TSA Plays Gestapo

Ray Gano over at Prophezine.com sent an e-mail with some of the latest goings on in the world and the one that caught my attention was about a Sacramento-based airline pilot who has come under fire by the TSA for essentially doing nothing more than telling the truth.

The airline pilot video-taped the “security” measures at the San Francisco Airport so that the public could see the joke of it all.  Most people – except the blind folks who constantly say insipid things like “If it makes flying safer, I’m all for it!” – understand that what the TSA, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and other Federal government branches of “security” do is really nothing.

At one point during the video with the airline pilot narrating, he states that it is all smoke and mirrors to try to prove to the traveling public that the TSA is on top of things and that the billions of tax dollars that have been spent have been well worth it.  The truth of the matter is that this is far from the truth.

To my knowledge, the TSA has NEVER stopped a terrorist from getting on a plane.  If they had, you can bet that they would be bragging about it from here to eternity.  They know that they have not done so, so they turn the screws tighter and like most things, any new requirements simply wind up focusing on law-abiding citizens, not terrorists.  What the TSA is not considering is that terrorists are not morons.  They are evil, but they are not morons.

This particular pilot has had his Federally issued weapon taken, and was asked to surrender his state-issued CCW (Concealed Weapons Permit).  His situation will be reviewed pending an investigation.

Look, the reality is this:  the TSA along with the DHS and other departments are starting to use Gestapo tactics on the American people at large, whether it has been determined that people are innocent or guilty.  That fact does not matter and since we are NOT living under martial law, setting aside the U.S. Constitution is illegal.  Yet, this is what is done routinely now.

It started with the IRS and the IRS can pretty much do whatever they want to do and ask questions later.  In other words, as far as the IRS is concerned, you are guilty until and unless you can prove your innocence.  That is the way it works and everyone knows it.  Even if the IRS is determined to ultimately be wrong, it is usually only after a person has had a lien placed against their paycheck, their home, or something else and the person has spent thousands of dollars in legal fees to prove their innocence.

This is the way the TSA is becoming.  We have a pilot who has shown us the truth – which many of us knew anyway – and the TSA is embarrassed by it so revenge is what they have opted to do.  They have opted for this because they are embarrassed, but of course, the excuse they are providing is that the pilot’s video may have highlighted sensitive areas of airport security.  No, his video highlighted the fact that the airport security solves nothing, but creates a major headache for flyers.

Have you ever been in an airport when you pass by a display of all the alleged items the airport security has taken from passengers?  These can include knives, screw drivers, knitting needles, and even homemade devices.

For the most part, I don’t believe it.  They probably borrowed half of those things from a nearby prison, or went out and bought them to create a display that is designed to make us feel safer when we fly.  “See folks, the TSA is doing the job of keeping you safe!”  No, it isn’t.  It is simply making you believe it is doing the job of keeping you safe.

Again I ask, has the TSA ever stopped a terrorist from getting on a plane?  No, that job is usually left to the people on the plane after they find out that a terrorist is among them.  Now we have the enhanced pat-downs and the “peek-a-boo-I-see-you-naked” screenings.

There is only one thing left that the TSA can do to the traveling public and there will be some yahoos out there who will be totally behind it “if it makes me feel safer when flying!”  The next phase of security measures at the airport will be to remove all clothing, bend over and crack a smile while some hired-off-the-street security individual pokes and prods, all in the name of national security.  That is the only thing that is left to do.

The airport already has machines that sniff us, look through out clothing, and people who feel us up one side and down the other.  It is absurd, it is unconstitutional, and yet it happens.

Let me be clear here.  If the people at the airport were actual, fully trained law enforcement people doing the pat-downs, I would have no problem with that, in spite of the fact that my Constitutional rights were still being set aside.  But to have people who have little training, who are being paid minimum wage and who are unprofessional and egotistical given this job is a bit much to say the least.

This is where America is headed, folks.  As someone has already said, “the terrorists have already won.”  It is true.  They have succeeded in creating an atmosphere in America and the world that is frightened.  The answer to that, like everything else, is to do things that negatively impact law-abiding citizens.  It happens every time.

