President Obama’s White House Ramadan Celebration

Imagine if a President of the United States celebrating Easter at the White House. I am NOT talking about inviting children to an Easter egg hunt. I am referring to celebrating the true reason for Easter, the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Imagine what the public outcry would be if this was done. The cries of “separation of church and state” would be heard hither and yon! Now I realize of course, that the White House is the residence of our president and the first family. That’s a given, and I realize that it is not uncommon for our president to celebrate Christmas as well as Easter.
But let’s be real here. Both Christmas and Easter are hardly Christian holidays anymore. They are financial opportunities for corporations to make a ton of money. There is a great deal of fanfare surrounding Christmas especially, which usually begins way before Thanksgiving arrives. Christmas for most businesses has become a calibration factor for how they think they might do in the coming year.
Easter is anything but resurrection Sunday. It is a time for children to paint eggs, buy rabbits, and receive Easter baskets with toys. Authentic Christians go to church on that Sunday, because it has supreme meaning. Professing Christians go because they feel they should, as to miss that one and Christmas is not a good thing at all. Plus, it keeps the wife happy, so men who never darken the doorway of a church building, are led like lambs to the slaughter once or twice a year.
Again, what do you think would happen if an American president celebrated either Easter or Christmas as they were meant to be celebrated? Political pundits would have a field day. Atheists would come unglued. To most people, it would be such an affront that it would be difficult to contain anger.
But here we are in 2010 and we have our first Muslim president and family in the White House. He was the first president to cancel the NATIONAL Day of Prayer (because it could offend), and while he continued the lighting of the Diwali Lamp that began with George W. Bush, Obama went further, recently celebrating Ramadan, a holy month for Muslims.
While many might argue that Obama is doing nothing different than George W., the facts are different. First, Bush attending church services as was his right to do so. While proclaiming his Christian faith, he also spoke positively about Islam. In other words, Bush did not publicly choose one over the other to the public. While he practiced (or was seen to practice) Christianity, he did not denigrate Islam (which may only be due to the fact that he does not really know much about it, or as a political figure, chose to remain neutral to an extend.
President Obama on the other hand, has essentially tossed Christianity under the bus at every opportunity. He has publicly stated that America is not a Christian nation any longer, due to the diversity of the religions present in our nation.
Now, with his celebration of Ramadan, which is obviously personal to him, Obama has once again shown his favoritism for Islam, while denigrating Christianity.
During his speech at the Ramadan dinner at the White House, Obama made his infamous remarks about the Ground Zero mosque. It was there he said in part, “Recently, attention has been focused on the construction of mosques in certain communities -– particularly New York. Now, we must all recognize and respect the sensitivities surrounding the development of Lower Manhattan. The 9/11 attacks were a deeply traumatic event for our country. And the pain and the experience of suffering by those who lost loved ones is just unimaginable. So I understand the emotions that this issue engenders. And Ground Zero is, indeed, hallowed ground.
“But let me be clear. As a citizen, and as President, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country. (Applause.) And that includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in Lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances. This is America. And our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakeable. The principle that people of all faiths are welcome in this country and that they will not be treated differently by their government is essential to who we are. The writ of the Founders must endure.” [1]
These remarks have understandably caused a bit of a fire storm among both Republicans and Democrats. It obviously impacted President Obama enough to feel the need to explain what he really meant. I don’t know, I think words generally need to be explained if they are stated correctly the first time.
Most individuals in the political arena give speeches. Most of these same people do not write their own speeches. Most presidents have people write their speeches for them, because most are not true wordsmiths. They want their speeches to coherently present their own beliefs and purposes to listeners, which is why they have other people to do what they cannot do.
So then, if no one had complained, would anyone have complained? Probably not and Obama would have felt no need to “explain” what he meant. But people did complain and rightly so. In fact, have you noticed that even Harry Reid is trying to distance himself from Obama because of his remarks. Of course, Reid is up for re-election this November, so he is all of a sudden concerned about the way the people in Nevada think. He now wants them to think that he is NOT deeply situated in one of Obama’s back pockets.
Because of the pressure on him, Obama needed to clarify his comments, so he came out and stated, “I was not commenting, and I will not comment, on the wisdom of making the decision to put a mosque there,” Mr Obama said. “I was commenting very specifically on the right people have that dates back to our founding.” [2]
Actually, he is spinning his words so far away from the truth, that they are obviously a lie. At least he is not the first politician to lie, and likely will not be the last. Let’s look at his original comments one more time:
“And that includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in Lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances.”
Now, the “explanation” of what he meant:
“I was not commenting, and I will not comment, on the wisdom of making the decision to put a mosque there…”
Okay, so President Obama’s point is that even though he specifically stated that Muslims have a right to build a mosque in Lower Manhattan, on private property, he denies that he specifically referenced Lower Manhattan (on private property) as support for a Muslim mosque to be built on that specific area of land. Whatever, Mr. President.
Look, the reality is that President Obama stated and GAVE the distinct implication that he was supporting the building of the Cordoba House in Lower Manhattan, on private property. There are a million and one ways he could have said that to NOT imply that he was supporting Islam and the building of a specific mosque on that specific site in Lower Manhattan. He chose to go with the words that someone else penned for him. Had no one complained, I would be willing to bet that he would have elaborated on that concept too.
