Wars and Rumors of Wars

Most likely, yes it is…
In Matthew 24:6, Jesus said the following: “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. Make sure that you are not alarmed, for this must happen, but the end is still to come.”
If we consider the context of His words, He was speaking of the end of this age, not long before He would return to this planet as Judge and King. The verse immediately following verses 6 provides further explanation.
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes.…(Matthew 24:7; emphasis added).
The phrase “wars and rumors of wars” is something that speaks to the fact that throughout the world since shortly after the fall of humanity, people have been at odds with one another. It has almost always had to do with class warfare or one race of people pitted against another. The only time that this was not the case, as far as we know, was when Nimrod had gathered all people under his leadership in order to build a tower that reached the heavens. Nimrod is mentioned in Genesis 10 and the Tower of Babel is highlighted in Genesis 11. At that point, all people were essentially “one” in language, in purpose, in ideology. Nimrod – the hunter of men – was able to gather them all together as one for his purposes. God put a halt to that by introducing languages and from that point, people went off together in various culture groups and took up positions in various places of the globe.
Jesus’ statement, “nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom” is said to be a Jewish idiom (Fruchtenbaum). It essentially speaks of war in the area being highlighted. In this case, since Jesus is speaking of worldwide events in His Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24) and the events that will occur before He returns to this world as righteous Judge and rightful King, we can rightly assume that His use of “nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom” points to a time when nations will be at each other’s throats on a global scale.
This is probably as close as we get to any mention of world war in the Bible. Specifically, the Bible does not discuss a number of wars. It makes no direct mention of World Wars I or II. It does not discuss or highlight the so-called Six-Day War of 1967 as such. Yet, these things occurred and with interesting outcomes. The Bible does mention Armageddon and the Northern Invasion, as well as a few other wars that involve Israel, but it certainly does not mention all wars throughout history.
When dealing with the subject of global or world wars, it’s good and reasonable to ask why they occur at all? Who is behind them in the spiritual realm and here in the physical dimension in which we live? Maybe a better question to ask is why they happen? If we understand why these wars occur, we are probably that much closer to understanding who is behind them.
There are ostensibly two and only two reasons that wars occur, in my opinion. First, they tend to make lots of money for people behind the scenes who trade in technology, armaments, and weaponry. Second, the result of wars usually has to do with some form of removal of rights, privileges, and freedoms for the average individual.
During FDR’s day as president, the League of Nations was in, designed to create a world that was devoid of war. It didn’t work and failed miserably. However, not to be deterred, the United Nations (UN) ultimately replaced the League of Nations some years later and has been going strong ever since (thanks mainly to American tax dollars). The goal of the UN is essentially the same as the previous League of Nations, which is to create a world devoid of war. How can that happen without control though?
If we determine the success or failure of an organization based on outcomes as compared with its own reason for existing, it is clear that the UN is as much a failure as the League of Nations was when it existed. Yet, the UN continues as though it was the epitome of success. It’s not.
With every act of war, several things occur:
- certain individuals become extraordinarily wealthy either through sales of arms or the rebuilding process
- loss of thousands to millions of military service personnel (and civilians)
- redrawing of national borders for various nations
- loss of rights, privileges and freedoms (though it often does not seem to be the case initially)
This is the result of every war or conflict. The original 9/11 is a case in point. America was attacked on American soil. Nearly 3,000 civilians lost their lives. It was an act of war and the United States responded by attacking…Iraq. In the process, thousands of innocent Iraqis were killed or lives upended. Because of 9/11, the Patriot Act was made into law, a law which essentially further eroded the freedoms that Americans are guaranteed to enjoy under the U.S. Constitution, all in the name of the “greater good.” Whose greater good? Certainly, not the average citizens’ greater good.
Since 9/11, we have seen a constant erosion of rights and freedoms as certain powerful individuals seek greater control over the populace. This is clearly fact that our leaders prefer to ignore or deny. It helps that there are too many clueless individuals in America who say, “Well, if it keeps us safe, I’m all for it.” People like this have no concept of guaranteed freedoms under the Constitution. They wrongly believe that the government’s job is to keep its citizens safe. The only way for any government to do that is with more laws, more requirements, and more loss of freedoms.
