Discerning the Times: Nehemiah, The Chosen and CV-19

I tell you this so that your main focus will be the cultivation of the fear of the LORD. As a result, whether you find you have immense empathy for people and a desire to help them or you react toward sin the way Nehemiah did, we should always realize that without fear of the LORD, these things are often done from our flesh.

Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name. (Psalm 86:11 NKJV)

Charles G. Finney: Hero or Heretic?

It seems at every turn, Finney objected to and repudiated sound doctrine, replacing it with his own philosophizing and morality. But we know that our “morality” is filth compared to God’s own righteousness. We know that nothing man can do will help us overcome our sinful condition. That required Another to do what man cannot. Yet, it is clear from his own writings that Finney completely rejected the entire idea of Christ as our propitiation.

Stories, Stories, and More Stories…

Folks, as time progresses and we move closer to the time of Jesus’ return, we must remember that He warned us about the false Christs, the false teachers who would lead many astray (Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21). Heresies Overtaking Churches Today, Pt 1

The movie War Room plays this up. It is intended to change the world so that Jesus will be able to rule this world through Christians and those who profess to be Christian. But again, remember what Warren said. He didn’t even care if the person he worked with was a Muslim as long as the larger goal of destroying the “five giants” listed above is in mind.

Being Called a Heretic…

It is amazing to me how many times I have been called a heretic and for a variety of reasons. It used to bother me, but it has happened so often that it rolls off my back at this point in my life.

I’ve been referred to as a heretic for believing in the PreTrib Rapture position. This is the belief that Jesus will call His own up to heaven with Him prior to the start of the Tribulation. So why is that belief heretical? For a number of reasons apparently.

First, I’m called a heretic because I am not properly preparing people to undergo the horrific troubles of the upcoming Tribulation. I’ve allegedly adopted a laissez-faire attitude toward the Tribulation because of my PreTrib Rapture belief and therefore, I supposedly don’t care because “I’ll be gone!”
