A Mosque to Remember?

It was reported today that the panel that was to decide if the building that Islamic proponents want to turn into a mosque would be classified as an historical landmark.  If so, this would keep those who wish to turn the building into a mosque from doing so since its historicity would be protected.

The New York City panel decided against the move to name the building as historic.  Proponents who wanted the building to be set aside as a landmark argue that part of the wreckage of one of the planes that few into the WTC is lodged inside the building.  This – along with the thousands who protested the attempted coup of Muslim groups was not enough to keep the building from becoming a mosque.

Granted, the full green light has not been given yet, however, with this one huge obstacle out of the way, the building becoming a mosque is one step closer to reality.  A spokesman for the Landmark Commission stated, “The Landmarks Preservation Commission voted 9-0, saying the 152-year-old building blocks from the site of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks wasn’t special or distinctive enough to meet criteria to qualify as a landmark. Commissioners also said that other buildings from the era were better examples of the building’s style.” [1]

Those reasons seem to completely miss the point.  Other groups have not missed the point at all.  “National and New York politicians and the Anti-Defamation League have come out in recent weeks against plans for the mosque, saying it disrespects the memory of those killed in the 2001 attacks carried out by adherents of radical Islam. Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who also chairs the foundation building the Sept. 11 memorial, has defended plans for the mosque.”  It would be a good time to ask whether or not Bloomberg thinks he will be re-elected?

Let’s be frank here.  The reason that this mosque is getting the go ahead has more to do with money than anything else.  Did I read that somewhere?  No, but the truth of the matter is that if millions of dollars were not being poured into the upcoming construction and renovation of the building – which creates jobs for out of work New Yorkers – the likelihood of Muslims getting the green light would be slim to none.

Years ago I watched a movie starring Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman called “All the President’s Men.”  It was about the Watergate affair that brought Richard Nixon and others down.  The one line spoken by “Deep Throat” (played by Hal Holbrook), that stands out in my mind is “Follow the money.”  THAT is the key to any decision like this – the money trail.  Where does it lead FROM, and where does it GO?

As of this writing, a poll at the bottom of the page referenced showed that 82% of those who participated in the poll believed the vote to essentially allow the mosque through is a slap in the face of everyone who died on 9/11.

Really though, when we stop to consider it, what is the actual problem here?  Is it discriminatory to protest this mosque (or any other)?  After all, it could be argued that the perpetrators of the heinously murderous act that occurred on 9/11 were Jihadist Muslims (aka extremists, or violent Muslims).  Surely not all Muslims can be categorized as such.  No, they cannot all be categorized as such and many Muslims people also died in the 9/11 attacks.

The problem though is that Islam is not simply a religion.  It is a religion, a military movement, and a political movement.  It is three things that cover all facets of society.  While there are those within Christianity who believe that it is the obligation of each Christian to become politically involved so that we can bring morality to the government and thereby, causing that to affect society since it is presumed that authentic Christians who run for and are chosen for political office will be able to help mold the way society operates.  This is not true, though it may have been during the days of George Washington and others.

First of all, I believe it is rare when an authentic Christian can run for and become an elected official.  Secondly, why would an authentic Christian WANT to become a politician?  They will immediately run up against the system that undergirds politics, which is “I will vote for your bill, if you vote for mine.”  Who wants that?  Any authentic Christian – unless firmly under the conviction that  God wants them to run for some political office – would be hard-pressed to make any headway at all in such a system.

However, for those who are observant, note that our society is taking a position of wanting to placate Muslims, while they wish to denigrate Christians and Christianity.  Why are they doing this?  As I said yesterday, I believe this is occurring because God is causing it to occur.  He is giving people over to themselves so that they have adopted hateful attitudes toward Christians and Christianity (and Jews and Israel), while finding themselves gravitating toward Islam.

If you stop to consider it, this is nothing but weird.  They are obviously not thinking this through at all because if they were, they would likely ask themselves why they have the attitude they have.  Look at what Paul states in 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12. “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

Those are some strong words.  In other words, Paul is warning that those who reject the truth because they do not love the truth will fall under the power of the greatest deception known to humanity!  God will actually SEND a delusion so strong that those who despise the truth will find it impossible to resist it.  You will not be able to talk to these people rationally, logically, or with the intent to convince.  These people are blind; totally blind to the truth and what they wind up believing to be true is the worst falsehood ever, that Antichrist is god.

In order to get from here to there, this deception must have time to work its way into the hearts and minds of the people who reject the truth because they love a lie.  This is what is happening now.  It is quite possible that Mayor Bloomberg and his administration, along with the commission that has made this decision, have done so based on the belief that they are being pragmatic and even fair.  After all, there are other buildings in the area that appear to them to be more historic.  They are trying so hard to not show any sign of hesitation where Islam is concerned, that they wind up missing the point and looking like morons.  They would argue that point though, firmly believing that those who oppose them are racist, or simply unable to appreciate the gravity of the situation.

This is how it starts.  For instance, look at some of the decisions that President Obama has made.  He has treated PM Netanyahu like an infant, then pretended he didn’t.  He has consistently made demands of Israel that were never part of the negotiations in the past.  He has pushed through his healtcare package all the while saying during his run for president that he would NEVER raise taxes.  Truth be told, the only way he will have the money to pay for  his health care is by raising taxes.  He may find some way of creatively taxing Americans to avoid direct taxation, but we will be taxed.

