A Word from the Lord?
This is the big problem with people who believe themselves to have God’s ear wanting them to be counselors to others. The unfortunate part is that the people they counsel often take their counsel as complete truth and endeavor to follow their instructions to a “t” instead of going to Scripture and checking things for themselves.
Stories, Stories, and More Stories…
Folks, as time progresses and we move closer to the time of Jesus’ return, we must remember that He warned us about the false Christs, the false teachers who would lead many astray (Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21). Things would be gearing up to see more and more heretics gaining prominence within Christendom. Because of the way people chase after their “felt needs” today, they are tossed about by every wind of doctrine trying to satiate their itching ears.
We Can Learn Lessons from the Kings of Israel
Asa’s life as king is a good lesson for all of us. Is it your supreme desire to follow God, to seek Him and His ways, to live for His glory? Is that your aim? If that is not your aim, you will do what dictates your heart and not bring glory to God. It’s that simple, though when it comes to where the rubber meets the road, it is difficult because our minds tend to wander away and fix themselves on our own felt needs.
Modern Day Prophets vs Old Time Prophets
Let’s look at a real prophet for a moment. The text of 1 Chronicles 17:1-2 explains. King David was saddened by the fact that he lived in a beautiful palace of cedar, while the Ark of the Covenant from God stood under a tent. David bemoaned this fact as it did not appear to be fair to him.
What May Be on the Political Horizon, Part 2?
I’ve listened to people who call themselves Christian and Republican who only spout Democrat/Leftist talking points. Why? Because they listen to CNN or some other mainstream media program where the anchors are simply propagandists, vomiting the Left’s talking points night after night, day after day. Yet, these Christian/Republicans believe they are well informed. They’re not because they have failed to do the research on their own and simply believe what they like to hear.
What May Be on the Political Horizon, Part 1?
But it is also very important to understand that in spite of what might be coming, it is clear that the entire Leftist machine will not be held in check. There are way too many things happening in society for that to occur. The political machine of the Left is not merely seeking to oust President Trump. They are busy undermining society’s traditional Judeo-Christian beliefs and their approach is multi-faceted and omni-directional. What President Trump is fighting against is merely a sliver of the whole political pie.
Evil Ahab
Ahab experiences numerous issues with Elijah, with likely the biggest one being Mt. Carmel where Elijah took on the 850 prophets of Baal and where God was victorious. In their defeat, Elijah slaughtered all of the prophets right then and there. Jezebel hears of it and swears revenge on them by promising to kill Elijah, who runs in fear. Ultimately, Jezebel is eventually killed but not before she helps Ahab get what he wanted.
Glutamate Update
Here’s my goal: I want to be as healthy as possible until the time the Lord calls me home. All around me, I see people who don’t even think about what they’re eating! They eat out all the time, they fill their grocery carts with some of the worst garbage that I used to eat! In essence, people have handed over their trust unreservedly to Big Food companies and Big Pharma. Does that not concern you at least for yourself?
Glutamates: The Final Piece of the Health Puzzle?
The simple truth appears to be that too many foods already contain glutamate. As an excitotoxin, this can play havoc with our brains, pushing us way over the edge of feeling tired while wired, making it difficult to calm down and deal with stress. This can all tie in with our adrenals as well, because the adrenals are the ones that help fight off the effects of stress. However, when they become overused, they can come to a point of not working that well or not at all. When this happens, they are unable to fight off the effects of too much glutamate in our systems.
Joseph’s Life and Lessons, Part 8
Folks, I don’t know about you, but the Christian’s character is determined not by how he/she dresses when attending church or even how he/she carries themselves while at church or other religious gatherings and activities, though that is often a reflection of how we view these things. The Christian’s mettle is seen in how we react to situations (both inside and outside), that come into our lives that are not at all palatable or pleasant and if we had our druthers, we would push them away without question. This really is where the rubber meets the road for the Christian because it is the practical experience of our lives daily. It is where our theology and beliefs are tried and either found wanting or confirmed.
