Oklahoma Says “NO!” to Shariah Law; Muslims Plan to Sue

The recent midterm elections sent some very loud messages, not only to the White House, but to radical Islamists. A potential law that was on the voting block in the state of Oklahoma is designed to say a big NO! to judges who think that they can ignore the U.S. Constitution and look to International and even Shariah Law in making decisions from the bench.
The amendment was overwhelmingly approved by voters by a 70% margin. Some Muslims however, do not like the implications of that law and are planning on asking Federal judges to overturn the new law. “Muneer Awad, who heads the Oklahoma branch of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, says the amendment approved Tuesday by 70 percent of voters violates the U.S. Constitution.” [1]
Here is my question: HOW does this new law violate the U.S. Constitution when in point of fact, it is the U.S. Constitution that GOVERNS the laws of this land? I’m tempted to call Muneer Awad an “idiot” but gosh, that just wouldn’t be nice, would it? Some liberal pansy reading this blog might get really upset with me for having the temerity to call someone else a name because I disagree with him/her and we all know that Jesus never called anyone a name, did he? Wrong.
The idea that Muslims (or ANYONE) can come to this country and attempt to use the U.S. Constitution against its own citizenry is not only ridiculous, but seems to me to be treasonous. The idea that sitting judges in this country – which was founded on the U.S. Constitution – must use another set of laws to determine cases before them makes absolutely no sense and it countermands the legalities of the U.S. Constitution.
You are correct if you are going to accuse me of not being a Constitutional lawyer and I will readily admit that. However, common sense dictates that when there are TWO sets of laws – many of which oppose one another – in play, it becomes confusing to say the least and treasonous at worst to look to laws that did NOT originate with the U.S. Constitution.
Here is the overriding problem: Radical Muslims in this country want to (and even NEED to) have courts in the United States utilize and look to Shariah Law when deciding cases that have to do with Muslims and their belief systems. IF they can successfully force judges to use Shariah Law in Muslim court proceedings, they are doing a number of things:
- they are proving/showing that Shariah Law trumps the U.S. Constitution
- they are claiming more ground for Allah
- they are turning more of America into Islamic rule
Recently, in Great Britain a young female student – Roshonara Choudhry, 21 – who became enamored with radical Muslim cleric,al-Awlaki, attempted to murder Stephen Timms, a Labour MP. She did so by trying to stab him to death after watching hours of sermons by al-Awlaki.
During court proceedings, in which she was ultimately found guilty and given a life sentence, she proclaimed that the British court had no authority over her. To make her point, she remained in her cell during the entire trial, refusing to step foot in the court. She was given a life sentence.
Now the reality is simple: the fact that she does not believe the British court has any authority over her is moot. It makes absolutely no difference. Saddam Hussein and his cronies said the same thing in their court proceedings and where are they now? They can say whatever they want to say, but the truth of the matter is that the courts DO have authority over them. Proof of that is the fact that Hussein was hanged until dead, along with several of his compadres.
In the case of Choudhry, the court DOES have authority over her because she is now serving a life sentence in a British jail. She can think whatever she wants to think, but it matters little. The court determined her sentence and carried it out. Where is Allah in all this? Apparently, he did not want to help her out. Then again, we are talking about a god who needs human beings to kill other human beings on his behalf because he seems powerless to do it himself.
In the case of Oklahoma, radical Muslims there can think whatever they want to think, but for them to honestly believe that in court cases involving Muslims, the U.S. Constitution must be set aside and replaced with Shariah Law is ridiculous.
If a U.S. Citizen lived in a country like Iran and was arrested, does anyone honestly believe that the U.S. Citizen would be tried under the laws of the U.S. Constitution? Hardly. They would relish the idea of trying that person under Shariah Law.
In fact, when a person is arrested in a foreign country, they ARE tried under the laws of that country. Only radical Muslims believe that they have special rights and privileges, allowing them to be judged under their own Shariah Law wherever they are in the world and in whatever country they hang their beanie.
The United States of America was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. Most of the laws in this nation (including laws that govern financial aspects of society) are founded on the Judeo-Christian principles found in Scripture, whether anyone likes it or not.
It is clear that our Muslim President does not like the U.S. Constitution and many Muslims follow his lead. No country can stand when it is being torn apart from within. Radical Muslims know this, which is why they do what they do. They could care less about the U.S. Constitution. They want their laws, their courts, and their god. I have no problem with that, but for those purposes, they should be in a country that already addresses their situations with Shariah Law.
If a ton of U.S. Citizens went to Iran and tried to force the Iranian government to recognize the U.S. Constitution, I’m sure the Iranian government would find some way of putting those same U.S. citizens to death (probably for treasonous acts). Here in America though, we have morons who sit on the judicial bench and make decisions like the one recently made that overturned the conviction of an illegal alien who used a stolen social security number to apply for a loan. In that case, the court decided he wasn’t really trying to assume a false identity. Uh…sure…whatever.
This country was founded on the U.S. Constitution and people who come to live here better get that straight or leave!
I applaud Oklahoma for having the guts to create what Republican Rex Duncan calls a “preemptive strike” against activist judges. The state of Oklahoma needs to fight any and all radical Muslim groups tooth and nail to keep that law on the books and if the White House disagrees with Oklahoma, they should stay out of it!
