Babylon and Its System, Part 2

Those Christians living during the coming Tribulation will be very tempted to become part of the Babylon system – religiously, economically, politically and socially – and may even want to move to that location to be closer to the action. The fact that once destroyed, Babylon becomes a haunt of demons, unclean spirits, birds and beasts probably affirms the fact that this Babylon in Revelation 17/18 is a real, physical place if physical birds and beasts can dwell there.

Babylon and Its System, Part 1

But Babylon is not simply the apostate religious system in all its forms. It also includes and is undergirded by the economic system that holds it up. This is what Revelation 18 is all about as it shows us a Babylon that is an economic system.

Zechariah’s Near and Far Visions, Pt 1

In the Bible, a “horn” is normally understood to mean “power,” whether from an individual, a group of people, or an empire. Commentators of course disagree on the exact meaning, with some believing the “four horns” represents all Gentile powers (v. 21), to the four corners of the earth, while others believe these horns are representative of Babylon, Medes-Persians, Greece, and Rome (from Daniel 2, 7). Regardless of the exact meaning, it likely refers to Gentile powers that God used to scatter the Israelites from their Land after continued rebellion. However, as is always the case, God holds these “horns” responsible for the way they treated His peculiar people.

Prophecies of Isaiah, Pt 3

There is coming a time though when the “root of Jesse” will reign over this world. Isaiah 11 clearly discusses a time in the future when true peace will prevail and it will prevail because of the fact that this “root of Jesse” will reign on the throne physically in Jerusalem over all nations. As we’ve discussed before, even during this time, sin will exist because people who have survived the Tribulation without dying will go into this time where Jesus reigns supreme. These human beings will continue to have the sin nature though saved and completely regenerated with the new life in Christ. This is why Jesus will need to rule with a “rod of iron” (Psalm 2:9, 27; Revelation 2:27; 12:5, etc.).

Prophecies of Isaiah, Pt 2

One of the interesting things about the book of Isaiah is the fact that, under God’s direction, the prophet constantly goes back and forth between the rebellious nature of Israel and the future of Israel when they will fulfill their created destiny of being a true light to all nations. Because of Israel’s hard hearted nature, rebelliousness, and sinful attitudes, the nation has reaped what she has sown. For most of Israel’s history, nations have plotted against her and she has often been overcome with many Israelites taken into captivity and dispersed throughout the world. This, of course, has been allowed by God for His ultimate glory. In fact, that is why He does anything, not only related to Israel, but related to all people throughout the world.

Prophecies of Isaiah, Pt 1

The prophet Isaiah’s name means “the salvation of the Lord” signifying that true salvation comes from God, not human beings. God offers His salvation, yet men and women since the fall have sought their own means or methods of “salvation,” which are not salvation at all. The book of Isaiah makes this undeniably clear, yet in spite of the truth found throughout Isaiah and history that proves the merit of Isaiah’s prophecies (as being God-inspired or “breathed”), people continue to reject God’s truth to their own peril and detriment.

Truth About Palestine Leftists Don’t Want You To Know

The truth is that the people called “Palestinians” are a construct, a PR creation to advance an ideology and narrative that deposes Israel and Jews living in the Middle East. It is also important to understand why Israel continues to exist and the plans God has for Israel’s future.

Deuteronomy 30 Tells of Future Israel’s Fulfillment

The truth is that even though the first generation of Israelites that went into possess the Promised Land had a limited measure of success in rooting out enemies, they did not ever fully or permanently truly possess the Land and cease from their labors to rid the Land of God’s enemies. This has not yet occurred in history to this day and can be clearly seen in the ongoing conflicts, struggles, and terrorism within the Middle East. What Moses is speaking of here in verses six through eight is really speaking of a yet future time.

What Can We Expect During the Millennium, Part 8?

In many ways, the things that people do now will be done during the Millennium. People will be born, grow, marry, start their own families, have their own children, work, and celebrate life. All of it will be thoroughly rewarding as it was supposed to be when God originally created. It is really difficult to imagine, which is why we need to spend time in His Word so that His truth is illuminated to our hearts.

What Can We Expect During the Millennium, Part 7?

If it is true that Jesus has established His personal and promised Kingdom from the Father’s right hand now, then everything in Revelation and many other portions of God’s Word that define His personal rule over a physical kingdom here on earth following His return during the Millennium, are to be taken allegorically. In fact, if Christ has fully established His Kingdom now, there is actually no point at all for His Second Coming in the final analysis because, according to those who interpret His Word allegorically, Christ is already ruling from the heavens. As such, there is no need for Him to return to fulfill any of the promises related to His physical Kingdom on earth nor is there any need for Him to rule physically from earth.
