On Benghazi’s Hot Seat

May 10, 2013 at 7:51 PM 4 comments

The daily chatter regarding Benghazi is getting louder, especially now that some actual media sources have joined in and appear to be pushing others off to the side as if they were here all along.  One anchor on CNN is now claiming that “the talking points were edited down from the CIA’s original draft to something that was totally untrue.” ABC noted that one word in particular that changed during the talking point revisions has a damaging effect for the White House. A panel discussion on MSNBC of talking point changes prompted pundits to note that the whole thing smacks of a potential impeachment issue.

Even though a small part of this has been out there before, under pressure, CBS finally revealed video footage of Obama refusing to come out and call the Benghazi situation a “terrorist” attack.  Yet, we all recall during 0ne of the presidential debates, moderator Candy Crowley jumped in to aid Obama in supporting his assertion that he had called it a terrorist event. By the way, this video was shot after Obama’s Rose Garden appearance in which Crowley claimed that he had called it a terrorist event. Yet, in the video, when pressed by 60 Minutes’ Kroft, Obama refuses to go there.

NBC’s Lisa Myers has even said that Benghazi is something Democrats are starting to worry about. Apparently, she’s been contacted by several Dems who are trying to undermine Greg Hicks’ testimony.

In a video of a press conference with Jay Carney, it appears that he is trying really hard to make everything fits, but some accuse him of simply lying through his teeth for seven minutes.

Geraldo Rivera is on the bandwagon saying as well, saying his “sources tell him the U.S. was involved in a secret mission in Libya to arm the Syrian rebels, which was the reason for the initial secrecy about the attack in Benghazi.”

One media source is still holding off, preferring to do what the left does best with ridicule.  As can be seen by a tweet from the Washington Post, they’re more interested in placing blame for continued interest on the Benghazi potential cover-up on “middle-aged men and Chick-fil-A lovers.” The implication of course, is that only male bigots are interested.  There were many who tweeted back, identifying themselves as women and even minorities who were interested in the Benghazi situation because they care about America.

Sen. Jim Inhofe recently stated, “People may be starting to use the I-word before too long” on a radio program.  He’s referring to the word “impeach” and actually, with all due respect senator, people used that word when Benghazi first became an issue.

Other people in Congress are involved in doing what they can to force full disclosure from the Obama administration.  Rep. Darrell Issa, along with Jason Chafetz sent a letter to Hillary Clinton this past November 1, 2012 because of the possibility that Libya had actually been complicit in the 9/11 anniversary attack in Benghazi.

I guess better late than never.  The trouble is that had the media jumped on this bandwagon when the issue of Benghazi first reared its head, we might have been well past this point by now.  Unfortunately, it feels as though we are starting over because the media failed to do its job months ago when Benghazi first became a household word.

Now, there is some catching up to be done and we can only hope that the full truth will come out.  However, it appears that at least some on the left do not want that truth to see the light, so they are doing what they can to protect one (or two) of their own.

Years ago, when Republican president, Richard Nixon tried to defend himself against the charges that he had something to do with the Watergate break-in, he initially denied everything.  Eventually, with evidence mounting, it became irrefutable. Congress was moving toward impeachment so to save the country time and money, he resigned the presidency.  It was the right thing to do and no one died with Watergate.

Benghazi is something far worse.  We are talking about the lives of four Americans who died because no one did anything. Those on the left are arguing that there wasn’t time.  They claim that even if fighters had been scrambled, they would not have gotten to Benghazi in time to save anyone.

That is totally beside the point.  Shouldn’t our government had made an attempt to save our own people?  Shouldn’t security have been tighter?  If Americans employed by our government are deliberately put in harm’s way, safeguards should be in place.

Listening to the Benghazi hearings shows that certain individuals are more interested in hiding facts and protecting people who may be guilty of terrible injustices.  They appear to be interested in keeping the truth hidden.  Why?

If there was no cover-up and no one did anything deliberately wrong, then we should also be very willing to bring the truth to light so that individuals will be exonerated.  Instead, it appears to be the same old, tired, worn out fiasco created by people who are far more willing to coddle potentially corrupt people than see that the truth is heard.

Congress and the whole of our government may in fact, be broken beyond repair.  It may well be too late to believe that truth will prevail.

Time will tell and we can only hope that Benghazi, like too many things before it, will not continue to be obscured by a fog of lies and misdirection.

I have already posted to you on this, but the thing is alot of Press are saying impeachment, what happen with Clinton? nothing——- that has a bad taste in the general public, they or we don’t forget, he went on doing the lies and swindling of the American people, who in DC is going to stand up and say, not this time——– maybe Ted Cruse before he gets ate up with the under world of DC, it’s all about scratch my back and I’ll scrub your’s attitude, the world has gone to “hell in the hand basket” and whats in their hand basket is GREED, MONEY, and POWER, sad just very sad

    RESPONSE:
Yes, I agree. Impeachment does not necessarily mean he would be ousted from office. I can see him hanging on.

It’s not for nothing that Paul says “for the LOVE of money is the root of all evil,” (1 Timothy 6:10)

Your 100% plus right, with the money the natural thing is then greed, and with the greed comes the power,(which is really darkness) but in all the darkness that’s going on, the LIGHT of GOD will prevail, there are not many I trust on whats going on any more, I am still very much a person in and of FAITH, that we will come out of this, not good for a while but we will, people are starting to listen to people like you that do your home work, and there is The Blaze, both God faring people, thank you so much for your writings

in response to the impeachment, I think if they have done a wrong then they need to be removed, but then whats behind them? is saying for better or worst fit? He’ll hang on we have no one that’s going to do any thing to remove him

Lots of prayers being said, thanks for all you bring to light.