If we consider the fact that since WWI, this world has really been steadily moving toward a society of greater control, it becomes easy to understand why wars happen at all. In a day and age when technology is so great, along with surveillance, one would think that no dictator, no person could do what Hitler did during WWII without tacit approval from world leaders. It simply boggles the mind to consider the fact that Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Hirohito, Saddam Hussein, and too many other dictators since the turn of the 1900s to count have all managed to gain the upper hand throughout the world and were able to do what they did in their attempt to achieve greatness. Why were they allowed to do that? Were they that strong and powerful? They could have been easily put down, but instead, they prospered at least for a time to create tremendous havoc in various parts of the world.
In fact, does it appear to anyone else that based on the “agreements” between the US, Russia and China since the Clinton years, that America’s military might and ability to defend itself has been on the decline? We have been dismantling military technology and bombs even though there is no proof from either Russia or China that they have been doing the same? There is at least some evidence that this has not been the case. Why has this been allowed and who allows it?
Aside from above mentioned four reasons, it would seem that the overriding reason for war has to do with controlling the populace. If this is the case, then the idea of an evil cabal that seeks that control must be considered. I don’t find it difficult at all to believe, unless one simply prefers to believe that the overall direction of this world as it moves toward a two-tiered socialistic/capitalistic regime is simply coincidence. That really cannot happen without some form of intelligent design and I’m not talking about God here. I’m talking about people who tend to think they are gods, who long for and work toward a system where they, as self-appointed leaders and rulers, will enjoy the full benefits of capitalism, while the rest of the world “enjoys” living under the principles of socialism. Such a system is seen as being too much science fiction to actually be viable. It’s great for entertainment value, but it is shrugged off by average people as something that cannot take place in real life.
No one worries about it enough to create huge movements to hold it in check. Comparatively speaking, few seem concerned about it even though the evidence of such a system coming into existence is all over the place and from every corner.
A question to ask now is do the leaders of this coming system of world governance have all they need to bring it to fruition? I think not, at least not at this point. There are other things that are needed before their system can be put into place in full.
The shortest and easiest way to make this happen is through another war. Most people see a potential WWIII and Armageddon as being one and the same. In fact, Armageddon will happen at the end of the coming Tribulation as the troops are gathered together under the leadership of the Antichrist in order to try to stop Jesus from returning to this earth. Yes, they are that asinine.
WWIII needs to happen long before Armageddon. Something needs to occur that will precipitate the full embrace of the coming system of global governance, or one-world system. Will it be the Rapture? That’s possible, though it’s certainly not something any person can control. Control would more easily come from a war throughout the world in which a country like Russia (with the backing of China), decides to commit a first nuclear strike against the U.S., Great Britain, or both. The fact that the U.S. has been steadily decreasing the amount of nuclear armaments as well as the size of our standing army leaves us ripe for the pickings. The fact that President Obama has effectively done what he can to eliminate as many high-ranking military officials as possible also tells us that our military has been severely weakened. Won’t the world also see this and wonder?
Joel Skousen has written several intelligent articles that highlight the real possibility of a coming nuclear strike against at least part of America. It would have the same results as the attack on Pearl Harbor and the original 9/11. Aside from the tremendous loss of life, patriots in this country would go ballistic and want to pull out all the stops against Russia’s nuclear attack. Just as FDR most likely knew of the upcoming Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor before it occurred and parts of our government knew of the upcoming attack on the World Trade Center before they occurred, what appears to be happening now is all in preparation for the upcoming nuclear attack that will strike “allied” nations. It seems that we are just begging for it to happen.
It’s like having a known house burglar in your neighborhood and instead of fortifying your home, you remove locks, start leaving doors and windows unlocked or open, and even going away for long periods of time, leaving your house essentially unattended. While you haven’t actually given a personal invitation to the neighborhood house burglar to rob your house, your actions have done that. He is aware of it and will simply take advantage of it at some point.
