that Christians should “prepare their minds for action” and understand that things WILL get difficult. It will become a crescendo of terrible times as we approach the Tribulation.

I agree with you that unprepared Christians who see the PreTrib Rapture as only an “escape” will likely not have the spiritual fortitude to carry on effectively. Will they apostatize? It’s possible, though if they are authentic Christians, that specific apostasy will not result in a loss of salvation, but a loss of reward at the Bema Seat of Judgment.

We need to be prepared for what is coming and train our minds to rely on Him every day, throughout each day.

      Thanks Susan.

Hello. Do you think the scoffers are Christians who become apostate? Does not seem logical to think of scoffers as non-christians, as non-christians have been scoffers from the beginning.

Yes, it could be, though I don’t think it’s just the apostates, but certainly their voice will be added to millions of other voices from non-Christians. I think there is a point in your comment though, that Paul could mainly be referring to those who were once part of Christendom (the visible church), but then left it because they never truly were saved. In essence though, those people, while thinking (or pretending?) to be authentic Christians, were/are just like those who have deliberately chosen to ignore and reject God and His salvation. They’re all part of the same group because I don’t believe the Bible teaches that a true Christian can lose salvation. So, those folks who thought/pretended Christianity, were in effect unsaved anyway.

The apostle John makes his point: “They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us.” (1 John 2:19)

I agree with you though that we are certainly seeing more and more people leaving Christendom and I think their “scoffing” stands out even more to the world.

      Just my opinion. Thanks Susan.

Btw I think that your point is valid. If you stop to consider it the world can’t apostatize from something they never gave lip service to so yes, while the world scoffs all the time of the things of God everyone who turns from the faith will apostatize and join the ranks of the unbelievers in the world.

Trying to clarify my point but maybe I’m making it muddier 😜
