Mr. Obama and the Demands of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood

We all know (or should know) about the fact that Hilary Clinton recently announced that the United States wants to “dialogue” with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.  Apparently, the U.S. has received their first demand from these “kind” Islamic folks.

Apparently, they want us to prove good faith by simply dropping any and all ties with Israel.  “…Muslim Brotherhood spokesman Mahmoud Ghozlan stated that if America wants solid relations with the group, it should “stop supporting the corrupt and tyrannical regimes, backing the Zionist occupation and using double standards.” [1]

Of course, it is helpful to understand that as far as Muslim Brotherhood is concerned, any Israel is bad Israel.  They will not be content until every last Jew is out of the Middle East, unless the Jews want to hang around to be part of the dhimmitude that will take place once Muslim Brotherhood takes over.

This reminds me…a few months ago my wife and I sat in the audience listening to Mosab Hassan Yousef tell us that the Muslim Brotherhood would “never” take over Egypt.  It won’t happen, he said.  He even laughed as he said it, making it sound as if the very idea was preposterous.  Now however, it looks like it may be turning into a reality.

Others have questioned the intentions of Yousef and his sincerity.  Did he really leave Hamas like he said he did?  Did he truly become a Christian, or is it a game he is playing?

According to Walid Shoebat, questions surrounding Yousef may be legitimate and necessary.  Shoebat posted on May 5, 2011 the following:  “After years of providing valuable intelligence, in 2007 Mosab declared his conversion to Christianity, moved to California, and went public with his story. His tale was a sensation, drawing attention and praise from U.S. pro-Israel organizations. But his tale has since been revealed to be a “long con,” the evidence coming from when he speaks publicly in Arabic.” [2]

Reading the article is like being slapped in the face…hard.  Shoebat continues with these assertions: “Mosab did not convert to what the West would recognize as Christianity, but to a fiery, Palestinian brand of the faith that is vehemently anti-Israel. According to Mosab, his main goal in coming to the U.S. is to infiltrate the main source of international support for Israel: the American church.” [3]

Also according to Shoebat, Yousef has gone on several Arabic-speaking shows like “Daring Question,” and responded to questions from callers with pro-Palestinian responses.  As one case in point, the host of the show (with Yousef present) asked a caller what he (the caller) would do if a situation presented itself that had to do with terrorist activity.  Would he report it to the Israeli authorities?

Yousef interrupted and responded to the caller with, “If I was in your shoes, you should not report it to Israel.  I do not encourage anyone to give information to Israel or collaborate with Israel. If anyone hears me right now and they are in relation to Israeli security I advise them to work for the interest of their own people — number one — and do not work with the [Israeli] enemy against the interest of our people. They should collaborate with the Palestinian Authority only.” [4]

Of course, this immediately calls into question the truthfulness of both Shoebat and Yousef.  Obviously, they cannot both be telling the truth, so either Yousef is lying about becoming an actual Christian (and Shoebat is reporting on truthful situations regarding Yousef), or Yousef is telling the truth and Shoebat is making up stories about Yousef).  There can be no other scenario.

If Shoebat is telling the truth and Yousef is lying, this would explain at least why there have been no attempts on Yousef’s life, but that in and of itself does not dictate the truth.  God’s protection for Yousef obviously could come into play.

On the other hand, if Shoebat is telling us fabrications regarding Yousef, the question must immediately be asked, why he is doing that?  Is he jealous of Yousef?  Is Shoebat the one who is not truly a Christian and is afraid that his cover will be blown by Yousef?

When I listened in person to Mosab Yousef, I was impressed, but as the evening wore on, I thought to myself that here is a man who seems to have no worries at all.  He says he is not afraid to be assassinated.  His life appears to be carefree.  He joked with the audience and certainly put us at ease.

Yet, the things he mentioned about Egypt have not come true.  In fact, Muslim Brotherhood appears to be making some huge gains in that country.  Yousef said that would never happen because there are too many young people who want Democracy.  That may be true, but for generations, Egypt has been run as a dictatorship essentially.  What a person wants and what the government gives them is normally another thing entirely.

