USA’s Credit Rating Downgraded – First Time in History of Country

If I was Mr. Obama, I’d certainly be upset. In fact, this administration has accused S & P of a fatal flaw in their recent decision to downgrade the US credit rating from its AAA+ to its current AA+. According to the administration, S & P is somehow guilty of making a 2 Trillion dollar error in their computations, which resulted in the new credit rating for America.
The truth seems to be that this administration has spent, spent, and spent some more. Under Mr. Obama’s leadership – such as it is – trillions of dollars have been spent that this country does not have.
People – including Mr. Obama – want to continue to blame Bush for the state of the economy that Mr. Obama inherited. Yes, the economy was not that great, but what is normally not mentioned are these factors:
- 9/11
- Katrina
- Democrat majority in the House and Senate
If we consider just the above three items, honesty forces us to admit that because of all three of those things, Bush was overwhelmed. While many believe that our own government was behind the 9/11 (that’s crap), these same individuals wind up blaming Bush for “allowing” or even “masterminding” the 9/11 attacks. I’ve seen “Loose Change,” and numerous other videos and I’ve read many of the reports – from both the government and private citizens. I am not convinced that our government was behind it – simple as that.
Because of 9/11, trillions of dollars were spent to restore what was destroyed in this country. We entered a war that occurred when Islam attacked us on our shores. It takes money to do that.
Katrina happened, which also caught that part of the country unguarded. No one expected that to occur with that amount of devastation. All of this takes money to fix.
Both of the above situations took place within the borders of the United States. On top of this, Bush had to deal with a Congress that was fully controlled by Democrats.
People who support Mr. Obama love to say that the president does not make policy. I would agree, however, he has a hand in making it happen. Under Mr. Obama and Democrat-controlled Congress, he got his way with his pet healthcare package that will/is costing trillions in new taxes to put into effect.
Bush could get little done because he did not have enough support in Congress. Remember? The president does not make policy, right?
Since Mr. Obama has taken office, the amount of money he has spent on personal, pet projects amounts to a fortune. He has done so with few stopgaps and until the midterm elections, the Democrats pretty much rubber stamped anything he wanted pushed through. When that did not work, he used the “executive order” as often as possible.
People love to complain about being Afghanistan, yet under Mr. Obama, our troops have been deployed in Libya in something he calls a “kinetic military action.” Calling it that means he did not need Congressional approval like Bush did when he opted to put our troops in Afghanistan.
No one complains about our troops in Libya though. No one says that what Mr. Obama has done is essentially illegal. The Republicans in Congress have not forced the issue either, or have not forced it enough.
Beyond all this, we now have a situation in which for the first time in our nation’s history, our credit has been downgraded. There were threats of this happening with other presidents, but it has now happened and it happened on Mr. Obama’s watch.
True to form, instead of accepting responsibility for it, he is once again playing the blame game. This time he is blaming S & P. However, in my mind, S & P should have downgraded our credit rating a while ago, but did not. I think the organization went to the very end in the hopes that they would not have to downgrade it simply because it has never been done in this country’s history.
Here’s what I think. I think Mr. Obama’s “handlers” are fed up with him. I don’t even believe they want to see him re-elected now. They are likely scoping the horizon for their next candidate to see who might step in and do what Mr. Obama failed to do.
The reality seems to be that while Mr. Obama has his own view of how to destroy this country, he was forced to do the bidding of the people who put him into office and I’m not talking about the average citizen. I’m talking about the people with all the money and the power. They put him into office believing that because he’s black, he would be “fire-proof.” Mr. Obama certainly tried to play by their rules but failed because it is clear that his personal ideology is likely far different from those who made it possible for him to be elected.
I was watching O’Reilly last night and he interviewed Ed Asner. Asner, for those who do not, is an avowed Socialist. When O’Reilly asked him whether he thought Mr. Obama was doing a good job, Asner did not hesitate. He stated that he did not believe Obama was doing a good job at all. Again, this is from a Socialist.
