Problems with Today’s So-Called Prophets
Notice though that in the next section, the officials and people came to the priests and spoke on behalf of Jeremiah stating that he did not deserve to die because they said he spoke to them in the Name of the Lord. So, at least some of these people did not believe that Jeremiah was a false prophet or a blasphemer. Ultimately, the Lord was in control.
Gun Control Bait and Switch?
Either President Trump is playing Congress and has no intention of signing anything that further infringes on the 2A or he is honestly considering it. The fact that he has ordered the ATF to outlaw bump stocks and is considering banning suppressors is enough to make me very concerned. It is not far-fetched to think that President Trump is truly in favor of Red Flag laws, which will be abused by the Left to simply confiscate guns from law-abiding people.

Gun Control, Red Flag Laws and POTUS
If President Trump continues down this path, he will lose a good portion of his base. It’s already happening as I see more conservatives and patriots saying that Trump “lost” their vote for re-election. The problem though is if not Trump, then who? Who will step up to be a better candidate than the current president? If Mr. Trump is not careful, he will continue to alienate more of his base who will either not vote in 2020 or vote for someone else who has no chance of winning, out of principle.
The Stones Would Cry Out
The idea that the more Christians work (or pray, etc.), the sooner more will come to know Him and the world will change for the better flies in the face of biblical revelation. The Bible says these are bad times and they will get far worse until He raptures His Bride from this earth. Once that happens, judgment will fall onto the earth. Only upon His physical return will this world begin to experience the peace of the Millennial Kingdom over which Jesus Himself will rule with a rod of iron.
Movies Have Consequences
People have become so desensitized to gore, violence and gun play that it’s ready for the next level. My only concern is what is that level?! It’s scary to consider. Hollywood should be dialing it back, but instead pushes onward with more gore, more violence and more gun play that will further desensitize and exploit the next generation of movie/TV watchers than this current generation. They’ve learned that if they dial it back, their movies will “flop” so they keep pushing the edge.
How To Not Fear…
If we are facing a situation that is unpalatable, we need to remind ourselves that we should not fear because God is literally with us, on our side and He is so for the sake of His Name. It is clear that He will accomplish His purposes in and through us. God speaks to us as a loving father speaks to children. God wants us to succeed in His will. In every situation we find ourselves, there is the path to God’s will. How do we get there? By seeking and trusting. How do we trust? By filling our hearts with the truth of God’s Word.
“Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you by my righteous right hand.”
Guarding Our Tongues, Part 4
Paul specifically referred to our mind and our heart and not our tongue because again, what comes off the tongue is something that is already embedded in our heart or mind. By the time we actually say something aloud, it’s too late (if it’s negative or the wrong thing to say). The verbalization of something is the result of what has already been spinning around in our minds and heart.
Guarding Our Tongues, Part 3
James states clearly that we are all in the same boat. We all stumble at this or that point. We all fall down. He follows up with the fact that those people who control their tongues (by controlling what they think) are “perfect.” Of course, the word perfect here means complete. They have learned the value of keeping watch over thoughts and words. This is clearly the most difficult part of being a Christian. It really is and if you disagree with that, then I must ask you to read James in its entirety and read it several times, focusing on what James is saying about the tongue.
Guarding Our Tongues, Part 2
Guarding our minds and ultimately our tongues or what comes out of our mouths from our minds and hearts, keeps us in fellowship with God in Christ. If we say things that are sinful, we immediately break our fellowship with God. It is that simple and it will remain broken until we muster enough humility to confess our sin and He will forgive. If we do not humble ourselves, God will endeavor to humble us. If we continue to resist His efforts, He has the option of removing us from this life (1 Corinthians 11:30).
Guarding Our Tongues
James outlines what our demeanor in the world and in our homes should be. We should be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. Why? James answers the question for us. He says the anger of human beings does not produce the righteousness of God, because our anger is normally born of our own sin. Are you? Am I?