I frankly have a sneaking suspicion that the exact words he used in his first speech were stated exactly like that, so that IF he had the need to retract (or rather explain), then he would be able to do so, blaming right-wing extremists for jumping to conclusions. The fact that he did not use the verbiage he used in his second set of comments in his first speech says a great deal.
He could have easily included verbiage like that given during his retraction…er…explanation of his first comments, in his first speech. He could have said something like this:
“And that includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in Lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances. Let me be clear though, that I am not putting myself in the position of supporting this mosque to be built in Lower Manhattan. I am merely saying that within America, Muslims as well as others have the right to practice their religion and build mosques on property they own.”
He could have also said something like this:
“But let me be clear. As a citizen, and as President, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country. We must never forget those who we lost so tragically on 9/11, and we must always honor those who led the response to that attack -– from the firefighters who charged up smoke-filled staircases, to our troops who are serving in Afghanistan today. And let us also remember who we’re fighting against, and what we’re fighting for. Our enemies respect no religious freedom. Al Qaeda’s cause is not Islam -– it’s a gross distortion of Islam. These are not religious leaders -– they’re terrorists who murder innocent men and women and children. In fact, al Qaeda has killed more Muslims than people of any other religion -– and that list of victims includes innocent Muslims who were killed on 9/11.” [3]
Because President Obama specifically mentioned the Lower Manhattan plot of ground where the controversy grows with each passing day, he entered himself into that controversy directly. Whether he intended his words to be taken the way he said them originally or not, the fact that he weighed in on the matter and acted as if no one had a right to “mis”-interpret his words.
The truth is that no one misinterpreted his words at all. One of the highest ranking Democrats in the land (Harry Reid) understands what Obama was saying when he made his original comments. He wants to distance himself from Obama because of it (and because he needs to get re-elected).
No one took Obama’s words out of context. No one misunderstood his meaning and no one let his words simply stand, unanswered. He was essentially called on the carpet by many Americans who took umbrage at the president’s clear and unwavering support of Islam over Christianity.
It is tragic that this man is president of our country to begin with, and it will be even more tragic if he does not resign for failing to keep the public trust. He has deliberately concealed his deep regard for Islam and done so by obfuscating his veneration for it within cloudy verbiage.
I am thinking that maybe…just maybe we will begin to see the start of President Obama’s fall from grace. As Nebuchadnezzar of old thought there was none greater than he, Obama seems to believe that he is of the same cloth. What Obama fails to see is the same thing Nebuchadnezzar failed to see. God appoints and dethrones kings and leaders as He will.
President Obama may yet find that he is in way over his head. He may come to the unerring conclusion that he has jeopardized his own political career because he was so quick to change America. He has shown his hand too soon and in short order, all of his backpedaling with not make one bit of difference simply because he will not be able to backpedal fast enough.
What if the media, under orders from their “higher ups” to “puff” Obama, soon receive orders to bring him down? What if these higher ups who believe they are the master chessmen in a game of strategy have placed Obama in power because they wanted to see what America would do with a Black Muslim as president? What if, having seen the results, and the dragon they have begun to awake, realize they have gone too far? What if these same individuals from the upper echelon have decided that they have pushed for too much, too soon?
You don’t really think YOU decide who our presidents are, do you? Whether you believe in the Illuminati, or the Bilderberg Group, or the Lucis Trust, or not, the fact remains that Satan has had groups of people in every generation who do his bidding. But Satan is not God and he will never be God. He is a finite creature who cannot see the future and at best, can only guess.
Satan has made plenty of mistakes before, and he will keep on making them, because he is NOT God. He guesses and even though his guesses are far superior to any guess that the most intelligent human being might come up with, they are guesses just the same.
As I have said previously, God may have allowed the election of President Obama to wake up authentic Christians who are busy snoozing away, waiting for the Rapture of the Church. They have that carefree attitude that says “Hey, it’s all going to work out in the end!” There has never been any doubt. But, we still need to work and most of our work should be done on our knees.
If Jesus spent a good portion of His waking hours in prayer, how much MORE should we? If Jesus HAD to spend time talking and communing with the Father, how much more should WE?
We are out of excuses. We need to set everything aside that so easily ensnares and we need to do it now. Clear your minds. Set your minds for battle. Drop down to your knees and pray. THEN, get up, and go out in the power of the Lord! He will gain the victory through you! Amen?
I am not ready to give up or give in. I am not ready to say that the Rapture is right around the corner (and it may be), so that I will give myself an excuse to stop working. I am not ready to give up the fight, or toss the battle aside. If God is still working, then He still needs His children to work too.
I’m not saying we need to start another Moral Majority. I am not saying we need to get politically involved. I am saying that we need to pray for God’s specific will to be done in the political realm. It is not off limits to Him. He controls all things.
The battle is the Lord’s. Let’s make sure we know what the battle entails. That can only be determined through prayer, supplication, and submission to the God of the Universe and beyond. Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him all creatures here below. Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts. Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!

