We recently got together with our son and his family to celebrate his birthday. While we were eating, we began talking about two things that have drastically and irreparably changed society and not for the better: AI and social media.

Years ago, when social media came to fruition on the landscape, it was originally meant to allow people to stay in touch with each other. I vividly remember the first time we used Facebook to keep in touch with our daughter who was away at college. Over time however, social media turned into this giant billboard for anyone who wanted to say anything. A good portion of it was becoming negative, to say the least.

Today, with the multitude of social media websites, people gravitate toward them and post whatever they want to post. As true “keyboard warriors,” nothing is off limits. Death threats, promises to overturn societal norms and attacks on people not even known personally to the original poster are common today. In fact, what seems clear is that social media and the general anonymity behind it, has allowed people to post whatever they want to post often times in a vicious manner, which serves (they hope), to egg others onto accomplish what is being posted.

Here are a few cases in point. Hasan Kwame Jeffries is reportedly Hakeem Jeffries’ brother. Notice his post. In it, he says “This is our democracy. And WE are taking it back.” Okay, whatever. What does he mean by that? He is egging OTHER people on to allegedly take back our “democracy.” Will he be involved? Only from the back lines way in back. You won’t see him or his brother take up arms. Their goal is to ignite the flame in low IQ/low info voters who have very little if any constraint and can easily be ginned up to get out on the front lines to cause damage. Meanwhile people like the Jeffries brothers remain safely hidden behind their computers and/or podiums while they stage their revolutionary ideologies, broadcasting it to the people they cater to.

Years ago, this would not have been possible, but social media has not only made it possible, but created the opportunities. In another example, we see an actor from the “Breaking Bad” series call for a revolution. Again, would he be involved in the lines of people seeking to create that revolution? Of course not. Both he and Jeffries are simply dog whistling to their followers to get out, make some noise and cause societal division.

This is why riots/looting/burnings from the likes of Black Lives Matters (BLM) and AntiFa groups was put together so well. Because of social media, funding was made far easier and calling the “troops” was a cinch. But these people who simply call for it and remain in the background are the real cowards, who egg on others, while they remain safely away from the situations they create.

If you go on any social media today, you will find people divided by political persuasion. Anyone who hates Trump vs anyone who thinks he’s doing a good job are continually at odds. It has created such a rift in society, that it likely cannot heal.

Leftists (and I loathe calling them liberals because they are not that at all), are vehement in their hatred of any conservative. For too long, the belief that white people are white supremacists solely because of the way they were born has become accepted belief, based on Critical Race Theory. Too many people of color (as well as Leftwing whites), embrace this ideology and because of it, have grown in their anger and calls for reparations/retribution against white people. Government departments have aided and abetted this type of errant belief system that rewards people of color and comes down hard on white people.

There are too many examples of people of color raping or killing white people and essentially getting a slap on the wrist for it. Many of the perpetrators have been arrested dozens of times yet are continually released into society. I don’t think there’s any turning back from it either.

I’d also like to say that I do not know any blacks who routinely act like many caught on video. They simply don’t exist in my realm. Yet, go to a deep blue state or city and you are likely to experience a rabid response from a group of blacks who hate whites for no other reason than they’ve been told to hate.

The other problem with social media is the fact that being a keyboard warrior means you are safe and often anonymous. You can post your diatribes, your hatred, your threats and in many to most cases, get away with it. Here’s a good example of this as a woman literally threatens to kill President Trump and his family. Should she be taken seriously? I have no idea, but the fact that she can say what she says with intention and act as though she will follow through is concerning.

The biggest problem with social media is what it has become, not what it started out as. Everyone is so brave when they are talking into their phones or computers and it is impossible to know who would be likely to carry through with their threats. In a recent situation, Cole Tomas Allen brought guns and knives to the recent White House correspondent’s dinner in an attempt to assassinate President Trump.

If you’ve seen the video, he literally runs past secret service agents with a rifle out in the open. You can see three LEOs leaning against the wall and when he runs by, they run the other way. But my point is that by all accounts, Allen was brought up in a well-to-do family, was seen as polite and cordial and even attended a church. Yet clearly he was motivated either by inner demons or outward forces to attempt to kill Donald J. Trump.

