An Open Letter to Our Governmental Leaders

Dear Lawmakers and Government Officials,
I would like to thank you for bringing our country as far down as it current is now. Our jobless rate is at an all-time high with no end in sight, the economy has all but tanked, and while you were not directly involved in our natural disasters, I believe that you are still culpable.
I believe – as I have stated before – that it is because of not only your position regarding Israel, but your stance AGAINST Israel that has brought us to the point we are not at. This is clear enough from Scripture.
In Genesis 12, 15, and 17, God promised then reiterated His promise that whoever cursed Abraham (and the resulting nation that God brought forth from his loins) would be cursed and whoever blessed Abraham/Israel, would be blessed.
Instead, over the past few decades, the U.S. Government has increasingly tossed Israel under the bus and this has never before been so clearly seen as it is now, under the current administration.
While it seems, our government (and other governments) cannot do enough to oppose Israel, God is not silent. While I’m aware that many atheists and others would poo-poo the idea that this nation’s troubles are the result of any dealings with Israel (or any nation for that matter), their OPINION means nothing to me. They are their highest authority and as such can go nowhere else except within to find truth.
On the other hand, I choose God and His Word and I see the calculated fulfillment of many prophecies within His Word. This tells me that there is truth in His Word and because of that, I can look for all of His promises to come into effect, especially where Israel is concerned.
It would appear that the countries that also oppose Israel are coming under greater dominance by Islam and evil in general. Those countries that get behind the Palestinians and try to force Israel to give up more than that nation has already given up, are reaping what they have sown. Because they have dared to take a stand against Israel, God has taken a stand against them. It is merely too coincidental to actually be coincidence.
During Bush’s administration, this country experienced 9/11. That evil was perpetrated on this country by those loyal to Allah. That should have been a wake-up call to us regarding our stance against Israel. It wasn’t. Instead of looking for the real reason behind the attack, we merely went after those who did the physical attacking. While I firmly believe this is what our response should have been, I also believe we should have gone much further to ask whether or not God Himself was standing against this nation because of our roadblocks against Israel. This, we did not do, and I believe God is still trying to get our attention because of it.
It seems that during the Bush-era, we had 9/11 and then Katrina as the largest events that occurred then. Now, we have experienced a flurry of tornado activity, hurricanes, earthquakes and much more besides. While our government has – thankfully – been able to stop terrorist attacks before they happened, I don’t believe we are still getting the picture at all.
We now have someone in the Oval Office who is not at all supportive of Israel. The idea that this administration is going to try to stop the U.N. from approving a Palestinian state is simply cannon fodder because nothing this or many previous administrations have done have come without strings attached. Such will be the case with this latest effort as well.
What our governmental leaders do not seem to comprehend is that a direct correlation exists between how a nation’s leaders act toward Israel and what that country experiences. It is a connection that is apparent throughout history and in the present day.
Because of the proclivities of our current president, who at the very least, has sympathies for the Arabs and Muslims alike, he will never come around to seeing Israel as anything more than a bug to be squashed, unless of course God opens his eyes to the truth. Because of this, our entire country is held accountable for the actions of this man in the Oval Office and those in our government who side with him in their opposition to Israel.
What can be done about that? I believe that the less we oppose Israel, the greater will be the reduction of problems in this country. Unless current eyes are opened, it will take a different person to become president, one who at the very least is not as opposed to Israel and who backs off from the rhetoric. Optimistically, it will take a leader who stands WITH Israel to watch our problems in this country largely disappear.
I was reading through the book of Obadiah this morning and it is interesting to read about how God will deal with Edom. Edom at its zenith was surrounded by Philistia to the left, Judah to the north, Moab to the northeast, and south of the Dead Sea.
Edom came from Esau, but some commentators also connect those people with ancient Egyptians. Nonetheless, because of the way they treated Israel, they were judged, severely. Many believe that the fortified and virtually walled in city of Petra, which was built within the rocks, was the capital or at least a very important city within Edom. Yet, in spite of the fact that they seemed completely invulnerable, they were destroyed.
What is interesting is that God did the judging and the destroying. In the book of Obadiah, we are not only told of Edom’s judgment, but of Israel’s sins. This is common in the OT, which simply speaks to its veracity. What nation would – if writing about itself – include its faults, foibles, and judgments as the OT does with respect to Israel? Surely, they would have shown themselves in a far greater light had the OT merely been written by people and not God.
The other interesting thing to note is that in spite of Israel’s sin, Edom is being judged because of the way they dealt with Israel. This tells us that God is fully aware of Israel’s sin and it also tells us that He will deal with Israel. He does not expect or call anyone in this world to deal with them. While He may move a nation to come against Israel for her chastisement, it is noteworthy to realize that the nation God uses is always judged (unless they turn to God).