There are questions that need to be answered regarding Mosab Yousef.  Who is he?  Is he truly a Christian or is he simply acting as a double agent, trying to fan the flames of American discontent toward Israel?

This appears to be what Islamists do best.  They try to blend in with their surroundings, yet underneath are simply waiting for their chance to gain the upper hand.  In countries like Egypt, this is not necessarily the case because in many ways, Muslim Brotherhood (which began in Egypt) has the upper hand already.

Muslim Brotherhood can attack and burn Christian churches (as they have been doing), killing and injuring hundreds in the name of Allah.  People find it very difficult to fight against this type of assault.  Certainly, in a land where the people have been controlled by a dictator, that fact alone makes it doubly difficult to get out from under that tyranny.

While our leaders in Washington seem very willing to open up dialogue with the Muslim Brotherhood, that alone tells me that either our leaders recognize that Muslim Brotherhood is already the unnamed leader of Egypt, or our leaders want them to become the named leader.  In either case, Muslim Brotherhood has wasted no time in making this demand known.

Wherever they can be, Muslim Brotherhood is duplicitous.  When they can afford to be, they will be straightforward, but not until they gain the control they need.  Is Yousef shining everyone on with the act of being a Christian, while inwardly supporting Hamas and groups like Muslim Brotherhood?  If Shoebat is telling us the truth about what Yousef says on Arabic-speaking programs, then it would appear to be the case.

So it appears that Mr. Obama is given a choice.  He is the one who went to the Muslim Brotherhood first, welcoming them with open arms.  The Muslim Brotherhood however, wants to see proof of the sincerity of the Oval Office.  “You want to dialogue with us?” they ask.  “Fine, then prove you mean business and throw Israel completely under the bus!”

In essence then, Muslim Brotherhood is saying they are not playing games.  They will not waste time talking with the leader of the United States unless he is willing to prove to them that he has a true distaste for Israel.

This leaves Mr. Obama with a very hard choice, one that he may not have even expected.  He now has to back up his invitation with much more than words.  He has to do what no other president before him since Israel became a nation, has done:  to win Muslim Brotherhood’s approval, Mr. Obama must part company with Israel…permanently.

In truth, I believe that Mr. Obama would like more than anything to do this, but he is still concerned obviously about his re-election.  Right now, the economy is in the dumps and Mr. Obama has done nothing to help that, unless you consider spending hand over fist taxpayer dollars on everything except attempting the fix the economy a good thing.

So Mr. Obama is trying to at least make it appear as though he is concerned about the economy of the U.S.  Now, on top of that, he has to make the very difficult choice of whether or not leave Israel completely in the dust or not.  If he does, then he will be seen as a complete liar to the Jewish groups he recently spoke with and promised things to, regarding Israel.

Tsk, tsk, he is between a rock and a hard place.  Of course, if Mr. Obama was a dictator, he would do whatever he wanted and to heck with the voting public.  Unfortunately for Mr. Obama, he is not the dictator of the United States (though at times, the way he treats the U.S. Constitution, you would think he thinks he is).  He is merely the president and as president, he is supposed to figure out ways to lead this country to prosperity and to do what is right for all of America.

Mr. Obama has only one thing on his side at the moment regarding the Muslim Brotherhood’s demand to erase ties with Israel.  That is that there are millions of people here in the U.S. who do not support Israel.  They have been screaming for our leaders to break ties with Israel for a while now.  Certainly, they would be happy about any political split with Israel.  The rest of us would not be happy about it.

I am becoming more convinced as time progresses that if we have a leader who does not except make supporting Israel his/her first priority, everything else will fall into place.  If we continue another four years with Mr. Obama, the chances are great that America will be turned into nothing.  Of course, at least 30% of our population does not see that, for some strange reason.

Well Mr. Obama, what’s it going to be?  Will you continue to at least pretend that you support Israel, or will you use this opportunity to break ties completely with Israel so that you can side more completely with Islam?
