Pelosi and Obama – On the Edge of American Liberalism

Pelosi at it again...trying to call Americans UN-American
My friend over at Prophezine.com – Ray Gano – sent out a brief e-mail with news of the latest arrogance of some within our government. “House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, called for an investigation of those who are protesting the building of the Ground Zero Mosque on Tuesday.” Take a moment to read that again, would you? Pelosi is asking – no, demanding – that the people who are opposed to the building of the Ground Zero mosque be investigated. She does not like the fact that some people are against it, so in true liberal, nearly communistic style, she has decided that while people may have a right here in the United States to ask questions, in this particular case, she does not like it, so not only should questions not be allowed, but to her, it is obvious that those asking the questions should be investigated for…what? Well, let’s let here explain it and see if it makes any sense, shall we?
This is what she told listeners of KCBS radio in San Francisco:
“There is no question there is a concerted effort to make this a political issue by some. And I join those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded,” she said. “How is this being ginned up that here we are talking about Treasure Island, something we’ve been working on for decades, something of great interest to our community as we go forward to an election about the future of our country and two of the first three questions are about a zoning issue in New York City.”
Is this woman brilliant or what (he says facetiously)? So, Pelosi wants to do what she can to derail the democratic process in this country. They are using the same tactics with the Cordoba House that they use against people who continue to demand that Obama provide his REAL birth certificate. It is unconscionable, but there it is for all to see and hear.
The Cordoba House IS a political issue, because Islam IS a political movement! It is that simple. Pelosi wants to know who is funding the opposition to the mosque. At the same time, the people of the United States want to know where the $100 million dollars is coming from to build the mosque. Hey, do you think there is a possibility that the Cordoba House is receiving SOME kind of funding from our friendly U.S. Government? If not, then that should be a simple question to answer. Instead, we have calls from politicians to investigate the people who are asking the questions. In doing so, Pelosi is actually answering the question about funding for the Cordoba House, isn’t she? In her attempts to turn tables, she is merely bringing more attention to the situation itself. She would say she is not, that the issue to build the mosque is a private issue, to be determined by the Zoning Department of New York City. If so, then how about being transparent about it, instead of attempting to turn tables on those who have every right to ask what, if anything, our government is doing to help the Cordoba House become a reality.
Here are a couple of asinine statements by Pelosi that show that she either has her head in the sand, or is simply dutifully ignoring the obvious, just as Team Obama and Mayor Bloomberg are doing: “Pelosi said the matter is a ‘zoning issue’ in New York City and would like the matter to be determined by city residents. She said the issue might be “ginned up” in order to help Republican candidates‘.” [3] This is true. Obviously, it IS a zoning issue in NYC and yes, it SHOULD be determined by city residents – absolutely. Why is no one listening to the residents of NYC?
She then states, “‘In New York, I’m sure the New Yorkers would like to make their own urban development decision themselves,’ Pelosi said.” [4]
Once again, this is true enough. Then WHY is no one listening to the multitude of NEW YORKERS who do NOT want the Ground Zero mosque to be built? Huh, Ms. Pelosi? Why is no one paying any attention to the New York City citizens who are out protesting and attempting to get Mayor Bloomberg’s ear on the subject? Why is Bloomberg turning a completely DEAF ear to those NYC residents who PAY Bloomberg’s salary (and your salary as well, Ms. Pelosi)? New Yorkers would definitely like to be heard on this subject. They have made their pleas known publicly. On one hand, Ms. Pelosi, you say that New Yorkers should make the decision about the mosque, yet when they attempt to do so, THEN you say they should be investigated.
When you say New York residents should make the decision about the mosque, you really mean that ONLY the Zoning Board should make the decision, don’t you? Stop mincing words and say what you mean. The Ground Zero mosque IS a political issue all by itself. It has not been MADE into a political issue. It IS a political issue and it needs to be addressed politically. Instead, all you can do is come up against citizens of this country in your attempts to stop democracy from happening. The American people are not stupid! Stop treating us as if we ARE!
“Ms. Pelosi called the Ground Zero mosque an “urban development decision” for New Yorkers to work through. Her remarks happened on the heels of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, parting ways with President Barack Obama on the issue. Mr. Reid suggested the mosque should be built somewhere else.”
What galls me more than anything is how stupid our elected officials tend to believe we are here in America! It is NOT an urban development decision. It goes way beyond that simply because ISLAM is involved in it. That should be obvious, but people like Nancy Pelosi are far more concerned with remaining in office, and will do whatever is necessary to remain close to the President. At least Harry Reid has the wherewithal to move away from Obama a bit, though we know that Reid is merely doing what he has to do to – again – stay in office. That’s what it’s all about and nothing more.
I think Pelosi should get together with TIME Deputy Managing Editor Romesh Ratnesar, who like her, apparently believes that the threat of Islam is really not a threat anymore (see our August 17th post: “Romesh Ratnesar Says Radical Islamists Are a Dying Breed”).
