Prophecies of Daniel 1, Part 6
In Daniel 1:8-14, we see Daniel’s desire to remain faithful to God. In Daniel 1:15-16, we see Daniel actually remaining faithful to God. His desire to remain faithful to God carried him through so that in reality, Daniel was faithful. It all starts with our desire. If we want to be or remain faithful to God, that is more than half the battle and wanting to be/remain faithful will help us get there.

Prophecies of Daniel 1, Part 4
Let’s also note here that it becomes clear that God gave Daniel this particular ability because God had plans to use Daniel to bring hidden knowledge to us in what would become the twelve chapters of the book of Daniel. Without the ability to receive and discern visions and dreams, we would not have the book of Daniel. We need to comprehend that God gives this type of gift when He sees fit and for His purposes, not for ours.
Discernment is so lacking today among Christians. Too many tend to flit from this latest theological fad (usually connected with Eschatology or prophecy), to that fad, or to that one over there. Instead of studying the Bible for themselves, too many Christians read books about the Bible, attend conferences where other Christians excitedly talk about books they’ve written about the Bible, but those same Christians do not simply study the Bible for themselves.
Prophecies of Daniel 1, Part 2
What Daniel may not have realized was that by doing things God’s way, he was actually eating a very healthy diet that would allow his food to be digested more fully. This in turn meant that Daniel would be gaining as much protein and nutrition from the food he ate as possible. He would eat less and be more full. Conversely, those who ate the king’s food would not experience those benefit because that food was probably overcooked, heavy in fats and salts.
No Enzymes? No Life. Just Ask Daniel
I believe that Daniel eating vegetables and drinking water was extremely good for Daniel because in a perfect world, people should be getting naturally occurring enzymes from the foods we eat. In fact, while I’m not advocating a vegetarian diet by any means (I like beef!), the article at Mercola states that we should be getting naturally occurring enzymes in 75% of the foods we eat. What is the best source for that? The best source is found in RAW (that’s right, raw) vegetables and fruit! Let’s not forget that God Himself did not forbid the Israelites from eating meats. However, there appears to be no greater source of enzymes in nature than in fruits and vegetables and raw ones at that.
Gun Control for Society, but Not for Hollywood?
Last time, we talked very briefly (even if it didn’t seem like it) of Satan’s two main goals: 1) Destroy Jews, and 2) Remove God. He will finally be in a position to attempt to fulfill both of these goals once one very large event happens. He must gain total control of the world, as the Bible clearly says he will. Once there, he must install his spiritual son to the position of Absolute Imperial Ruler.
