Israel: God’s Miracle, And Proof Of His Existence

For God, Israel is the center of the world.

For God, Israel is the center of the world.

Ever give any thought to the fact that what was once as good as dead, came alive? That is Israel…

God in His infinite mercy is gracious. He prods, but He never forces. He waits for us to accept his open invitation. To come back to Him, to understand, and to open our eyes.

I’ll never forget one night in 2004 when I was having one of my internal wars with God. Furious with him for allowing me to suffer with a disease for which there is no cure and the unbearable pain that goes along with it, I was enraged, bitter, and spiteful. But in my stupidity, I couldn’t see that God has a master plan for the entire human race. And we all suffer, for better or for worse.

It’s not all about me. But yet in most people’s minds it is and I’m no different today. The obsession with self is the apex of sin. The love of self is sin at its core. And it’s a constant affliction.

But that night, in a state of utter internal turmoil a light switch went on. I was channel surfing late and happened upon a Hal Lindsey broadcast. And in that broadcast he said the one word that I had never thought about or cared about. And certainly had never heard about in church: Israel. The key piece of the puzzle. The only missing piece of the puzzle that is His master plan and a plan that soon will be fulfilled.

And then it was like I was blind and could see for the first time, the truth that I had never acknowledged or didn’t want to think about. Israel, the literal miracle of Israel.

In thinking about what Israel stands for, tears well up. The utter impossibility of a group, a nation, being scattered for almost 2,000 years and then by a miracle of God, brought back to their land on May 14, 1948 is proof of God’s faithfulness. The odds of a  “re-gathering” from all the nations of the world of this magnitude is a literal impossibility. And to enable them to speak Hebrew, a dead language, is undeniable proof of God’s existence. It clicked and I got it.

Israel is God’s time-clock. On May 14, 1948, the clock started ticking. And today, it is impossible to deny that we are nearing the final innings of the home stretch. The evil is all-encompassing. Islam, the religion of death, is an all-encompassing force. Wickedness is rampant. Perversion is celebrated. Up is down and bad is good. There is every proof that we are living in the last of the last days. And that the time of the Gentiles is drawing to a close.

Why do we shy away from prophecy? Knowing that no man knows the hour doesn’t make it any less important. For we see the changing weather, and know a storm is coming. And we see Israel, brought from the ashes as proof that there is a God, and He is real.

The naysayers can scream all they want (cf. Psalm 2). And there is little wonder why Israel is the most hated nation on earth. The one nation with the “most” human rights violations as deemed by the U.N. and with every nation determined to destroy her. Israel is God’s handiwork and Satan is doing everything in his power to see that she is destroyed. Destroying Israel saves Satan from his certain fate: being thrust into the Lake of Fire forever. If he can destroy every last Jewish person, then no Jew will be able to go in and fully possess the Promised Land during the Millennial Reign of Jesus. God will be proved to be a liar. But that won’t happen.

Everything happening today is spiritual. To fully understand the depths of it, one needs to see through the lens of prophecy. Otherwise, none of it makes sense. But when the light switch comes on, it’s like being struck by lightning. The fig tree is blooming. And the time is coming soon.

But now, we wait and watch all the nations come to try to solve the “Israel” problem.

Zechariah 12:2-3 says, “Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah. It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it.”

All nations will be gathered against Jerusalem. As the skies darken in the Middle East, and the burden of Damascus comes to fruition now or at a later date, the words of the prophets become more clear. They pierce the heart with undeniable truth.

Israel, He is coming. Your Messiah is coming. Though the Tribulation is yet to come, Jesus Christ is coming for His people. The chosen ones. Soon, the time of the Gentiles will come to an end. But this is no time for fear or dread. A promise was made and a promise will be fulfilled.

If anything proves that God is real, Israel is the proof of His miracle, and undeniable proof of His existence!

Wonderful article! I was thinking after having read your last post just what Janna said here: that studying prophecy is what makes everything make sense.

I heard ages ago that anyone who messes with Israel are poking God in the eye (Israel is the apple of God’s eye). One day it will be one poke too many! If only unbelievers would stop to wonder why it is such an all-fired big deal to wipe Israel off the map and why, oh, why! is Jerusalem and Israel always in the news?! And why the hatred toward them of all people?

In the meantime, your last post reminded me of the song that Crystal Lewis sings, “People get ready, Jesus is coming, and soon we’ll be going home…” I best go find the YouTube version so I can sing more than the chorus… 😮