At the same time, it also appears that more and more people are actually beginning to think for themselves and question their elected leaders. European Times reports that “One should not assume that the anger expressed by American voters in recent weeks is somehow limited to a fringe element of this society. While Jews are generally not identified with the Tea Party crowd, there has been a corollary Jewish response these days to the events unfolding in the Middle East and elsewhere. Someone has suggested that this countercultural response could be labeled as a contemporary version of the Maccabees, namely, a revolt against the existing order.” [1]
This is not the first time that Jewish voters have complained about Team Obama politics where Israel is concerned. For those not familiar with history, the Maccabean Revolt was an interesting turning point in Jewish history. Many have heard the name Antiochus Epiphanes, but if you have not, he was a ruler who took out his angst on the Jewish people in the Land of Israel. Ultimately, in 168 B.C., he waltzed into the Holy of Holies, slaughtered a pig on the altar, sprinkled blood around from the pig, and some even report that he set up a statue of Zeus there as well, with his (Epiphanes’) face mask over Zeus’ face. Epiphanes had wanted all Jewish worship to stop, but they refused. This was his way of making it stop. He also had women put to death who followed Jewish law by having their baby boys circumcised as prescribed by Mosaic Law.
This ultimately led to a revolt by Jewish leaders in the small village of Modein, just a hop, skip, and jump northwest of Jerusalem. The family became known as “Maccabees” (meaning hammer). Antiochus Epiphanes sent officers of his army to the village of Modein and ordered the elder priest, Mattathias to sacrifice to pagan gods. His refusal speech is similar to words found in Joshua 24. Another Jewish man stepped up, willing to perform the sacrifice so that Epiphanes would be satisfied. Mattathias grew enraged and wound up killing the Jewish man for his disobedience and willingness to turn from God, and Mattathias also killed the soliders as well.
Mattathias did not stop there. He went up to the pagan altar that had been erected and tore it down. He then shouted “Let everyone who is zealous for the Law and who stands by the covenant follow me!” (I Maccabees 2:27)
Mattathias, along with his five sons and a number of other Jews, fled to the mountains. “These men organized themselves into a large, powerful guerrilla-warfare army, and soon began to launch raids against the towns and villages of the land, tearing down the pagan altars, killing the officials of Antiochus, and also executing those Jews who were worshipping the pagan gods. The aged priest Mattathias was much too old for such a rigorous lifestyle, however, and died in 166 BC just as the rebellion was gaining momentum. He chose wisely, though, when he left his son Judas in charge of the rebel forces.” [2]
The revolt continued for some time under Judas’ leadership. Interestingly enough, due to Judas’ faith in God, and the arrogance of Epiphanes, though gravely outnumbered, the rebels led by Judas, overcame and were victorious against Epiphanes and his armies.
Returning to today, what we are seeing is nothing less than a cohesion among Jews and it is very likely that the recent flotilla situation in the waters offshore of Israel is the galvanizing point. In Ezekiel 37:1-14, we read of the Valley of Dry Bones. As I have pointed out previously in one of my posts here, the bones became alive in stages. First, the after Ezekiel prophesied over the bones, by God’s order, the bones attached themselves to one another and stood up (cf. Ezekiel 37:7). Then sinews, muscles, and flesh took hold of the bones. The bones, now covered looking very much like human beings, stood up!
But God was not done. There was one final step and God commanded that Ezekiel should once again prophesy over the bones. “Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army,” (Ezekiel 37:9-10).
God has taken these dry bones (dead for quite some time because they are completely dry), and in stages not only brought the bones back together, but added sinews and flesh to them. Finally, God breathed into the bones so that they became alive.
I realize that there are some who believe this references the Church. That’s ridiculous. You cannot get to that point without allegorizing Scripture, which is, in most cases, a completely no-no. God is speaking TO Ezekiel (a Jew) about Ezekiel’s people (Jewish) and God is telling Ezekiel what He will do with Ezekiel’s people (Jewish) in the latter days.
Since 1948, when Israel became a nation, and the dead language of Hebrew was once again resurrected, God has brought many Jews back to His Land. He continues to do that. What we are seeing in my opinion, is the working out of this passage in Ezekiel 37. God has raised the bones, brought them together, has put sinews, muscles, and flesh on those bones, and they merely await God’s breath. Once God breathes upon them, the Remnant will see Him. They will understand the truth about Jesus Christ and the fact that He IS their Messiah.
It seems that now, God is galvanizing Jewish people and they probably do not know why. It is simply happening. So in one sense, President Obama is being used by God to rally Jews everywhere.
Pelosi, Obama, and others who are opposed to God, who stand in opposition to Him, are serving their purposes. Regarding Pelosi, she needs to be replaced. I agree with Ray Gano when he points to the audacity of this woman. She is audacious and she has NO right whatsoever to call for any type of investigation because ultimately, what she is doing is impeding the democratic process. America is NOT a dictatorship, though to Pelosi, Reid, Obama, and numerous others, they TREAT America and its citizens as if they are dictators.
I have had enough of Team Obama and Nancy Pelosi. Have you? They need to be shown for what they are, and they need to be stopped. Starting with prayer, we need to pray for wisdom, for God’s will to be accomplished, and for Him to be glorified in all that we do, think, and say. What does God want us to do now? How does He want us to fight? It MUST start with prayer. We MUST submit ourselves to God in order that we will be found doing His work, not ours.
“For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven,” (Colossians 1:9-20 KJV; emphasis added).
