Israel to Re-Open Temple Mount Site

Interestingly enough, this should prove once and for all that Israel controls the Temple Mount, not Islam. If Israel did not control the site, they would not have been able to close the site to all visitors, Jews, Christians, and Muslims alike. They have now re-opened the site amidst rising tensions.

Israel barred all access to a contested sacred site in the Old City for the first time in many years on Thursday, a step that a Palestinian spokesman denounced as “a declaration of war” and one that strained Israel’s crucial alliance with neighboring Jordan.

Notice how the “Palestinian” spokesman notes that the closure of the site was a “declaration of war.” Yet, apparently shooting of a Jewish rabbi – whom the New York Times refers to as an “agitator” – is not even mentioned. Rabbi Yehuda Glick was approached by a man on a motorcycle this week as Glick was placing posters in his car. The man on the motorcycle asked Glick to identify himself, which he did. The man then shot Glick three times as point-blank range, wounding him severely. At this writing, Glick is still in the hospital in guarded condition, but stabilizing.

It was due to this attack that Israel closed the Temple Mount area. This unwarranted, murderous attack by a “Palestinian” attempting to kill another Jew was the declaration of war. I cannot help but wonder how many Arabs and Muslims celebrated that shooting?

The suspect has since been killed by Israeli police as they went to his house and the suspect opened fire on them.

Shin Bet security service confirmed the death of the suspect, described as a 32-year-old Palestinian who had spent time in an Israeli prison. His name was given as Moatez Higazi, an activist for the Islamic Jihad terror group.

Even though Glick’s father told reporters that his son – Yehuda Glick – had complained to police on many occasions that his life had been threatened, nothing had been done. Just prior to shooting Glick, the gunman was overheard by witnesses stating, “You’ve made me very angry” and did so with a heavy Arabic accent in Hebrew.

Shortly after Higazi was shot dead, clashes broke out in Abu Tor, with Palestinians hurling stones at the riot police, who responded with rubber bullets to suppress the demonstration. Residents gathered on rooftops, chanting pro-Palestinian slogans while police set up checkpoints to control access in and out of the neighborhood.

Yehuda Glick was a rabbi who believed that there was room on the Temple Mount for Jews, Christians, and Muslims to worship together, yet separately. Since rags like the New York Times (and many others) refer to Glick as an “agitator” or worse, certainly, it gives the impression that he is working to create a hostile environment.

The ironic part is that here in America, when Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson do what they do, which is nothing short of agitating black trash/thugs, the media never refers to these individuals as “agitators” or “extremists,” yet this is exactly what they are and their purpose for being is to intensify the violence in a given black trash community.

Temple Mount is controlled by Israel

Temple Mount is controlled by Israel

ut the reality in Israel is that the government of Israel obviously has the rights to the Temple Mount because of the authority they exercise in controlling when it is open and when it is closed. This all took place because of the Six-Day War in 1967. Led by Moshe Dayan, Israeli troops entered and fought hard in the area of the Temple Mound and East Jerusalem. Eventually, Israeli forces won the day and gained control of the Temple Mount…on paper. Israel’s mistake was in not taking control of the area physically. They didn’t want to upset the apple cart, so they allowed Muslim forces to be “in charge” of the site.

Since that time, it has become almost impossible for Jews (and even Christians at times) to go to that area and be free from assault and aggression by Muslim and Jewish security forces. Israel wants desperately to keep the peace and so by going overboard and not allowing Jews who go to the Temple Mount to pray, they believe Muslims will be placated. Too many incidents have proven that this is not the case.

When Israel did gain control of the Temple Mount on paper, this actually fulfilled prophecy from several passages of the Hebrew Bible (OT) referencing how the city of Jerusalem would be unitedDaniel 9:27 implies that a Jewish Temple would be rebuilt.

And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate.

In order for the sacrifices and grain offerings to stop, “he” (Antichrist) will have to defile the Temple. This event has not occurred yet, which implies that a Temple will be in existence when Antichrist comes to power or shortly thereafter.

Matthew 24:15 states, “Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand)…” Here, Jesus references the same event that Daniel speaks of, yet it is clear from Jesus that the event had not occurred up to and including His lifetime. It has not occurred since His death and resurrection either, therefore it is yet future.

The same event is referenced in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4.

Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.

Here, Paul details the same event in which Antichrist will defile the Temple. In order for this event to occur, the Jewish Temple will need to be rebuilt. It won’t need to be rebuilt on a grand scale so long as the Holy of Holies exists so that Antichrist can go in and declare himself God.

We now have clear proof that Israel not only has access to the Temple Mount area, but fully controls it, though they have allowed Muslims to go to the Temple Mount to worship at the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa mosques. While the Temple Mount area is the most important spiritual site for Jews, this same site is only the third most important site for Muslims.

Things are not going to calm down in the Middle East, Israel, or Jerusalem. If anything, they will worsen, until at some point Daniel 9:27 will be fulfilled. Note the first part of that verse tells us that a covenant will be brokered between Israel and surrounding Arab nations and the “he” in that verse (Antichrist). Antichrist will have great interest in gaining peace for that area of the world for one “week” or seven years, so that Israel can undertake the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple. Antichrist needs that temple to be rebuilt so that at the midway point of three and a half years, he can defile it. Once he declares himself God, it is then that persecution breaks out onto the world such as has never been seen before nor will again (cf. Matthew 24).

The world is rapidly moving toward that time when “peace” will reign for Israel, a new Jewish Temple will be built, and the world will celebrate this peace. It will be short-lived and will end with tremendous persecution of both Jews and Christians living during that time.

But now we know. Israel controls the Temple Mount, not Islam.
