Something Insidious This Way Grows…

Jesus warns His followers to watch out for false prophets. He was speaking of those who deliberately teach falsely. What is their purpose in being false? These false prophets do what they do for their own selfish gain (2 Peter 2; Acts 20). The Bible treats false prophets and teachers as a reality that will always be with us until the physical return of our Lord and we need to be aware of how they work.

What is New Apostolic Reformation (NAR)?

But it needs to be stated that there truly is nothing new under the sun. Things come around again with different names and a slightly different emphasis, therefore they are “new.” The problem with NAR, as with the Emergent Church (they’re more alike than many realize, with the exception of the “signs and wonders” in NAR), and many aspects of the Charismatic Movement has to do with the fact that these groups are really offshoots of other groups from previous times in history. They’re given a modern-day look and feel in an attempt to reach youth especially, but in reality, it’s all been done before.

A Personal Story of Deception

The torment eventually began to subside through the process of fully submitting myself to Jesus again.  I could do nothing else but to throw myself into the verse, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)  In my efforts to make that happen, I made a conscious decision to resist the devil by literally ignoring the harassment.  During that time, I stopped looking up at the sky and simply would not acknowledge the images. I turned away whenever I noticed one of them.  I knew that this had happened due to my own actions of allowing witchcraft to remain in my house, and I whole-heartedly repented of it.  I read the Bible and filled my mind with the Word every chance I got.  I prayed constantly.  Then, finally… one day it occurred to me that I hadn’t seen them for a while.  It had taken months, but they were gone… Completely gone!

Wolves? Who is Randy Clark?

If Randy Clark actually believes he is an apostle as Paul, Peter, John, and the others were (and remain), apostles, then he also clearly believes that he has the authority to “add” to God’s written Word, just like Paul did, even though he claims that the Bible is the final authority. He can’t believe that and believe in signs, wonders, words of knowledge, and prophecies, can he? Therein lies the tremendous danger.

Wolves? Who is Heidi Baker?

In Acts 2, when actual tongues of fire sat upon the heads of the disciples gathered in the upper room, did it hurt? Was there screaming as though their skin was burning off? There was only one sound that the Bible records: a mighty rushing wind (Acts 2:2). There was no screaming of the disciples when the Holy Spirit descended. None. The disciples then went outside and spoke in tongues (known languages by those who heard them though unknown at the time to the speakers).

Leading the Sheep Toward Romanism

For several years seen a growing embrace of aspects of Roman Catholicism from well-known and influential speakers and authors within Protestantism including Beth Moore, Rick Warren, Kenneth Copeland, Randy Clark, Bill Johnson, the late Tony Parker, and too many others to list here. It almost seems as though these folks believe their mandate is not so much the Great Commission of Jesus (Matthew 28), as it is to help unify all people under the umbrella of the Roman Catholic Church. They do so under the guise of simply desiring to include those within Catholicism regardless of theological differences, even though those differences are the very things that keep us apart and unable to worship together.

Growing Ecumenical Deception Taking Hold, Pt 3

If Antichrist walked onto the religious scene right now, he would very likely be fully accepted and even worshiped by many with the New Age, the Charismatic Movement, NAR, and elsewhere. Why? Because of a complete lack of discernment on the part of many. Just consider the way Steven Furtick (Elevation Church), introduced Bishop T. D. Jakes to the platform at his church, who referred to Jakes as the greatest preacher of this generation, yet Jakes holds several heretical viewpoints regarding God’s nature that do not square with Scripture at all. Or listen to Mike Bickle (IHOP) talk about Bill Johnson (Bethel, Redding CA), as though he were God’s gift to the Church. This ought not to be but it exists.

Growing Ecumenical Deception Taking Hold, Pt 2

We are now being told that we must simply get along and if that means setting even the fundamentals of the faith aside, then so be it. Doing so will apparently allow the world to see that Christians truly love one another and start to see Christianity as authentic, true, and something to embrace. But what will the world be actually taught? Doesn’t sound doctrine do the teaching as well as a graceful and humble demeanor? You can love someone all you want but if you never tell them about the sin in their life that keeps them from God and their need for Jesus, your love means nothing. This push for unity is most certainly moving toward something huge. What is it?

Does God Know or Does He Not Know?

But if God sees all, why do we read portions of Scripture where it appears – at least on the surface – that God doesn’t have a full or complete understanding of a particular situation and because of that, needs to actually come down to the physical location of earth, walk around, and see things for Himself? What is the true meaning of that?

Prophecies of Isaiah, Pt 7

It will be interesting to see what transpires over the next few years regarding Babylon. Will it rise again? If so, what will it be like? Chances are great that this city, according to Scripture, will be rebuilt and play a part in the coming Tribulation. However, what is far more important for each and every Christian is to live in a way that glorifies God so that others might see the difference in our lives and be pointed to the God of glory, who has died for their sin.