In February, 2011, a new law in California will take effect.  At that point, people who buy ammunition will be required to buy ammo in face-to-face transactions, and by giving their thumb print.  The liberal democrat who sponsored the bill that became law stated that he wanted to keep ammo out of the hands of gangbangers.  Good for him, but his law will do nothing of the kind.  I know of no gangbanger who buys weapons or ammo through legal means.  They may break into a store and steal it, but more than likely, they will just buy what they need on the street.

However, because of this new law, I will no longer be able to purchase ammo from places like http://www.luckygunner.com or http://www.ableammo.com where I routinely purchase reloaded ammo far less expensively than I will be able to after January.  So what do I do?  For me, I have purchased reloading equipment and have begun reloading my own ammo.  Unless and until the government decides that they need to place stipulations on individual parts of ammo, then I will be okay.

What will happen with this new ammo law?  I can see an eventual waiting period being introduced for purchasing ammo.  I can also see a limit placed on ammo purchases.  Currently, I am only allowed to buy one handgun every 30 days in California.  Someone may say “Why on earth would you need to buy more than one handgun every 30 days?!”  That’s not the point.  The point is that the government has decided I cannot do that.  There is already a waiting period on the purchase of guns.  A background check is already done every time I purchase a gun, so the idea that I have to limit myself to one handgun per month is absurd as well as redundant.

The gangbangers on the street fall under no such rule.  They get any gun they want whenever they want with ammo to match.  The DOJ (Department of Justice) has no jurisdiction over them and never will.

Whether it’s the TSA, the DHS, the DOJ, or something else, what we are seeing is the government’s’ encroachment into the lives of law-abiding citizens.  The worst part is that there are some people who think this is a great idea.  It’s only a  great idea until the government starts encroaching on something that is important to them.  Then they will learn to holler and scream, but it will be way too late at that point.

The reality is that if American continue to lie down and say nothing, Americans will lose more and more of their civil rights.  Gestapo tactics are becoming the norm for our government and that is thanks to President Obama and his illegitimate administration.

Just recently, the FCC voted to begin the process of taking control of the Internet.  This was done without Congressional approval and no one seems to be upset.  There are probably quite a few people who agree with it and think it’s a great idea.  However, it will become a problem when it begins to encroach on their individual freedoms.

Once the government gets hold of something, it never lets go.  Just look at income taxes.  They were supposed to be temporary, only until the end of the war.  The war ended, but income taxes remained.  Since that time, the amount of taxes the average citizen has paid has gone progressively higher.

The Bush Tax-cuts were really nothing more than keeping taxes from going up.  Everyone was arguing about whether or not Obama would continue the tax-cuts.  He ultimately did but that was only because he saw the writing on the wall – or at least he read the memo from Mr. Soros – that said if he doesn’t play nicely with the Republicans, they will not play nicely with him.

Again though, the tax-cuts were simply a continuation of no tax hike.  Liberals were arguing how much it would cost, but the reality is that since it was a no tax hike, how much it might cost was moot.

The government will not stop what it’s doing unless the people of America get angry about it.  If we continue to play along, they will continue to take.

Consider terrorists.  They push and push, demand and demand.  They use force if necessary to get what they want.  Once they get what they want, they continue the same tactics to get more.  Our government – sad to say – is becoming a lot like a terrorist organization.  They are simply taking and if they do not get what they want, they will use force if necessary.

The pilot who was visited by four Federal Marshalls and two Sheriffs was a victim of the TSA tactics that were done to show him they mean business and will stop at nothing to enforce their stupidity at airports across this land.  They play like bullies and act like bullies when they are cornered.

What the TSA and other departments of our government do is not for public security.  It is for job security and to make people think that our tax dollars are wonderfully at work.  In truth, our tax dollars are being wonderfully misused and wasted.

It is a sad day when you cannot speak out against your own government without fear of reprisals.  Yet, this is what we are experiencing in America today.  Is that okay with you?  It’s not with me.
