Sharia Law Comes Through the Back Door in Austria

This is happening more and more and it should not be. Legislation should NOT be made to keep people from speaking out against religions or ideologies. People should be allowed to express their opinions without fear of legislative reprisals.
Let’s face it, many in the world today have little to nothing to say that would be construed as good where Christianity is concerned. That’s normally because Christianity is not seen separately from the history Roman Catholicism and its excesses.
Even aside from that, the Name Jesus Christ is often used as an epithet. Sometimes, He is even provided with the middle initial “H.” Regardless, there are many ways in which Christianity is denigrated today. It’s obvious even to the casual observer.
Not only am I sick and tired of it, but I’m also just as sick and tired of the charlatans and money-makers within Christendom (note I did NOT say “Christianity” but “Christendom”), who prey on those who are either unable or unwilling to think for themselves and are often “guilted” into giving money that could be better spent elsewhere.
All that aside, it is clear that Christianity is fair game for anyone who wants to attack it and as much as I don’t like it, that’s one of the “benefits” of living in a free society. People say tremendously intelligent things and they also say some horrendously imbecile and hateful things.
In the end, people should be able to offer their criticism of any ideology or religious philosophy. If society determines that one should be protected, then all should be protected.
Radical Islam wants to remove the right of people to say things about Islam that Muslims might find denigrating. In order to bring that about, laws have to be made. Then when the law is broken, people can be arrested.
Such is the case in numerous places like the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. It’s also creeping into places like Austria, where a woman who works for/represents for ACT! for America was arrested and charged with “denigrating religious beliefs.”
According to an article, Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff, who was charged with this crime, lost the battle so far to have the charges overturned. [1]
This is not only sad and tragic, but it is obviously – as ACT! for America stated – a black day for free speech.
Sabaditsch-Wolff was charged and arrested (and eventually convicted) because she held seminars on what she believed were the dangers of radical Islam. Interestingly enough, she was tried by one “multi-cultural judge and no jury.” [2]
This is plain wrong. It is unconscionably wrong that people cannot express their opinion or in this case, historical fact, about a group of people without being hauled off to jail.
The more you read of the trial proceedings, the more you can only feel that it was a joke. First, she was charged with hate-speech, then the added charge of denigrating religious beliefs was added by the judge after the trial began. It seems as though the judge was intent upon ensuring Sabaditsch-Wolff’s guilt.
As I have said on numerous occasions, I do not like what people say about Christianity, about Christians, and about Jesus Christ. In the end though, that’s on them. The idea that laws need to be made to address alleged “hate speech” by someone who is presenting facts about an ideology is ludicrous. There is no other word for it.
This world is quickly arriving to the point of George Orwell’s “1984” yet few seem to be noticing it. I suspect they are not noticing it because it is not yet directly impacting them or their particular beliefs. If/when it does get to that point, they will likely start screaming about it. Of course, then it will be way too late to do anything. The time to act was yesterday even with those who do not agree with or even respect Christianity or religion at all. That’s not really the point, is it? The actual point is that as we watch, our freedoms are being stolen from us under the guise of either political correctness or national security. How long will we allow that continue before it’s way too late to do anything about it?
Years ago, I recall one liberal after another shouting that you cannot legislate morality! Oh yeah, that was the big catchphrase at the time and it was generally used against conservatives who wanted to try to roll back some of the excesses in society. The liberals then were plainly against anything that smacked of Judeo-Christian mores.
Now however, I don’t hear any liberals speaking out against this new legislation that seems to be taken the world by storm. Why should any ideology or religion remain safe from critique? It shouldn’t. The fact that Sharia is finding its way into the courts is a dream come true for radical Muslims. It’s back door politics but they’ll take it however they can get it and it obviously doesn’t matter that it is wholly inequitable toward everyone else who is not Islamic in the first place.

Well said!~
I’m glad I worship the true God who has no problems with anyone who would denigrate Him-He doesn’t tell us to protect His holy name from those who would blaspheme it. Allah is a very insecure god, obviously. Fickle, too.
It sure is the time of calling good evil, and evil good…
BTW, thank you for your Vimeo videos. The Department of Homeland Security is watching them. 😕
