Ten Kings, the Antichrist, and the New World Order, Part 7

These are the main things that this seven-year covenant creates when Antichrist is given power to bring it to fruition. Until God’s timing is right, it will not happen, no matter who tries it and no matter how many times it is tried. The key is God’s timing and we’re not there yet.

Ten Kings, the Antichrist, and the New World Order, Part 6

But who is the “he” in this verse. There are many who lump all of the pronouns “he” together in Daniel 9:24-27 as referring to Jesus, or Messiah. This would be incorrect simply because of the law of first antecedent, meaning that the “he” in verse 27 must be referring back to the closest actual noun or person. We need to figure out who that noun is before we can continue. If it is Jesus, how would He make a covenant and then do something to halt the sacrifices halfway through the week? Historically, any time the sacrifices have ceased it has been due to something bad, something that desolated the Temple area and we’ve talked about the incident in 168 BC with Antiochus Epiphanes IV previously, which is an excellent example (cf. Daniel 8).

Ten Kings, the Antichrist, and the New World Order, Part 5

Since the AD 70 sacking of Jerusalem, there have been continued wars and conflicts there and Scripture tells us that these will continue until the end of this age, which will be purposefully brought to an end by the physical return of Jesus. In fact, this age will end with the build up to a final war, Armageddon (Revelation 16). This war is solely designed by Satan (through Antichrist) and his world forces to keep Jesus from returning to earth. Satan’s efforts will fail miserably (2 Thessalonians 2).

Ten Kings, the Antichrist, and the New World Order, Part 4

As we arrive to Daniel 9, we begin to zero in on specific times and timelines decreed by God Himself, with more of an explanation provided as to the exact amount of time that the Jewish people (Israel) would be under the thumb to some extent of Gentiles. We need to recall that had Israel been faithfully observant with respect to avoiding idolatry and fulfilling her responsibility with respect to the land Sabbath as well as Jubilee, all would have been well. For Israel to have accomplished this, it would have meant having kings who took seriously their role as leader and they would have been faithful in leading the people of Israel to keep all of God’s Law found in the Mosaic code. This was simply not the case and even though there were very likely people in Israel who had faith in God and believed His promises to them, the tone of the entire nation as determined by the corrupt and selfish kings who ruled over Israel was what God zeroed in on and the entire nation paid the price for their kings’ unfaithfulness in many things.

Ten Kings, the Antichrist, and the New World Order, Part 3

But where does all of this start? As we noted previously, even though the coming one-world government has roots all the way back to Genesis 11, Nimrod, and the Tower of Babel, it all begins in earnest in Daniel 2. This is where God chose to reveal what was previously hidden and starts the clock ticking. It is interesting that God chose to reveal the start of the first empire all the way to the global unification of the fourth and final empire in its revised or “resurrected” form (yet future), through Nebuchadnezzar. However, it makes sense if this is where God began tracking the 70 “weeks” that are revealed in Daniel 9.

Ten Kings, the Antichrist, and the New World Order, Part 2

Don’t you love the consistency of Scripture and how it actually interprets itself? Revelation 17 refers to the ten kings and so does Daniel 7, written hundreds of years apart. Just as we learn in Revelation 17, these Tribulation kings arise out of the final stages of the fourth kingdom that refers back to Daniel 2 (and 7), when Nebuchadnezzar received a dream that God interpreted through Daniel.

Ten Kings, the Antichrist, and the New World Order, Part 1

Eventually, God allowed Satan to begin again to direct the affairs of men – however slight – toward a unified global system of governance, as he had blatantly tried in Genesis 11, in order that the Scriptures might be fulfilled. Remember, Satan is being allowed and even used by God Himself to bring a unified world to fruition. That is key. However, it must never be forgotten that Satan is fully limited by God Himself and under His control.

Persecution’s Growing Dominance in the World

The one main organization in China that oversees religious groups and activities is called “State Administration for Religious Affairs (SARA).” This group has recently drawn up 26 new restrictions that they want applied to anyone who comes under the label Christian in China. Interestingly enough, the new set of drafted laws begins by clearly stating that all citizens of China are allowed to believe whatever they want to believe. However, restrictions apply as to how those beliefs can be exhibited publicly and even privately.

God’s Sovereignty Through the Ages, Part 2

Is this how things actually work, with God Almighty squared off against the powers of evil in the form of Satan? Are they “equal” opponents? Clearly, if we are to believe God’s Word, the answer is a resounding “NO!” God is supreme by an infinite amount! God is and remains always sovereign even when humans fail. God has absolute and final control over all situations that in any way impact His plans and purposes. God is fully sovereign, meaning that His plans and purposes always prevail. This is in spite of Satan and his angels and fallen humanity.

Deuteronomy: Application of the Law

The idea to love God was foreign to the Israelites’ way of life and understanding. It is something that needed to be developed within them. Why did Moses urge the Israelites to love God? Simply because love – true love – creates a desire to please the object of that love, from the heart. Without love, things done for another are done mainly out of fear or duty. Moses wanted the Israelites to go well beyond this where God was concerned. He wanted them to love God so that their actions and words toward Him would flow from a heart overflowing with appreciation and awe.