I think the same can be said about Russia and their intentions. Let’s not forget how many other nations have grown to literally hate America with an extreme passion. Let’s also not forget about the fact that most Americans have more respect for Putin than Obama. Russia is being portrayed as something they’re not in preparation for something big.
If you have the time, I would suggest reading Skousen’s extended article called, “Analysis of Strategic Threats In the Current Decade (2010-2020).” Yes, it is rather long but very interesting. I hope you’ll take the time to read through it and absorb what it has to say. Forewarned is forearmed.
One thing to realize is that the powers that be do not care about you or me. They care only about their own perceived needs and wants. It’s truly all about them. The biggest part of that is gaining as much power as possible over the world. They see themselves as blue bloods, placed on this earth to rule over the rest of us. They don’t care how much damage they cause or how much theft they’re involved in of various countries’ resources or anything else. The goal for them is to gather as much control over the rest of us as possible. They are willing to do what is necessary to achieve that end. They do not realize they are being used by Satan to accomplish his ends.
My wife and I have been watching WWII in Color on Netflix. The tragedy is how the elite used military personnel to achieve their goals. The loss of life during WWII is absolutely staggering. However, the results for the elite is astounding. Because of WWII, national borders were redrawn, the UN came into being, and the control of the people of this earth began in earnest. Over the years, we’ve seen the UN become much more aggressive in its efforts to ostensibly achieve “peace.” This has meant a greater control of the populace, including aspects of life in America.
War accomplishes nothing good for the average person. It is a complete waste of time because things are usually manipulated behind the scenes. The men and women who lost their lives – to the tune of 50 to 70 million individuals, both military personnel and civilians – were killed in part because they thought they were fighting for the greater good. As it likely turns out, that greater good was a smokescreen created by the individuals who remain in the shadows and who push this world toward a one-world system where they will be in control. They don’t care how many people are killed in the process. It’s all about their goals, their wishes, their vision for this world.
Of course, what is also clear since the Bible reveals that this world will become one prior to the return of Jesus, is that Satan is the guy behind all of this. He does this to install his man – the Antichrist – in the position of world ruler. Satan is using this world and its people to grant him the ability (he thinks) to stop Jesus from returning to earth in His Second Coming. That’s what it’s all about and he has been using wars and the resultant control he gains from them to bring us closer to the full implementation of his goals.
Each time a war breaks out, patriotism rises to the surface. People do things for “God and country.” In reality, they have been corralled into that way of thinking because it seems patriotic. If/when America is hit with a nuclear weapon at some point in the future, this same patriotism will come alive in millions of people who cannot see the forest for the trees. They will not have seen any of the telltale signs. They will never have understood that this world is being pushed toward globalism by individuals who want total control. These patriots will not realize that they are being played just like pawns and their patriotism is going to be used against them to usher in more death and destruction and greater control of the populace.
Even though we cannot stop what is likely coming, we can prepare ourselves for it emotionally and mentally. We don’t have to fall in line because of some misplaced form of patriotism. We can actually resist by not allowing globalists to fight their wars for them.

I disagree with one sentence only: “No one worries about it.” There are more true Christians, more truthers, and more Christian truthers every day. I meet some of them on facebook and try to limit myself pretty much to those who are telling the truth, those who are full of faith in Jesus, or both. But we are outnumbered and it’s headed in the direction you say. To what degree God would allow it to change based on repentance, prayer and more repentance, I don’t know. Maybe not at all. There are things that are written that will come to pass, but some of what is written is open to interpretation as to exactly how and when it will come to pass. And I don’t see any repentance happening on a large scale.

Good point. What I meant by that is there is no CORPORATE stand against it that would do any good. There are also way too many people who give no credence to any of this. It’s as you say, we are outnumbered.
I don’t see any repentance happening either. But even if it did, the globalists who control things would simply push back harder. The things that are written will come to pass. We know that a one-world system of global governance is coming. We know that the Antichrist will be the final ruler of that system. While I think there will be pockets of resistance here and there, ultimately, Satan is being permission to do whatever he can to bring his promises of Isaiah 14 to fruition. For that to occur, God needs to give Satan a very long leash.
PS – I went back into the article and clarified my meaning.
