Bible Warns of Apostasy and Persecution, Part 1
I don’t want to get into setting dates, times, days, or hours. That’s not the point of this short series of articles. The point is for us to understand God’s prophetic timetable in light of society and it appears that it comes together. Can we…should we look for anything? If so, what? Should we become so preoccupied with the subject of the end times that we wind up being so focused on it that we fail to realize when we stop evangelizing and therefore fulfilling the Great Commission? Should our study of the end times cause us to want to be even more involved in the Great Commission? I think so. The way I look at it is that we are all one breath away from death anyway. No one alive now knows when they will die. That’s God’s department. If the study of the end times brings us to a greater awareness of just how close death is to everyone and helps us to lose the “ballast” in our lives that keep us from walking closer to God, then it has served it’s purpose (1 John 3:2-3). If we – on the other hand – tend to study the end times to simply gain “knowledge” and become puffed up, then it would be far better for us to not study that subject. I cannot emphasize how important this is for all to understand.
Wars and Rumors of Wars
When dealing with the subject of global or world wars, it’s good and reasonable to ask why they occur at all? Who is behind them in the spiritual realm and here in the physical dimension in which we live? Maybe a better question to ask is why they happen? If we understand why these wars occur, we are probably that much closer to understanding who is behind them.
Ecclesiastes and Vanity of Life, Part 8
The purchases and his collections initially gave Solomon joy. However, in the end, it was all vanity, chasing the wind! In short, there was nothing of eternal value in all the things he had amassed for himself. He’s not talking about building the Temple here or doing other things for God. He is talking about the things he pursued for himself, in order to make his own life easier.

Ironic How World Blames God for Problems
The idea that the Daily News doesn’t like the fact that politicians and other leaders offer “prayers” when a tragedy like this occurs (hence their missive, “God Isn’t Fixing This”), proves the Daily News misses the point entirely. The Daily News wants greater gun control (and probably would thoroughly enjoy full gun confiscation, like the teetotalers so desperately wanted the absence of liquor in society because they thought that would solve all the problems), which would only teach us that the absence of guns doesn’t solve anything at all, since humanity will not have changed.
Today I was Reminded that I Have a Sin Nature
In our relationship with God, the fault always lies with us, never God. We are the ones who need to move back toward God. He waits for us and His throne room is always open to us. But we need to move past our pride and be willing to confess our wrongdoing so that He can (and will) receive us back into fellowship.
There will be many Christians who leave this life who never knew that they were out of fellowship with God. They had/have salvation and that’s really all they cared about. They failed to understand that they were supposed to be in relationship with Jesus, a relationship that would expose their sin, bring it to the surface, and allow God to siphon off that “dross.”
Why Did God Tell Zedekiah to Surrender to Nebuchadnezzar?
So does the situation with Zedekiah and Israel provide us with information that is helpful for Christians today, who live in such a corrupt nation as America? I’m treading very lightly here when I say that I believe there is an application that Christians can apply to their own lives. I would also like to issue a caution flag. You, the reader, are ultimately responsible for how you perceive not only God’s Word, but how you receive what I (or anyone) teach. Take what I say and compare them with Scripture. If you believe I have missed the mark, then so be it. You need to follow what you believe God states or implies in His Word. As for me, I believe God is getting me to see that resistance to a corrupt government is often futile and causes more problems. I’m not talking about resisting criminals in day to day living. I’m talking about the people that God has allowed to be in leadership positions and who oversee the laws of this nation and the tone that is created in society because of that.
It’s Not the Career Necessarily But Living Like a Christian In Your Career That Counts
I now understand more fully that it is not only okay to use our gifts in our career choice, but that we should, and it now makes perfect sense. In any job, we should comport ourselves entirely in a way that brings God glory. This alone creates a testimony that speaks to others, without having to be preachy. Chances are excellent that opportunities will come our way to use our mouths to point others to Jesus. Years ago, I thought all Christians needed to be in some sort of official ministry. Not anymore. God has people He wants to reach in the corporate world, the political world, and the entertainment world. He needs people who want to pursue those areas so that they can be a witness for Him. Certainly, there are temptations and traps in any field and it is necessary for the Christian to avoid them all, but not to necessarily avoid the career path itself.

Why Are You Interested in Studies of End Times?
The goal of studying anything related to the end times is this: it should cause us to focus on the fact that eternity is always a breath away…for everyone. This fact should create within us a strong desire for one thing. That is, we should become more focused regarding the Great Commission. The thought of eternity, whether it is in Jesus’ return or our going to meet Him in death, should refocus our thinking onto what is right, what is true, and what is worthy as Paul tells us in Philippians 4:8. What is more praiseworthy than focusing on spending eternity with Jesus?
Bible College Name Changes that Delete Bible
When I did talk with people at what used to be PCB, I was told that the surviving family and/or children of some of the teachers I learned under when attended PCB, were fully in favor of the name change. So? I’m not interested in what they think. I’m only interested in what God thinks. People – even in churches or parachurch organizations – too often tend to go along with the majority and blame it on God. “See? We’re unanimous, so it must be God.” They appear to be reading a different Bible than me because unanimity is not a hard and fast rule for determining God’s will. In fact, it seems that God’s will is often found in the minority of opinion.

Christians Are Not of This World
God leaves us here after we become Christians to help rescue others out of Satan’s dark dominion. He does not leave us here so that we can become preoccupied trying to fight to get America (or any other nation) back. We have a mission to rescue other people by introducing them to Jesus. That is our mission in its totality.
