Today’s Israel has but a small part of all the Land that God set aside for them. Even now, Arab nations (along with the UN and politicians in America and elsewhere) want Israel to give up even more of her Land to make way for a Palestinian State. God will have none of that. It is His Land and He gave it to Israel. He will fulfill His promises to Israel by making sure they enjoy all of their Land at some point in the future.

The Torah was written originally in Hebrew (with some small sections being originally written in Aramaic. For Jewish individuals and especially males, Hebrew was the language of choice. In fact, the numerous times Jesus read Scripture while at synagogue or in the Temple, He would have done so in Hebrew. We’ll provide specifics in a moment, but it is important to note that with the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, it becomes at once clear that many manuscripts that Jesus would have studied, learned, and even memorized were written in Hebrew. “The scrolls demonstrate that Hebrew was being used in the time of Jesus, and had not been completely eclipsed by Aramaic.”[3]
Daniel’s 70 Weeks is NOT 70 Years!
It is the same thing here in Daniel 9. Gabriel is really giving a bit of a play on words. In essence, as Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum points out (“Footsteps of the Messiah”), Gabriel is essentially saying, “Daniel, it’s not 70 years, but 70 SEVENS of years.”
Should Jewishness of Jesus Be Ignored by Gentile Christians Today?
If someone starts telling you that in order to be a better Christian, you must begin adding Mosaic Laws, Feasts, and Festivals to your life or you must learn Hebrew or immerse yourself in Jewish culture, they are 100% wrong! However, if you decide to learn Hebrew, more about the Menorah, the Tabernacle, the Jewish Feasts, or something else related to Judaism because you are interested and you want to know these things because Jesus Himself was immersed in them, there is nothing wrong with that!

Because Jesus does not have to deal with anything sinful in His own life, He is free to serve us, those who follow Him. We are told in Hebrews 4:16, that we are to “…draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
As authors Klein and Spears point out, Christians today don’t have an accurate understanding of that passage. We somehow think that because the veil has been torn from the top to the bottom, we can simply run into the Holy of Holies without a care in the world. Isn’t that what the word “boldly” means? No.

Here in the U.S., the culture is western. We don’t speak Koine Greek or Hebrew. We do not understand the Jewish mindset or culture. Because of that, we can easily miss the meaning of Scripture because we simply aren’t familiar with Jewish idioms, or Hebrew poetic language. Not knowing these things can be a roadblock in truly understanding God’s Word.

But could all of this just be coincidence? “Oxfam backs the Palestinian Authority (PA) position, which views all of Judea and Samaria as rightfully Arab land.” How could that be coincidence? If Oxfam supports the PA position against Israel and Coca-Cola has supported Oxfam with millions of dollars and is headed by a Muslim, what does that tell you?

Muslims in Israel have freedom and they know it. The Muslims there – like Muslims in other countries surrounding Israel – are largely Arab. An Arab is an Arab. There is no such thing as Palestinian Arab. That individual simply does not exist. It is a created term, one used as propaganda.

Jesus approached ministry by often meeting the physical needs of people. But He always shared the gospel with them. He fed thousands. He healed the sick. He cared for people tangibly, but He always taught and preached. That is what Christians are called to do.