We are now living in the age of apostacy of which the Apostle Paul spoke of in his writing: New Test. Many have fallen asleep in this country (wilfully) and don’t even care about what is ahead if we (Christians) don’t take a stand. I have met a lot of seemingly nice Muslim people and have been welcomed in their homes for meals and conversation. Many do not understand the Quaran themselves accept for the 5 pillars of their faith. Many don’t attend Mosque and don’t care to. But these same innocent people cheer on the efforts of the militants because they are either affraid to confront them or they secretly realize that Islam is gaining in world domination and they are proud of this. What they don’t seem to remember is that many innocent women, children and old men have been blown to pieces by their fellow radical extremists brothers and sisters. Furthermore they don’t seem to realize that a loving God that we serve is going to cast such people into the Lake of Fire forever and ever at the second judgment, Revelation 20, The Bible. They need to realize that their only hope is to trust Jesus the annointed one as Savior and Redeemer. John 14:6. Jesus says here that He alone is the only way to the Father and all other ways sought are false and will condemn the seeker of such ways. We are a tolerant nation and for the most part a loving people who seek to help those who are afflicted but we are also a people that will not allow our country to be hijacked by a bunch of radicals.

Thanks for your comments, Eagle.
The average Muslim is discouraged from reading the Qur’an and is encouraged to depend upon their Imams for interpretation. All we can do is pray that God will open their eyes to the truth and that he will continue to use us to spread His gospel.
The fact that our nation is so tolerant is going to be one of its downfalls, unfortunately.

This article is so full of factual errors and ignorance that it’s hilarious. Bush had 8 state dinners to celebrate Ramadan. Obama has had state dinners to celebrate Passover, Easter, Christmas as well as Ramadan and mentions Jesus Christ with praise more often than even Bush did. Obama did not cancel Day of Prayer, he did the same as Regan, Bush I and Clinton in making a proclamation in honor of The Day of Prayer but did not have a State Dinner. Bush II was the first president to hold formal cermonies for the Day of Prayer. Also, isn’t Day of Prayer for all religions and not specific to Christians? Shouldn’t the Jewish, Muslim or Hindu be as offended by this? These misrepresentations, factual erorrs
and lies are sinful.

I’m glad you got a good laugh out of it. I’ll double check what your stating as fact and get back to you. Thanks for writing, Terry.
President Obama CANCELED the Day of Prayer at the White House, something Truman started in 1952. The two stated purposes of the Day of Prayer were:
1. to allow adherents of ALL religions to unite in prayer, and
2. to usher in a greater respect for God
By canceling the White House observation of the event, it caters to special interest groups who have an errant understanding of separation of church and state.
For me, while Bush only held special events for Day of Prayer once, and Clinton held none, the fact that Obama flaunts his Muslim religion, while denying that he is Muslim is wrong.
Whether Obama “praises Jesus Christ” more than Bush means absolutely nothing. Muslims give praise to Jesus as well, while denying His deity and other important and orthodox aspects of Christianity. Why? Because Muhammad, who lived roughly 600 years AFTER Jesus made statements that the Muslim simply takes as fact (“Jesus did not die on the cross” etc.).
I did not lie at all in my article. What I did was comment on what I SEE, just as you are doing. You are providing your opinion about Obama and his alleged praise for Jesus Christ. The reality is that it does not matter how much a person supposedly praises Jesus. If they deny His deity, the only thing they are doing is politicizing Him in a world that has “respect” in some cases for Jesus. That’s all.
If Bush did it, I wouldn’t have bought it from him either, and especially not from Clinton. I will say this for Obama. For someone who says or attempts to deny that he is a Muslim, the many things that he has done since gaining the presidency tend to negate his claims.
The truth of the matter for me is that the Ramadan celebration is merely ONE instance in a long line of instances that ADD up to a great deal. You believe because I’m a “conservative” (you know, right-wing nutjob) that I have to resort to lying to make my point. I don’t have to resort to lying at all. All I have to do is point to Obama’s actions, his LACK of actions and his demeanor.
If I say “Obama has not shown his actual birth certificate,” you would accuse me of picking on Obama and likely follow it up with, “Why didn’t people ask Clinton, or Bush to show THEIRS? Good point, but for them, it was common knowledge that they did not grow up in Kenya, or have whose father was a Kenyan, and a mother a U.S. citizen. There are too many question marks over Obama.
If I say he is attempting to turn this country to Socialism, you would deny that saying he is simply trying to HELP people. Yes, by dipping deeper in my pocket all the while.
If I say that Obama is breaking the 14th Amendment by NOT protecting the states from invasion of illegals, you would say that he simply wants to help these underprivileged people.
If I say that Obama should not be wasting taxpayer money suing a state for attempting to put the Federal Law that is already on the books into practice, you would say that the law is racist, which is NOT.
Think what you want about Obama or your favorite politician. His actions speak very loudly and clearly.