I have zero respect for Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and a few others, but I would never wish them to be assassinated. Yet, this is becoming the normal way in which the Left sees a “solution” to what they consider to be the “problem.” The Left has been canceling people for years even going so far as to kill people like Charlie Kirk. Many continue to wrongly believe Kirk was a racist and a hater. All he did was try to have actual conversations with people on college campuses and for that, he was murdered.

I watched a video of a man standing on the street outside restaurants and such in some downtown area. He simply had a cardboard poster he had created. People were up in arms. They wanted him to leave the area, to not be able to have that sign. He was accused of inciting violence and fascism. He pointed out that it was the average person on the street who was saying that he should not be there, did not have the right to share his opinion and that he should be shut down, that were the fascists, the same Leftists who were accusing and antagonizing him had no response and a few of them simply walked away. They were beat but could not admit it, so they continued hating.

They all could have easily ignored the guy with his sign. Instead, they wanted to shut him down, vilify him, make his life miserable all because he shared an opinion they did not agree with and became incensed. This tells us everything we need to know about the Left. They cannot handle someone who does not agree with their position and they want that person canceled, shut down and even murdered.

Cole Tomas Allen is one of those people and fortunately, though he got passed secret service agents in his attempt to shoot Trump, he apparently tripped and fell on the stairs allowing agents to catch up to him and arrest him. Not only did he have a shotgun, but a pistol and several knives on his person. He had sent out a sort of manifesto just prior to his attempted attack.

Did social media play any part in what he attempted? At this point we don’t know but there is generally so much on the Internet that’s available to the public, we may find he was part of some dark group that wants to kill not only Trump but conservatives in general.

It doesn’t help that millions of third worlders have been imported into the USA and other western nations in a very clear and obvious attempt to overthrow those nations from within. It’s taking its toll on society and social media has greatly enlarged the opportunities for Marxists and others like them to destroy from within.

But of course it’s not just social media that’s destroying society. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is contributing. Today, it is difficult to know if what you are looking at in either picture of video format is actual or AI. Generally, AI is “smoother” than videos taken in real life. My son can normally pick these things out very quickly.

In talking with my son about AI, he noted that as a tool, it’s fine. The problem comes into play when it starts taking a much more prominent role in society and replacing people from their jobs. AI doesn’t get tired. It doesn’t need a break or take a lunch. It won’t talk back. It simply does what it is programmed to do repetitively for hours on end. Businesses are investigating ways to use humanoid AI robots to do the jobs that people used to do.

Society is not in a good place at all. It would be best to stay away from the deep blue areas. Too much of what’s happening throughout the world is being either prompted or magnified by social media and AI. The fact that law enforcement seems to aid and abet (either willingly or unwillingly), those who come here as “migrants” and break the law also adds fuel to the fires that are raging throughout society. It is becoming more and more clear that there is a two-tiered system of justice in many western nations, including the USA. If you are a person of color, you are less likely to go to prison for any real length of time, most of the time simply being released into society again. Why should that person think they should stop their criminal activity when they really suffer no actual consequences for their depravity? They’re simply being taught that their crimes have no consequences, which gives them permission to do the same repeatedly.

I’m mindful of the apostle Paul’s words to Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 where he essentially details just how bad things will become during the end of the end times/last days. His very first description sums it up: “People will be lovers of themselves…” This is it in a nutshell, with people thinking so highly of themselves that they think they can do no wrong. They come to the point of living fully unrighteous lives because they love themselves so much and have only hatred for others.

I’m sorry if this article seems a bit depressing or frustrating. This is what life is becoming as we approach the start of the Tribulation period of seven years. Jesus warned in Matthew 24 that during the Tribulation, society will see the worst type of situations this world will ever have witnessed. Jesus didn’t tell us that to create fear within us. He told us that to be aware of the possibilities and to adjust where we can adjust.

Society is truly dying. But a new society is coming and only those who are in Christ will experience that society. I look forward to that as I move through the remainder of my life.
