GABA, GABA, Doo, Part 2
Think about the fact that just these two neurotransmitters – GABA and glutamate – perform many functions via communication in our systems. When they are out of balance or sync, the impact on our physical, mental, and spiritual health is almost immediately seen. What is very interesting is that these two particular neurotransmitters are exact opposites. GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter, while glutamate is an excitatory neurotransmitter.
GABA, GABA, Doo, Part 1
If you are a Christian especially, you need to realize and comprehend that as Paul tells us our bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19), we need to treat it as such! This is so important, I cannot emphasize it enough. What we put into our bodies, whether food or drink will deplete or replete our neurotransmitters. The depletion of them will create all manner of illness and malaise. The repletion of them will help make and keep us healthy.
Walid Shoebat Espouses Some Powerful Callousness
I want to state that I fully reject and condemn Shoebat’s words, the callousness of his attitude, and his seeming absolute lack of Christlike love toward all people. But again, this is often where Dominionism leads, in my opinion. It breeds contempt for others. It sees people who oppose Christianity as the enemy. In one sense, those who remain lost are enemies of God, just as those of us who are now Christians were all enemies of God prior to embracing salvation (Colossians 1:21), but these people are not our enemies and there is a huge difference. Paul speaks clearly about this when he tells us quite plainly that our battle is not against flesh and blood (human beings), but against those in the spiritual realm (Ephesians 6:12).
Can We Biblically Love People Enough?
Here are various Bible passages that define God’s definition of love. Please go there and take the time to read them, analyze them, contemplate them, and ask the Lord to help you live them. I will state very clearly that I know that I do not love enough (and certainly not perfectly!), and you probably don’t either. This doesn’t mean we ignore sin, but we’d better be spending more time noticing our own sin before we point fingers at others.
Who Has Control Over Your Life Anyway?
Unfortunately, too many Christians act as though this life now is the best we’ll ever see! Wonder where that thought came from? I’m convinced that when my time to die comes, I will simply die. I may die from a heart attack, a car accident, a stray bullet, or only God knows what, literally. But unlike Hezekiah who begged and tearfully pleaded with God that his life be extended (and it was granted; 2 Kings 20), my life will end at its preordained time and I do not need to know when that will be.
Blame Game for Orlando Carnage
What about the worst case scenario? What if guns are to be eventually made illegal to own and collected throughout society? A precarious situation to be sure and one that will cause a great deal of problems in society, but in the end, if a law is passed that makes it illegal to own a gun, then Christians must obey the law. Do I agree with that law, if it should come to pass? No, I don’t. But we’ve been going over Romans 13 where it certainly seems clear enough that Paul commands us to submit ourselves to those who have authority over us. The only reason not to do that is when leaders forbids us from preaching the gospel (Acts 4). Peter could not obey this directive and didn’t. But this was the only situation where Peter believed he could disregard the “laws” of man.
Is New World Order Just a Conspiracy Theory?
Since FDR’s time, the building blocks of the coming NWO have continued to create an edifice that very soon, will be bigger than any country and there will be no ability to halt the process. It will simply continue to rise under its own power. What is very tragic is that there is much documentation available to anyone who would like to take the time to research things and quite a bit of it is on the ‘Net. Here is just one article that points some of it out, “US State Department 1945 New World Order.” The evidence is clear, but I’m repeating myself when I say few care.
Politics, Christians, and Romans 13, Part 4
I recently heard a member of a very well-known popular rock group say that the “Lord told” him that the band he is in can make a difference for children who are dying, so he began a charity. The charity has nothing to do with introducing people to Jesus. It has to do with bringing final wishes to fruition. I’m not saying this is a bad thing. We should do what we can to alleviate sorrow and pain in others whenever possible. However, we also need to understand that no matter how much pain or sorrow we might alleviate in this life for someone, without Jesus and the only salvation that comes from Him, they will experience an eternity of torment in the next life. Helping fulfill their “final” wishes in this life amounts to nothing. In that sense then, I have to wonder whether or not God actually “told” this particular band member anything at all. It would seem not to be the case since the thing he was told has only to do with the temporal and not the eternal.
Politics, Christians, and Romans 13, Part 3
As Christians, as followers of God Almighty, we cannot on one hand say that we are His followers, while on the other hand, disagree with an apostle appointed by Jesus Himself, who provides commands on holy living. We either are a true follower of Jesus and live to serve Him or we are not. While we will fall from time to time, our hearts should always be set in the direction of wanting to fulfill our heavenly calling. That calling is living in obedience to God, whether or not commands come from God in Christ or one of His apostles. But today’s Christian likes to pick and choose as though we are captains of our own fate. We are not captains.