Beyond this, Obama has made terrible financial and economic decisions, and while America “burns” so to speak, he has no problem sending over 300 million to help rebuild a Gaza that was bombed by Israel.

Obama – as I have mentioned – shows a real favoritism toward Islam while more than keeping Israel at an arm’s length.  He canceled the National Day of Prayer in order to pray with over 50,000 Muslims.  He derides the Tea Party, laughing at them as if they are a joke.  Others in Congress have claimed they are racist, though with all the video available of the alleged racist incidents, there is virtually nothing there.

President Obama is probably the first president to sue one of the states within America because they (Arizona) wants to enforce the immigration laws already on the Federal books.  Those who oppose Obama are leaning toward racism (it is implied).

What temerity!  What narcissistic behavior and in someone who is the leader of the United States of America!  Yet there are many who firmly believe that Obama is doing a great job!  They believe he is going to fix things!  These people are blind and you cannot talk to them.  You cannot try to get them to understand any problems Obama himself has created, because they simply refer to Bush.  These people are unable to see the truth.  They cannot see it no matter how hard they try and they really do not want to see it.  There is absolutely nothing that anyone can do to help them see.

Because there seem to be so many who continue to believe that Obama is “the one” who will save America, this country is experiencing a great divide; those who are for Socialism and those who are not.  I do not believe that President Obama is the Antichrist, though I believe that the Antichrist will likely be Muslim.  He will also outwardly be a friend of the Jew.  The reason is simple.  It is because no Muslim worth his salt would trust anyone outside of Islam.  The Jews might be willing to trust someone – even if he is not a fellow Jew – who would promise peace and the opportunity to rebuild the Temple and worship.

So again, why is the mosque at Ground Zero a problem?  In many ways, if it was simply a mosque, it would not be a problem.  The difficulty though is that in spite of what is being publicly stated – how the mosque will welcome everyone, and be a point of healing for all – that is not how it will work.  Remember, to the Jihadist Muslim, Islam is a religion AND political AND militaristic.  Name one other religion that is all three of these things.  Yes, I realize that Constantine and others tried to make Christianity more than what it was, by marrying the church with the state, but they failed (thankfully).

Islam was BORN on this three-pronged premise – religious, political, military.  These three prongs are literally married and have become one in vision and purpose.  The extreme Muslim sees that.  He recognizes it, works toward it, and longs for it.

Unfortunately, in the past, under Muhammad’s leadership, whenever he went into an area and overtook it, one of the first things he did was to either convert the church and synagogue buildings into mosques, or he would build mosques.  This was his way of showing that he had conquered that area of the world.  He did this wherever he went and so the mosque became (and is) a symbol of dominance and victory for the Muslim.  Yes, Muslims worship at mosques.  They pray to Allah (Satan) at mosques, sing at mosques, study the Qur’an (or have the Qur’an read and explained to them by Imams, since they are not encouraged to read it on their own).  They practice their forms of worship in mosques.

However, that is not all that mosques are used for by Jihadist Muslims.  What better place to plan jihad than in the confines of a mosque, where infidels are not allowed.  Oh sure, everyone will be able to go into certain parts of the Ground Zero mosque, but there are parts of it that will be forever off limits to those who are not part of Islam.  This is not what they want us to believe though, yet this is the truth.

Within the secretive confines of the mosque, where only devout Muslims are allowed, there will be more than worship.  Who is to know because no one will get in.  The FBI would have a difficult time gaining access unless they have the proper warrants and paperwork signed in triplicate and in blood.  The reality is that for the Muslim, the mosque represents much more than religion.  It represents the fact that they are slowly, consistently overtaking the world, building one mosque at a time.  Many in the world see that and go, “Isn’t that nice? Muslims will be able to worship Allah.”  If it was merely religion, that would be something that would be and should be allowed in the United States.  However, because it is political as well as military, it should not happen.

The mosque at Ground Zero will cause many problems and it will be interesting to see if they are able to build it without being interrupted by protesters or worse.  In the end, it will be built and for Islam, it will mean victory.  Those who flew planes into the WTC and the Pentagon will not have died in vain.  They gave their lives so that Islam could gain access to American soil in a big way.

Once this Ground Zero mosque is built, others will be close behind.  Should authentic Christians become angry over it?  No, we should praise God that His will is being accomplished and that it is being done in order that He will ultimately receive the glory.  We should also keep our eyes open for other Islamic situations and mosques that will begin to exert their influence throughout America.  There seems to be no stopping it, as we seem to have passed a point of no return.

Look around.  See what is taking place.  I do not believe we can change it.  I think we should NOTICE it and understand that opportunities to evangelize the lost may appear as they have never appeared before.  We are to be as wise as serpents and as gentle as doves in our approach to those who are lost, but may yet receive Christ.  There are many who are lost and they are lost absolutely.  They are perishing and they will NEVER receive Christ.  However, we do not know who they are so we must treat every opportunity, every lost individual as someone who might potentially receive Christ.  We cannot cast people aside because to us they may appear to be one of those who are perishing (and will perish).  We cannot judge who will or who will not be that person.

Rather than grow frustrated by all that is happening in this great country of ours, we need to look up, give thanks, and glorify the only wise God and Savior, Jesus Christ.  To Him be the glory, the power, the might, and one day all things will bow before Him!
