Choosing Wisely
Please don’t get me wrong. I’m not telling people what to do here. I’m simply suggesting that Christians take the time to deliberately pray for wisdom in the many situations that we face daily. To me, it seems as though it is becoming exceedingly important to seek and use wisdom and discernment from God in all the situations we face.

Daniel 4 Part 2
Pride is the worst of sins because it controls our thoughts, words and deeds. It gives rise to many other sins. God hates pride (Prov 8:13; 16:5; James 4:6; 1 Peter 5:5, etc), and if He is willing to do this to King Nebuchadnezzar, how much more does God want all pride rooted out of His children?

Way of Escape
For Jesus, it was the joy that He knew He would experience by successfully navigating the upcoming illegal trials, the beatings, the mockings, the brutal death on the cross itself and the separation from His own Father. It was that joy that He beheld that gave Him what He needed to look beyond the actual downsides associated with His upcoming death on the cross. He succeeded because He fixed His gaze on the solution that the Father provided rather than the temptation.

Emotional Virtue Equals Exalting Self
We have arrived to a time in society when everyone does as he/she thinks is good. Absolute morality is gone, replaced with a type of virtuous morality that allows everyone to do as they will; to do whatever they think is good in their own eyes.
Would It Really Matter?
But let’s say for a moment that if Israel was not in the Middle East, then all the world’s problems between Islam and Israel would be over. Would it? Not according to Islam beliefs, that they will take control of this world and dominate. Notice in that image, they not only say “Death to Israel” but issue a “Curse on the Jews.” They hate Jews. They hate Israel and it boggles my mind that some Christians cannot understand why this is the case. This stems completely from Satan’s hatred of Jews and Israel itself. That nation has literally derailed his plans to keep people from coming to God for salvation. Because a Messiah/Savior was born through the nation of Israel, a way was opened to humanity to gain fellowship with God through salvation.
Daniel 4 Part 1
God tried to teach His complete sovereignty to Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 2-3), but the king had not learned his lesson. Verse 17 states God’s supremacy over all Creation – the theme of the entire book of Daniel. The king asks Daniel to interpret the meaning of the dream. The soothsayers were unable to offer any type of explanation or interpretation. Nothing at all.

Actual Victory in Christ
Humility is not inherent within us. We are not born with humility, but must actively seek humility. Humility is outside Self. It is not part of Self at all. It must be sought by us and in all situations. We must also understand that Self is resident within to keep us from seeking and gaining more humility. It’s one or the other; that simple.
Two Gates: Humility or Self-Exaltation?
Walking the difficult path of the Narrow/Humility Road requires constant communion with God. It requires us to be involved in His Word; reading it, memorizing it and repeating it to ourselves. Walking down the path of humility means we think of ourselves last or better yet, not at all as we submit to Him and His will at every turn. Anyone who says this is not difficult is either lying to themselves or deceived because it is sometimes tremendously difficult to live out, practically speaking. Self yearns to be exalted and hates to admit failure. Refer to Luke 22:39-44 to remind yourself of Jesus’ own struggle, yet without sin.
A Burdensome Stone
I’m not going to try to pretend I know what all of this means that’s occurring now in the Middle East. My heart goes out to all the innocent people on both sides. However, at the same time, many of those innocent people in and around Gaza celebrated when Hamas went into Israel and began massacring innocent people. Throughout the world right now, there are massive protests favoring Hamas’ position against Israel, calling for the mass extermination of all Jews. Anti-Semitism is at an all-time high, not necessarily seen since Hitler and WW2. This is all part of the “burdensome stone” that Israel has become. It will likely get worse even if this current situation seems to die down. I don’t think it will and many are already warning that WW3 is approaching and could easily involve nuclear arms.
I Did It Again!
This innate rebelliousness that all Christians have to some extent or another, was something that Paul could not get rid of within himself either. It is resident, with layers upon layers of sinfulness seeking its own way. This is the constant tension caused by our own inner sin nature and the impact God has on us through the new life within us led by the Holy Spirit.