On Hannity last night, they talked about the Tea Party and how 41% of the people are now against the Tea Party, as opposed to 18% a year or so ago. I’m not sure about those numbers but they interviewed one member of the Tea Party in Sacramento who stated that in actuality, 59% of the people support the Tea Party, which is also up, apparently.
The truth of the matter is that more and more Democrats are coming out to blame the Tea Party. Kerry did just that yesterday by stating that the news bureaus should not be giving “equal time” to extreme groups such as the Tea Party that are completely out of touch (my paraphrase).
The problem is that it is clear that the Tea Party scares people. It scares them because the Tea Party has gained momentum and continues to gain it. People are tired of higher taxes and out-of-control government spending. People are tired of big government, getting bigger.
Under Mr. Obama, the amount of regulations he has tried to ram through that wind up working not only against large corporations, but against average citizens is amazing. Please don’t tell me that he wants our economy to turn around. Don’t look me in the eye and lie to me by saying that Mr. Obama inherited a mess and wants to make it better. Mr. Obama has shown no sign of wanting to improve our economy. I can’t find any evidence of it. All I see is a man bent on destruction. The people who continue to support him are either living in fantasy land or they are simply unable to comprehend just exactly how all of Mr. Obama’s expenditures, regulations, and executive orders have worked against the American economy.
Spending is not the answer. Raising taxes is not the answer. I guarantee that if taxes were raised against corporations, we would see fewer jobs, not more. The average liberal doesn’t get it though. They fail to see how the human mind works. They live in a bubble of their own making that lies to them daily.
Mr. Obama has put this country in the ditch. Even if Bush had done so, (which I do not believe he did), Mr. Obama came along and here we are three and a half years later, and he is still blaming Bush, taking no responsibility for his own actions, or lack of them.
S & P’s credit downgrade will go down in history as happening on Mr. Obama’s watch. It seems clear to me that he will not be able to talk himself out of this one. He just celebrated his 50th birthday and spent a ton of taxpayer money to do it, I’m sure.
Mr. Obama is also on the re-election trail, trying to shore up votes and garner what he can to remain in office. Shouldn’t he be trying to fix a broken economy? Shouldn’t he be spending less and cutting more from government programs? Instead, he seems completely unconcerned about the troubles within our economy, content to blame Mr. Bush for what he (Obama) inherited and blaming S & P for their fatal flaw in calculation, which resulted in our credit downgrade.
I was on a forum the other day and one brilliant individual stated that our government is big and will always spend more than it takes in. Really? That kind of thinking is foolish. So if I have a large household then, it’s perfectly fine to spend more than I earn and the banks will understand?
Our current credit rating is the result of the chickens coming home to roost. We have gotten what we deserved and I really don’t think it’s going to be smooth sailing from this point on where Mr. Obama is concerned.
The Tea Party and Patriot movements are growing because people see this country slipping away from its original moorings. The lefthead press has tried to paint these groups as racist. When that didn’t work, they became extremists. When that didn’t work, the label “terrorist” was applied to them.
The truth is that people see just how right the Tea Party and Patriot movements are to millions of average citizens in this country. The liberals are afraid and because of it, they attack.
I was a bit surprised to hear John McCain refer to Tea Party people as “hobbits.” I’m not quite sure what he meant, but he obviously meant it as a slur and insult.
With his recent comments, Kerry is also trying to intimidate and downplay the power of the people who have united under one cause. Both McCain and Kerry are now seen for what they are – morons. Kerry did not surprise me, but McCain did.
What will turn this country’s economy around? It would turn around if the government would STOP overspending and START cutting our programs that are superfluous to this nation’s economy.
I doubt seriously that this will happen under Obama’s watch. His handlers have now realized that they moved too fast, too soon. They will now have to pull back, get a candidate who at least appears to be more conservative and will continue to work behind the scenes to accomplish what Mr. Obama was completely unable to do.
In short, Mr. Obama has cemented his role in history as the worst president in history, the only one in which our nation’s credit rating was downgraded. If that does not reflect his actions and inactions, nothing will.
Mr. Obama, prepare to be tossed in the pile. You have been used by the powers that be and found severely wanting. Bye, bye. Take Eric Holder with you.
