Even the High and Mighty Die
Yet in spite of all this, what did they really have? Did they have salvation? Where are they now? We know that in life as in death (or at least at the grave site), Douglas Fairbanks went to the extreme. In the photo of his grave at Hollywood Forever Memorial Park (where he is also buried with his son Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.), we can see that a great deal of money was spent to ensure that the Fairbanks grave site would stand out and be set apart. It was designed to let everyone know that someone of vast importance rested there. Who buys that much land to be laid to rest in, complete with a reflecting pond in front and trees lining the sides? Who does that? Certainly not someone who sees the utter temporal nature of this life itself.
Bible Warns of Apostasy and Persecution: Birth Pang 4A
The point is that at some time in the future, God will take a leader that turns out to be the leader of a northern group of nations (but will also include nations south of Israel (like Ethiopia) and around Israel and God will use this leader for His purposes. Notice that even though God is going to “put hooks into (Gog’s) jaws” and will “bring you out with all your army…” etc., to Gog, it will feel as though it’s his idea.
Entering the Narrow Way Leading to Life
How do you tell those people about Jesus? How do you tell them that God loves and cares for them? As a Christian of course, I realize that we are responsible for our own pain in many cases. We are born into this world as sinners and that puts us on the outs with God at the very beginning. However, for people like Clara Bow, who come into this world with a tremendous background of evil that happens to them, they seem to go from the frying pan directly into the fire. Because of the terribly large holes in their lives, they try in vain to fill those holes with fame, fortune, or the love of others. They always seem to be missing the boat, or taking the wrong path in life. Do you know people like that personally? Does not your heart go out to them? I hope so.
Bible Warns of Apostasy and Persecution, Part 4
It is important to grasp the fact that they actually asked Jesus three individual questions here. They wanted to know when the Temple would be destroyed (“not one stone will be left on another”), they wanted to know what signs might be associated with the Second Coming, and finally, they wanted to know what sign(s) might be connected with the end of the age. It is also very important to understand that according to rabbinic sources, there are only two ages: this age in which we currently live and the coming age when Messiah will reign. When this current age ends, it will do so because the Messiah will return and start the new age.
Portraits of Fellowship, Part 4: Moses
Moses focused on God for His solution. Isn’t this what God tells us in Psalm 55:22? God echoes the same sentiment in 1 Peter 5:7, when he tells us to “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” Moses knew that casting his cares and concerns on the Lord would yield good results. Relying on himself would yield nothing good at all and and to react in a way that evidenced a failure to trust God would be sin.
Portraits in Fellowship, Part 2
We live in a world with a system that has been fully corrupted and crafted by Satan. He has designed this system such that its main goal is to pull people away from God by snaring them with all sorts of baubles and riches, which will ultimately perish. Satan has created this world system, which will one day become a globally united system of governance headed up by his spiritual son (Antichrist), in order to achieve greatness and fulfill his own promises found in Isaiah 14. He seeks to be like the Most High (Isaiah 14:14) and God is allowing him to try to achieve that end. That is his goal and he has designed a world system to take him there. He needs absolute control of this planet and God will allow for a short period of time in the future. That is called Daniel’s 70th week of Daniel 9 (see also Revelation 6 – 18).

Transformed to Have Fellowship
Christians who have salvation do not necessarily have fellowship. They have the potential for it and the right to it, but there is no guarantee that each and every Christian will enjoy fellowship with God. When we become saved, our legal status is changed by God from unrighteous to righteous (2 Corinthians 5:21). This status can never change back to that of being unrighteous again as a legal standing before God. Certainly, if Christians are not careful, they can (and too often do) live carnal, immature lives before God because they fail to realize that they are supposed to actually pursue fellowship with God. It is not automatic.

Laodicean Church Falls Hard After 30 Years…
It does not take long for any religious establishment to slide off its original, biblical foundation (if it started there), if people are not careful. The same of course, is true of individual Christians. It doesn’t take much to slide away and end up at a point where fellowship with God, even though that person is saved, has come to nothing. You wake up one day and realize (if God has mercy on you) that Jesus – the Author of your salvation – is standing on the outside of your heart, knocking to enter so that you and He can once again enjoy the fellowship that you once did.