So the point is clear – or should be. The world is supposed to support Israel and leave judging Israel to God. He will deal with it and He will take from the purged nation of Israel a final Remnant, one that worships Him and Him alone.
Yet, in spite of this, nation after nation today is attacking Israel verbally, or physically. They remove support for them and expect Israel to come kowtowing. Such is the case with Turkey, which is demanding an apology from Israel for the flotilla situation. If Turkey continues on this path, then we should watch to see what God’s reaction to Turkey will be. Turkey is largely Muslim and is growing to a point of hatred toward Israel.
Egypt, in the throes of “democracy,” is actually giving itself over to the Muslim Brotherhood. The treaty that Egypt had with Israel has been canceled, so we will see if the Scriptures pertaining to Egypt’s judgment is also going to come true. We can assume that if Egypt continues on their chosen course, judgment will come.
So not only is Egypt rejecting democracy, but radical Islam is likely going to take charge, something Mosab Yousef guaranteed would never happen! It’s happening and all I can say is what a great misdirection that was, Mosab.
Libya, Tunisia and other areas in that region are also falling to Islam. That entire northern part of Africa will succumb to Islam and that will simply engender more feelings of superiority and power within Islam.
Look, I’ve read the Book. I know how it’s going to end. I know who will be Victor and it is not Islam. Yet, the world not only stands against Israel, but is too busy kowtowing to Islam to notice the problem that is being created for their individual countries.
The the leaders of this nation, I am asking that you take the time to ask yourself what would happen if the United States actually supported Israel? Would we be worse or better off? If history has anything to say (along with the present), it seems the answer is obvious.
How about all of our leaders doing what is right for a change and ignore political correctness? How about we get behind Israel and see if God doesn’t change His mind because of it, about the United States?
I believe if we continue on this path, we have only ourselves to blame for the greater upheaval that is coming. Yet, unless God opens some eyes, I’m quite confident that our leaders will look around and wonder why things are happening the way they are happening. In other words, they have no clue and as long as their eyes remained closed to the abuses heaped on Israel, they will remain clueless. In that case, then we can watch the United States continue to crumble to the ground.
This is – I believe – what the elite of the world want. I was talking with my father-in-law yesterday who spent his growing up years in Europe. He watched as Hitler’s fascism threw him into “relocation” camps. His family lost everything. He started over as did millions of others.
He told me that he has seen things collapse at least two times previously and each time, the world’s economy started all over again. He believes that the world’s leaders are pushing for the same thing to happen again. This time however, the world will be forced to come together as one, with one currency, one political party, and one ideology.
This is the only way that the global elite can continue to be rich, by making everyone else completely poor and totally dependent upon a governmental system. People may think that this will make them safer, but as my father-in-law said, he grew up under several regimes. NONE of them were pleasant and the only ones who benefited were those completely IMMERSED in the system and CONTROLLED it. The average individual was at the mercy of that system.
This is what people on the government dole do not realize. Eventually, it MUST come to an end. It cannot go on forever because the population continues to grow and there is only so much money to go around. Does anyone really believe that the global elite are willing to give up any of what they have? Think again.
In the meantime – prior to the global collapse – this country can find favor with God by supporting Israel. That’s the only way that there will be some measure of economic growth in this country over the long haul.
I have read some of the economic proposals by GOP candidates running for president. I like what a number of them have to say, but I like what Herman Cain says best. To paraphrase, he says that this country is on life support and we need answers, not speeches. To that end, he has revealed his 9-9-9 plan. It entails a 9% national sales tax, a 9% personal income tax, and a 9% corporate tax, across the board. In this way, everyone pays their fair share. It’s a great idea and it would work if Congress got behind it. The problem is that Congress would literally be taken out of the picture with a plan like that, making our government that much smaller. Gee, what a terrible idea…
So even if Cain got elected and was able to put his plan into effect, the reality is that as long as this country continues its current stance AGAINST Israel, I do not believe this country would grow or improve noticeably. But if Cain became the next president, it is good to know that he also supports Israel.
This government and country has plenty to lose if they continue on their current path of Israeli rejection. Would the situation in this country change if our leaders began to support Israel? I believe it would, but there is no way to know unless our leaders actually turn to support Israel.
So, to our nation’s leaders, I am asking you that you join the ranks of all the other politicians of our country who currently support Israel. Join with them to stave off God’s judgment. If you don’t, then we can expect worse things to come. Are you ready to accept blame for them? Whether you are or aren’t ready, it makes no difference to God. He has revealed what it takes to be blessed and He has revealed what it takes to be cursed. We are being cursed now. Let’s try reaching out for His blessing instead. What do you say?
